Once again, Sarah Palin nails it.
The Mama Grizzly says, “We’ve found a good candidate for defunding.”
From her Facebook Page:

At a time when our country is dangerously in debt and looking for areas of federal spending to cut, I think we’ve found a good candidate for defunding. National Public Radio is a public institution that directly or indirectly exists because the taxpayers fund it. And what do we, the taxpayers, get for this? We get to witness Juan Williams being fired from NPR for merely speaking frankly about the very real threat this country faces from radical Islam.

We have to have an honest discussion about the jihadist threat. Are we not allowed to say that Muslim terrorists have killed thousands of Americans and continue to plot the deaths of thousands more? Are we not allowed to say that there are Muslim states that aid and abet these fanatics? Are we not allowed to even debate the role that radical Islam plays in inciting this violence?

I don’t expect Juan Williams to support me (he’s said some tough things about me in the past) – but I will always support his right and the right of all Americans to speak honestly about the threats this country faces. And for Juan, speaking honestly about these issues isn’t just his right, it’s his job. Up until yesterday, he was doing that job at NPR. Firing him is their loss.

If NPR is unable to tolerate an honest debate about an issue as important as Islamic terrorism, then it’s time for “National Public Radio” to become “National Private Radio.” It’s time for Congress to defund this organization.

NPR says its mission is “to create a more informed public,” but by stifling debate on these issues, NPR is doing exactly the opposite. President Obama should make clear his commitment to free and honest discussion of the jihadist threat in our public debates – and Congress should make clear that unless NPR provides that public service, not one more dime.

Mr. President, what say you?

  1. My spidy senses that Sarah is going to get alot of troll comments.

Defund the left, Regan knew that is the killer blow. powder is dry.

  2. This is the first politician in my life I can say I’ve had affection for. I think it’s her decency.

  3. Yes! I hate the idea of publicly funded media. Invariably, such news organizations are teeming with leftists. When your job depends on big government then of course you’re going to serve as a propagandist for the left. How disgusting that right-wingers are forced to fund these leftist news networks through their taxes.

  4. LEADERSHIP – it’s what she’s all about.

  6. I normally do not cut and paste but this is just too tasty and will make the Palin haters twist off.

    By Dewie Whetsell, Alaskan Fisherman.
As posted in comments on Greta’s article referencing the MOVE ON ad about Sarah Palin.

The last 45 of my 66 years I have spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska. I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here is the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It is not about persona, style, rhetoric it is about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I am about to mention here.

    1. Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor’s office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican’s “Corrupt Bastards Club” (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, “la la la la” (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.

    2. Now, with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called “ACES.” Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them, “don’t let the door hit you in the stern on your way out.” They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar.

    3. The other thing she did when she walked into the governor’s office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as “pork.” She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the “when-hell-freezes-over” stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we will pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor’s jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor’s cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning – I imagine – that she’s packing heat herself). I am still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

    4. Now, even with her much-ridiculed “gosh and golly” mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it although they tried. If that does not impress you, then you are trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

    5. For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they could not start drilling. In truth, they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started. Then, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the courthouse. Alaska won again.

    6. President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewable by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona. Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, and look cool. However, that is just a cover-up. I am still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I will not be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to return to Alaska after the national election and go to work, but the haters would not let her. Now these adolescent screeches’ are obviously not scuba divers. In addition, no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Should know better.

You have just read the truth about Sarah Palin that sends the media, along with the Democrat party, into a wild uncontrolled frenzy to discredit her. I guess they are only interested in skirt chasers, dishonesty, immoral people, liars, womanizers, murderers, and bitter ex-presidents’ wives.

So “You go, Girl.” I only wish the men in Washington had your guts, determination, honesty, and morals.
I rest my case. Only FOOLS listen to the biased media.

  7. She cuts right to the chase, doesn’t she?

    A BS Free Zone.

    I love this woman!

