Audience Member Hurls Book at Obama During Philly Speech

Obama’s Sunday event, before a mostly black audience, was somewhat smaller and less enthusiastic than last week’s rally in Madison.
Except for the book that was tossed at him that the AP did not report on.
It narrowly missed him.
Once again, it took the British press to report on this incident.
The Daily Mail reported:
This is the astonishing moment a book was apparently hurled at the head of U.S. President Barack Obama during a campaign rally in Philadelphia.
The flying missile narrowly missed hitting the President today.
It is not clear where it came from in the crowd.
But it is expected that there will be fallout from the security breach as the Secret Service investigates how close the President came to danger.
The rally was clearly an eventful one – other images showed a naked man being led away in handcuffs by police.
It is not clear if the man was involved in the book-throwing incident – or why he was not wearing any clothes.

I’m finding some of this hard to believe although Drudge is showing the naked man. But let’s try to get some video of the book, because if the media covered up this little event, it’s going to be something – considering how they showed the guy throwing the shoes at Bush for weeks.

Eventually facts won’t matter in incidents like these. The perpetrators will always be right wing fringe. Just like the paid Tea Party infiltrators who make up the racist fringe. Just like the people who throw rocks through democrat offices. Just like the man who broke into Carnahan’s office.

You’re damn straight somebody in either The Inner or The Outer has some ‘splainin’ to do.
After securing the incident, if the detail’s scene commander didn’t immediately and directly offer his/her resignation and apology to The President, I would be more than surprised.
Also, that nude gent is quite lucky he’s not chunks of goo on the ground where he stood, book still in his hand in the motion of throwing……. which is what should have happened when anyone attempts assault on The President Of The United States.
Maybe it’s just me and a wee bit of honor, but YOU DO NOT PHYSICALLY ATTACK THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES and live to tell about it.

The pix is really odd looking. We can actually see a barcode, but not the design on the same back cover. The barcode lines have a funny angle given the angle of the book. Is this photoshopped or digitally tinkered with?

That still looks photoshopped; as for the video, it’s hard to tell just what exactly happened, but if indeed a book (or anything) is thrown at the president — not good, not good at all.
I don’t care for the man, but respect the office. Plus, it’s a serious breach of security.

On seeing the video — I question whether or not the book was expressly thrown at him rather than just thrown out into the crowd.
I’d better not hear any screeches of concern from the media however — not after they had such a funny over the shoe thing.
