This was beautiful. Greta Van Susteren destroyed far left hack and attorney Gloria Allred on her show tonight. Great blasted Allred for her despicable hit on Meg Whitman and for using an illegal alien to smear the Whitman family.
Greta ate her lunch.
Gloria Allred did not see this coming– watch Gloria’s smile melt away about 15 seconds into the segment.
“Gloria, this is almost delusional!”
That poor abused dishonest illegal alien… Meg Whitman only paid her $23 an hour for 15 hours of work a week. Slave wages.
Even The San Francisco Chronicle today admitted that Meg Whitman did not act unlawfully.

What makes it even stranger is that the entire case that Allred is trying to push is based on … insufficient compensation for **mileage**.
That’s right **mileage**. As in Nicky used her car for various errands and supposedly wasn’t properly reimbursed.
I find it hard to credit that the amount of money to be gained in a lawsuit over insufficient reimbursement for *mileage* will amount to anything significant. How could that even remotely pay the legal bills?
And “suffering”? At $23 for light housekeeping? That’s “suffering”??

So according to her lawyer, somehow an illegal alien who had a job as a maid, who lied on the federal form she filled out (a felony), presented a forged social security card (a felony) and a forged California drivers licence (State felony I think), is willing to go to court to force her ex-employer, who employed her for about 10 years, fired her when she confessed to be an illegal alien, to cough up a cash settlement for some supposed missing mileage. How about this for a scenerio. The fact that the maid was illegally here apparently had nothing to do with the mileage claim, which as far as I know could have been litigated without ever raising the question of the illegal’s immigration status. Indeed, I KNOW there’s a lot of case law that STOPS former-employer-defendants from inquiring into immigration status in wage and hour cases so that employer-defendants won’t be able to use an illegal’s status to compel illegals to drop cases.
Allowing employers to raise the issue would encourage unscrupulous employers to hire and exploit illegals and perversely encourage the violation of wage and hour laws, or so the reasoning goes.
Was there another agenda that had nothing to do with the plaintiff’s legal interest?
Perhaps Allred can explain why her representation was professionally appropriate. If Allred won’t state it as clearly and as publicly as the accusations she publicized against Whitman, then the explanation should be provided non-publicly to a professional disciplinary committee.

Greta should also have pointed out, if she didn’t, that the letter did not say there was an illegal alien problem. In fact, it warned that it should not be construed as that, and in fact, that the employer could face legal penalties if they did treat it as being a red flag on immigration status and took action against the employee.

“This letter does not imply that you or your employee intentionally provided incorrect information about the employee’s name or SSN. It is not a basis in and of itself, for you to take any adverse action against the employee, such as laying off, suspending, firing, or discriminating against the individual. Any employer that uses the information in this letter to justify taking adverse action against an employee may violate state and federal law and be subject to legal consequences. Moreover, this letter makes no statement about your employee’s immigration status.”
1) The Whitmans were warned NOT to do anything other than rectify the discrepancy. They were specifically warned of possible lawsuits if the maid was fired.
2) The letter specifically says that the letter is not to be taken as indication of her possibly being an illegal alien.
Gloria Allred is attempting to sue them for FOLLOWING the law. Allred can get her butt fried if this ever gets to a court of law.

Apparently she’s hoping for a job in the Brown administration, because she’s just bashed a hole in her reputation as an attorney. I wonder if Jersey Shore has an opening.
She ought to be disciplined by the California Bar.