  8. NPR has moved beyond the illusory and entered the world of pure deception. George Soros can have ALL of it as far as I’m concerned — Let NPR be remembered as yet another captured play-thing in Soros media collection. For one, I welcome the day when NPR’s monotone in-depth offerings on the migratory habits of South African Swallows are replaced with static. I can find the classical music elsewhere. Good riddance.

  9. Hee hee every so often she is just brillianty dead on.

  10. NPR can take their PC bend me over attitude and stick it. They dont get lots of govt funding but in this day and age $1 is too much for leftist propoganda that offers no real insight that we cant get in the private sector 20 times over and without tax dollars spent. This is just the tip of the iceburg. I am sick of Left wing politicians who demand conservatives list things to spend and they cant name a few. This is one PBS another along with NEA, and half of the govt that funds stuff they have no business supporting. Stop the moronic grants for studying cow farts, tunnels for turtles, chinese hookers, and the literally thousands of grants and programs that are of little or no public good and have no reaL IMPACT ON OUR LIVES. I would bet that the average person could look at the fed budget and defund 20-25% without working up a sweat and not affect the govt function a bit.

Finally I would save money by putting all existing, past and future members of Congress and senate into the regular Soc Sec system and see how they like it.

They did it to secured lenders in GM and they have screwed all of us by stealing from the SS trust . Why should they not get treated the way we have been.

Screw NPR and Juan Williams Your chickens have come home to roost !

  11. We don’t need NPR any longer. When it was instituted most Americans had 4 channels — now we have 400.

All of a sudden talking out of both sides of his mouth no longer works for Juan Williams. Today, in an effort to get his job back he called the Tea Party racists after spending months saying just the opposite. Some firings are necessary. Wouldn’t it be nice if Fox followed suit.

  12. CPB receives $90 million a year and a vast majority goes to member public radio stations – according to NPR CEO

That equates to the entire average yearly earnings of 1,429 private sector employees, or 699 public sector employees.

Stop defunding the tax payer – and start defunding the piggies at the trough!

  13. Right on, Sarah!

Considering the horrific debt that the government has rolled up in the last two years, we need to start cutting back on the frills. NPR certainly doesn’t do what it is advertised to do. It should be cut off. Citizens shouldn’t be forced to pay for government propaganda with which they don’t agree. Admittedly it’s a drop in the bucket, but it still needs to go.

  14. NPR is no longer necessary. There are plenty of radio stations, satellite radio, internet sites, as well as the dinosaur media entities still left.

It’s a relic of an era where commercial stations monopolized the airwaves. Now there are plenty of sources for news and information.

Besides, if Soros can easily buy influence and editorial content with this supposedly ‘independent’ outlet, the taxpayer no longer needs to subsidize it.

  15. Ohhh, the irony. A Kommiecrat fired and minoritys & women hurt most!!!
    Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

  16. I guess Soros’ next move will be an attempt to “eradicate” (an appropriate Progressive word) oppositional voices on Facebook?

  17. Right ooooon, Guv’ner Palin.

Let George Soros fund the WHOLE D**N THING!

  18. Q
    Mr. President, what say you?

    A

Umm..ah..uhmmm.aaa…o.oo..Bush did it ..and uhm..hmmm…and allhuakbar..

  19. The time when the country needed something like NPR has long since past. With talk radio and now satellite radio there is no lack of opportunity for news and information to reach the public.

Now with Soros bankrolling $1.8 million to fund left wing reporting it’s clear that NPR does not need the government funding that it craves.

  20. Thanks for your two cents, Militant Conservative. I knew all that and more, being an avid Palinista.

If you admit to loving the ‘Cuda, so-called “conservatives” label you a “fanboy” and say you’re just as bad as the Obots were in ’08. Not only did Sarah do everything you wrote about, she did scads more that are detailed in the early pieces listed in the archives at C4P.

She’s Reagan in a skirt. She loves this country. She’ll set things to right. If she doesn’t know the best way to proceed, she’s got the humility to ask those who DO know. She’s got the Divine Light in her. All you have to do is look at her.

