Juan Williams hosted The O’Reilly Factor tonight, two days after he was fired from the far left NPR news outlet. Williams lashed out at the network’s double standards and told the audience that some opinions are more equal than others. Williams admitted on Monday that he was nervous while flying with Muslims after 9-11. NPR thought this was extreme.

“I used to think the left wing was the home of tolerance, open-mindedness, respect for all viewpoints… But, now I’ve learned the truth the hard way.

Yes you did, Juan. Yes you did.
Juan Williams let loose tonight:

Steven Emerson and the NPR blacklist

[NO LONGER is Steven Emerson a prophet without honor in his own land. For years he warned of the threat Americans faced from radical Islamist terrorism, and for years his reward was to be snubbed, shunned, and slandered as an "Islamophobe" and a bigot. But on Sept. 11, his dire forebodings came horribly true and his phone has been ringing off the hook ever since.

    [..]

NPR blacklisted Emerson in 1998, bowing to a pressure campaign by Muslim extremists who falsely libeled him as an anti-Muslim bigot. It was an outrageous charge: Not only is it simply untrue, but Emerson always emphasizes that the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful and law-abiding. Nevertheless, NPR officials — including its national news editor — explicitly vowed to keep him off the air. “You have my promise he won’t be used again,” producer Ellen Silva wrote to Ali Abunimah of the American Arab Action Network. “It is NPR policy.”

    [..]

“NPR has consistently suppressed news stories about militant Islamic groups in the United States operating under false cover,” says Emerson, who examined the network’s coverage after it declared him persona non grata. “It has allowed radical Muslim ‘leaders’ to have their say, while ignoring the same leaders’ statements and activities in support of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad.” He documented the charge in a detailed 1999 analysis for the Journal of Counterterrorism. Other critics have reached a similar conclusion.]

[In the late 1990s, Abunimah met Barack Obama when the latter was a representative in the Illinois state senate. “He [Obama] impressed me
as progressive, intelligent and charismatic,” says Abunimah. “I distinctly remember thinking, ‘if only a man of this caliber could become president one day.’”]

    NPR’s Taxpayer-Funded Intolerance

All Americans, particularly those of Arab or Muslim
descent, should protest the firing of Juan Williams.

    By EMILIO KARIM DABUL

[It was not Muslims in traditional garb who hijacked those planes on
9/11, and it certainly was not Muslim women in veils and wheelchairs.
If anything, an Islamist terrorist wants to blend in, not stand out.

However, it was not a traditional sort of terrorist attack I feared in this case, but perhaps something unexpected: a traditional Muslim woman
in a veil, confined to a wheelchair, who was loaded with explosives.

That may make me guilty of an overactive imagination, but perhaps not. Not that many years later, a young Muslim on an international flight into Detroit tried to light explosives in his underwear.

I mention all this for one main reason. I grew up surrounded by Islamic culture, went to Islamic events, and was used to seeing women in traditional Muslim clothing, and yet when that woman appeared at the Berlin airport, I was scared.]

Muslims speak out against NPR’s political correctness

Indeed, the threat is real enough even for Fatah, a liberal Muslim,
who looks at women in burkas with skepticism. “I am scared when
I see women in burkas, how do I know what is behind that?” Fatah
said, noting that many Muslims share his concerns.

“We are victims of these guys. A number of suicide bombers who have attacked have killed people [while] wearing the burka,” Fatah said. “This is the truth, we should be speaking the truth rather than what people expect us to say.”

    [..]

“Mr. Williams spoke to this reality in an understated, candid way. He did not express hatred or incite violence against Muslims. He should not have been dismissed.”]

i’m still waiting to hear about anti-Isllamist
Muslims being invited to appear on Fox News..
perhaps as special guests of Juan Williams??

  6. A liberal that has been mugged is called a…..

Before this week I could not have picked out Juan Williams in an otherwise empty room–I don’t know anything about him.

But I gather that lots of people regard him as a standard-issue NPR liberal. Can’t argue with that, I don’t know enough to.

But I am beginning to wonder if he might be an old fashion classical liberal.

  7. Oh STFU Juan Williams , your 15 minutes are up !
You got out of a crappy contract and got into the most watched network with better pay. Its not that you are the caliber of Geert Wilders or Pamella Geller.
So zip it , enough already.
IMHO, this story should not be about Sore@$$ or NPR , but muslim brotherhood and CAIR blackmailing Americans. The focus should be on CAIR , its funding, its relationships with past , present and future jihadies , and why CAIR is not being investigated.
Its not about what Juan Williams said and on whose show, its about whose boot is on NPR’s throat. And why ? When did NPR become a puppet of CAIR ?
    As for :-
“But, now I’ve learned the truth the hard way “
You haven’t learnt anything. Just give it a few weeks, your true colors will show Mr Williams.

  8. A conservative is a liberal who has been mugged. After years of wanting Bret Hume to reach across the table and smack Juan Williams I find I like the new improved conservative Juan. Go Juan go…….

