Wikileaks Papers Support Bush Claims of Iran Role in Iraqi Insurgency

Bush was right.
In February 2007 the United States military released photographic evidence supporting Administration claims that Iran was providing material assistance and training to the insurgents in Iraq.

The LA Times to insisted the U.S. could not prove an Iran link to Iraq strife.

The Wikileaks documents support claims by the Bush Administration that Iran was training and providing support to the Iraqi insurgency.
The Washington Times reported:
The largest unauthorized disclosure of classified government documents in U.S. history confirms a long-standing assertion of President George W. Bush at the start of the 2007 troop surge: Iran was orchestrating one side of the Iraqi insurgency.
Field reports made public by the website WikiLeaks on Friday show that U.S. military intelligence agencies had many strands of evidence revealing that Iran provided paramilitary training to Shiite Muslim insurgents at the height of the civil war in Iraq.
In one case, the military circulated a Dec. 22, 2006, warning that a group known as Jaish al-Mahdi planned to kidnap U.S. soldiers. The man planning the operation, Sheik Azhar al-Dulaimi, was trained by Hezbollah terrorists near the Iranian city of Qom, the document stated. Hezbollah is a Lebanon-based militia that was founded, trained and funded by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
“This confirms the degree of operational involvement the Iranian Revolutionary Guard used in anti-U.S. operations in Iraq,” said Kenneth Katzman, a Gulf affairs specialist at the Congressional Research Service. “It confirms the degree to which Iran was involved in operations that directly targeted U.S. forces.”
There is also evidence that the Iranian regime is providing assistance to terrorists in Afghanistan, too.

It is my firm belief that Iran is responsible for as many deaths of American troops as the Iraqis. Those activities should have been nipped in the bud long ago. I’ll never understand Why Bush did not order some type of small scale punitive attack. They know we know so it’s no wonder they continue to make Nuke weapons in spite of world opinion.

” Will the Left admit..” – not as long as there’s one ounce of “use” left. i think a little of this stuff [wmd] goes a long way and if you pass some of it around to the friends you can cause some pain. if Bush passed on this and it popped it’s head we’d be hearing the old worn “what did Bush know and when did he know”. a “woah who would”ve guessed” moment is not comforting.

Bush didn’t lie, but he also did nothing as Iran killed American troops. I agree with neomom#4, and I bleieve the failure to confront Iran is where the American effort to reshpae the Middle East lost credibility.

I took it in May when I was in London. These guys weren’t far from Westminster Abbey, they acctually camped in the square with, among others, a large Churchill statue.
2 million dead in Iraq? I think that’s the most exaggerated claim I’ve ever seen.

From what I’ve heard straight from the horse’s mouth, aka the men and women serving there, there was massive evidence for Iran’s involvement.
Of course the liberal media would ignore that.

we know..
we also know everything that’s in The Wiki Who Cried Leak booklet.. which is nothing more than the long ago released declassified documents that the MSM wouldn’t cover back then.. fortunately for most of US who were keeping track, discovered the info via a multitude of Iraq & Military blogs as well as other sources via the net..