  21. @ Militant Conservative your paste on on Palin by Dewie Whetsell is a eye opener, Googling his name will take you back at least to 2008, so this seems legit, would also explain Lisa Murkowski erratic and vengeful behavior. Wow new found respect and trust in Palin as a leader, no wonder the left attack her with so much hate. As for NPR or the Nationalist Progressive Retards, if they have so little regard for tax payer funding fine defund the slugs.

You are correct, I called her such when she was the VP nominee. What the true appeal and fear of Sahra is one and the same. Just like Reagan.
Love of country and sincerity of following the constitution. She just keeps getting stronger, so much so the establishment Republicans FEAR her and try to dismiss her. Ain’t happening, She won’t have to run for president. She’s going to be drafted by the governed.

She embodies that which is best both in man and America. powder is dry sarah (snappy salute)

Now do you see the propaganda machine of the MSM and how they spin the news?

Reagan was just a dumb cowboy. I’m from Oklahoma originally. I know alot of very savvy cowboys. Real one’s too. Common sense is not very common, especially in DC. See bitterclinger, when the truth is unleashed the power it has and distance it goes is immeasurable. The American public is generally able to make sound decisions IF the truth is known. The internet is now a very real danger to Democrats. powder is dry.

  26. It’s nothing but a forum to spew anti American hatred. LET’S HAVE A YARD SALE!

  27. Not calling Reagan dumb. He was and will remain the face of the 20th century’s best president. Sarah is the face of the 21st centuries first female president.

  28. Weaselzippers has a post up about how George Soros just gave NPR a $1.8 million dollar “grant” around the same time he gave MediaMatters $1 million.

Time to defund NPR and force them to change their name. I head “Air America” is available. Or perhaps “National Soros Radio” would be more fitting.

I have a feeling NPR is going to have a really bad “fundraising week” when it comes to average American citizens contributing.

    post MrGoodwench
October 21st, 2010 | 2:35 pm | #32 Had not heard it either. bittercliger if you have more to add please do. This is how conservatives fight the propaganda media. We inform. The “tune in factor” is what you have to remember. Not everyone knows what you or I know. I always repeat myself during the day, wife hates it as she remembers everything. For us normals though I have become the goto guy for the political information. Little escapes me in this rhelm. I have been a student of politics for over twenty years. The limbaugh school for advanced conservative studies for all of it. Here of late I am getting the news before limbaugh does and have the same conclusions. Critical thinking is an awesome American trait of the “winners of life’s lottery”. Some of us are just more intelligent than others, but a humble man knows he can learn from the least of us. Elitist libs never even question themselves when they fail. Seeking the light is a lifelong task. Especially for me, you’d be suprised how many people you can affect by using persuasion and the truth. This election is just such an event. the truth is out and the roaches are running for cover. powder is dry.

  31. Notice the trend here? Juan is a big lib and I don’t watch him when he’s on fox because he is just another Bob Beckel/James Carville lacky who spews the liberal agenda more often than fact. BUT look who is there to defend his rights and support him when he speaks his mind and what he believes in. I don’t see the liberals supporting him, you know the ones that he supports and thinks like. Conservatives are there to support freedom even if it involves someone on the opposite side, right is right! This isn’t about Juan personally but it is about freedom of speech and the political correctness that hinders it. Feel free to follow the president’s lead and praise islam for all the wonderful contributions they have done the world and the USA including creating 200 million jobs, saving 20 trillion dollars, ending slavery, giving women and blacks the right to vote, ending the great depression and civil rights in the 1960′s. It’s easy to claim such things when you don’t use history to fact check but why stop there when you can go on to say that muslims have created world peace, put man on the moon, ended hunger and suffering, stopped so-called man made global warming, created a language that connects the world together. Isn’t it easy to say this stuff and put islam infront of it like it’s the real deal and we all have to bow to the greatness. On wait…. one last thing I forgot that islam spread to the whole world…. freedom of speech and it’s on full display with NPR.