  9. Let Juan work thru his outrage first at NPR, then Soros and maybe by week three it’ll be CAIR and week 4 the hub itself, Obama.

    Works for me!

But, he better get savvy fast, because by week two it’ll be Juan the ‘Uncle Tom’ … blah blah blah blah, and he’s not really black and he’s a witch … blah blah blah .. he’s got foreign funding and he’s a ‘teabagger’ too, and geneologists have discovered he’s Sarah Palin’s fourth cousin twice removed, the purple shirts SEIU will be on his doorstep with bullhorns.

  10. Fascist biopower can’t help but drag in the psychoanalyst and mark its opponents as deviants.

We know what enemy we face. It’s only aesthetically updated from its 1930s face. Juan dared to express independence in thought from the progressive plantation.

    +++++++++++++
Juan Williams should appear on Red Eye and share his views on the hamasque @ G-0. Lets see how much he has ” learned ” from this episode :P

  12. I rarely watch The show but turned to the Fox web site for the opening bit. Williams hit back hard and rightly so. The NPR boss seemed like a typical unhinged leftist. Very hypocritical and vengeful. Be gone. I hope they get defunded from our tax dollars and are forced to make it on their own. Sink or swim on your own.

  13. OK, here it is. The YouCut NPR defund vote is up. Vote and pass it around.
    http://republicanwhip.house.gov/YouCut/

  14. bg #4 – Your article is spot on: “It was not Muslims in traditional garb who hijacked those planes on 9/11, and it certainly was not Muslim women in veils and wheelchairs. If anything, an Islamist terrorist wants to blend in, not stand out.”

Exactly. Muslim terrorists who attacked innocent civilians in Israel, London and Madrid wore normal street clothes. On one occasion in Israel, police found it hard to identify the terrorist among the victims because he had dyed his hair and used gel to give it a spiky punk look.

  15. Here is a convert.

Let Mr. Williams speak heart to heart with, oh, say, Allen West. Or Walter Williams. Or a THOUSAND other black conservatives who know the horrid truth about the Democrat party, ALL of whom are quite a ways outside the bubble of leftists that he’s likely crossed paths with, and ALL of whom he’s likely to meet and know while working for FOX.

    That segment ROCKED.

I want to see him and ‘Zo Rachel hosting a show. YEEEEEEEEAHHH!!

  16. I’m telling youse.

    This could be a watershed.

  17. “The Awakening of Black America to Exactly What Has Been Done To It, by Devious Power-seeking Democrats”

  21. He is liberal and he is brown so he should not be trusted.

  22. This is just a karma feedback for juan williams. He never had a problem smearing the conservatives. He regularly on FOX called the Tea Party racist, bigots, and teaba**ers. He regularly called anybody against obama a racist or a bigot. No juan you planted your seeds of bigotry and intolerance and now it has come back to you.

FBI informant to Congress: Investigate Ayers, Dohrn now

“My greatest fear today is that the Department of Justice (under Obama appointee Eric Holder) will protect these terrorists by blocking an attempt to bring them to justice,” Grathwohl said. “Consider that President Obama held his first fundraiser at the home of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dorhn when he was running for the state Senate in Illinois.

“Do you think there might be some resistance to placing these two people on trial for the murder of Brian McDonnell? These are President Obama’s friends. He and Bill served on a board and appeared at functions together.”

Grathwohl said a resolution would be for Congress to act.

“I urge the new Congress to create a committee or subcommittee to facilitate the efforts of law enforcement in bringing terrorists to justice. For example, a new House Internal Security Committee can assist in that regard. The Senate could consider reinstating a Senate Internal Security subcommittee. Such committees should also investigate the groups that represent a current danger to the internal security of this country,” he said.

“The Marxist terror threat has not gone away, as we have seen with the recent FBI raids on U.S.-based Marxist groups suspected of providing assistance to foreign terrorist groups in the Middle East and Latin America. Some Marxists are now openly supporting what they call ‘revolutionary Islam.’ Osama bin Laden is recommending anti-American books written by U.S. ‘progressives,’” he said.]

day, we only hear about the events the MSM considers
    “newsworthy”..

they know who the enemy is, problem is, they’re
even more cowardly than those they FEAR..

[Oh, well, I’m afraid of what the…that’s where I’m really afraid. I would like to criticize Islam much more than I do publicly, but I’m afraid for my life if I do.]

  27. actually Juan, NPR isn’t the only one and that should be obvious to you by now. I notice Juan doesn’t realize the intolerance and hypocrisy until it was done to him. What about all the others they have lied about and smeared Juan? Did you not notice that or did you agree with it?

Their intolerance and hypocrisy has been going on a long time. Sad that Juan only notices it in regards to himself. How about all the others they gave the treatment to Juan? do you think it is only you that got it or did you agree with their lies and smears at the time?

  28. Color me unconvinced. If NPR or some other lib outfit would’ve come around before Rupert Murdoch and a shiny new $2 million contract, don’t you think Juan would’ve jumped at the chance?

He may have gotten slapped down by his lib pals, but there’s no way he’s going to change a lifetime of twisted lib thinking because of one incident.

