CONFIRMED —- Kendrick Meek tells Bill Clinton to go spit up a rope.

Aides to Bill Clinton and Charlie Crist have confirmed to the Tribune a Politico story saying the former president sought to convince Kendrick Meek to drop out of the U.S. Senate race to prevent Marco Rubio from winning, and nearly succeeded.

“The Politico story is accurate,” said Crist campaign spokesman Danny Kanner; Clinton aide Matt McKenna said the same in an e-mail a few minutes ago.

Kendrick is the Democratic nominee so if anyone should drop out, it’s Charlie Crist.”