Rock on islam and liberals around the world pushing the sharia agenda. Soon allah willing, we (USA) can look like England where on the drudge report a story was posted that a cafe owner had a remove the cafe’s extractor fan because the smell of bacon offended muslims who now own and run the country.

“All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing”

    -Edmund Burke

  32. I’ve contacted both my senators and my representative and asked them to initiate legislation to de-fund NPR. They don’e deserve my tax dollars!

  33. I guess Sarah wanted to clarify one last time, in case it was not crystal clear the first time. Her latest tweet:
SarahPalinUSA NPR & LSM: you’re shocked at public outrage over your censorship of Juan? This is what happens when our Constitution starts shaking her fist

    My gosh, she is amazing.

  34. Let’s start the defunding with NPR, then move on to the UN.

  35. There’s a leftist-fascist disinformation campaign going on. Politico published an outright lie that Palin turned down interviews with Levin and Hannity. This is being debunked right now on Mark Levin’s show.

I smell the fetid stink of a Soros-funded operation.

  36. Pity that the presidential election doesn’t take place NOW. We (all the free people of the world) need her more than ever.

God Bless Sarah Palin! God Bless America!

  37. I sure love Sarah Palin!
    .

  38. WOW, right on que, another one over the fence.

  39. “Defunding” is a small step. More important is to make personal and corporate contributions to NPR no longer tax deductible. They should no more be deductible than contributions to the Democratic (or any other) Party. This would get their attention.

  40. If private, NPR would shortly fail like Air America.

  41. Gov Palin is a class act.

  42. National Pubic Radio becomes National Privates Radio?

  43. Defund them and revoke their charter. No tax deductions for contributors, no reserved frequencies, no automatic licencing. Let them bid and be challenged like any other station.

  44. This is the same as what I’ve been telling everybody for a long time. “Commie Radio” and “Commie Television” are nothing but enemy propaganda.

It’s time to pull NPR, PBS and the NEA off the government teat.

    http://1389blog.com/2010/10/21/its-time-to-de-fund-npr/

  45. I stopped listening much to NPR back in about 1993, when, month after month, I’d listen to environmental issues for the northwest, particularly dealing with forestry. Every story I’d hear was inaccurate, incomplete, simplistic, flawed and biased. You see, I was working both in forestry and on my master’s for the same. I was far more “moderate” back then, and tried to be as accepting of both liberal and conservative ideas. Forgive me for I had sinned.

It took months of listening for it to dawn on me there was an agenda being foisted on me about these issues by jackass reporters like NPR. It wasn’t just about naivete or ignorance regarding the environment on their behalf. In essence, it’s clearly about a half-assed, intellectually inferior manner of reporting the news and carrying on a BS, lemming narrative. Truth and accuracy have long been abandoned. Mediocrity reigns. No one reporting the “news” deserves THAT much forgiveness for what is really a piss poor product.

Fast forward to the presidential elections of 2000, when Gore tried to steal the presidency. Yes, STEAL it. I was subjected by NPR with a sob story of a mother and daughter team of ignoramuses literally in tears that they just KNEW they must have voted for Buchanan by mistake instead of Gore because the ballot was so confusing. Beyond pathetic reporting.

NPR has some reporting that’s respectable every so often, but it’s largely a mediocre product created by pseudo-sophisticates who otherwise can’t find their collective asses with either hand. They need to be privatized, try to make it on their own merit in the market place, or just plain fold. Period.

  46. I am new to this H/T kind of stuff…but I am trying so…please don’t blast me with all kinds of stuff right away. I think that I did it right. I copied this thread over on another website….and linked it back here because this is where I found it.

Also @ militant conservative….I especially highlighted your info regarding Sarah Palin. I did not ask your prior permission…so…if it upsets you…let me know and I will delete the highlighted section.

I am just trying to continue spreading the information about an amazing woman and her accomplishments.

I am getting kinda addicted to watching and listening to Sarah…it kinda scares me /sarc