  29. I detested geraldo when he was out doing his loony lib shtick on network (only watched parts of a few broadcasts – involuntary vomiting is not on my list of favorite activities). He’s been no better on Fox. Time will tell with Juan Williams. If he’s truly had an epiphany, he’s welcome on this side of the fence. If not, he can join his former employers on the boats to China.

  34. Now, don’t anyone think I’m convinced Juan WIlliams will actually get around to the real meat of all this and “follow the money” but it just depends how much fury he has being scorned and all.

Say, did anyone note that psychiatrists and anti-depressants are a FAR bigger part of the Liberal Left world, and world view than of the world of the “rubes?” And they require ten years of twice a week expensive self-focused whinge sessions to resolve a problem a drill sargeant could cure in 3 seconds flat of “I DON’T CARE!!! GIVE ME TWENTY!!!!!”

Like, “Don’t EVERYONE have a psychiatrist?”

    What a pathetic existance!

  35. Boy, he sure did let loose!

I really enjoyed watching that last night.

Largely because I know just how he feels. I have leftist acquaintances who have been insulting me to others for a couple of years now. And it’s always a shock to be told you are something you abjectly are not.

This is how Juan Williams feels about being told to “see his psychiatrist” and being called a bigot. He so obviously is not a bigot, and has no need for a psychiatrist.

Welcome to the club, Juan. This is how it feels.

The way you actually are, the stable life and reputation you’ve built up over the years – in short, the truth about you – matters nothing to these people. They will lie about you and smear you.

And it is a startling thing to have happen to you, when in reality you have an excellent reputation and are an intelligent, principled person.

It reminds me of that other guy they drummed out. I forget who it was, but it was this government guy who was investigating some group close to Obama, and they fired him from his government post, while suggesting in a totally vile manner that he was getting senile.

Unfortunately, that guy was not well-known, so he didn’t have a lot of people leaping to his defense as Juan has had.

  37. Larry Sheldon, I’ve watched Juan for a long time now on Fox News.

The things he says and believes often make me want to tear my hair out.

But never was he not likable. Never has he spoken to anyone without respect. He even concedes points now and then.

He’s the kind of guy you wouldn’t hesitate to invite to dinner, despite that his views are so counter to yours.

  38. The real story is even more telling, a tax payer funded media is comfortable enough with this administration to fire a black man, blatantly smear him publicly, and laugh while doing so. No comments from Obama about them acting stupidly in this case, maybe because what, Soros supported this action, and that Fox is not a big fan of Socialist or Obama. Each day I’m more convinced that Obama is just a tool of Soros and his Socialist cronies. The American people elected a Socialist puppet who performs on cue for his Commie handlers. Americans need to realized while the Democraps do the dirty work, Soros a rich European white man is the real enemy of America.

  41. I actually think Juan DOES need a psychiatrist, the drill instructor one, not for fearing muslims, but for thinking the left is backing him up on his firing. On Beck Juan claimed a lot of liberals have come to his support, and then only names a couple minor editorials. Obama has not said Schiller acted stupedly. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have their big mouth shut. NAACP spokesdman called Juan a porch negro apologist. In his Wednesday interview with Georege Stephanopolous, George continued Schillers insult by conveying her apologoies to Juan’s psychiatrist and Juan had to snap back that he does not have a shrink ! You better get one Juan because you need a radical change in your world view or risk deteriorating into a useless liberal cry baby…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaFy0x_Uixo

They believe their own propaganda…let them die on the vine of self love.

  45. Juan Williams is a liberal through and through. The proof of liberal lies and politically correct B.S. is not new just because it now effects him.
I doubt he will ever be converted to anything resembling reasoned thought. I’ll tell you who can face down the lies of liberalism, that’s the black Republicans running for Congress this election cycle. They’re unabashed in pushing conservatism and denouncing socialism. We need many more like them to replace people like Williams. FOX did the right think hiring him though because it once again shows they, unlike NPR, aren’t afraid to hear other views, . Nothing like shining a bright light on liberal hypocrisy.

  46. I have a feeling that a LOT of the posters here on this thread really have no idea what the following might mean :

first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye…

There is NO difference between being a fanatic intolerant unthinking reflexive ‘conservative’ and being a fanatic intolerant unthinking reflexive ‘progressive’. No difference whatsoever. Both are ‘bad’ for the system.

Simply put I loathe reflexive, unpleasant, fanatics of all sorts. Fanatically.

Every time I listen to ‘progressives’ such as the management at NPR, it makes me appreciate ‘conservatives’, but then again every time I have to listen to so-called ‘real conservatives’ it makes me want to listen to NPR just for spite.

You go Juan. You are an old fashioned ‘liberal’ and based upon your Factor appearance last night will be a real asset to Fox in the coming years. Different opinions stated ‘nicely’, never hut anyone. ‘Real conservative’ opinion to thew contrary.I enjoyed listening to Tom Coburn last night on Juan’s show. He was polite and gracious, and made some well thought out points on publicly supported broadcasting. Can we clone him ?
