This is getting really weird…
Charles Krauthammer attacked both conservative Sharron Angle and conservative Christine O’Donnell tonight on FOX News Special Report.
Would someone please tell these Beltway GOP elites to shut their yaps.
Speaking of principled conservatism… Charles may want to review Reagan’s 11 Commandment,
“Thou Shalt Not Speak Ill of Another Republican.”
UPDATE: For the record… Angle just pulled ahead of Reid in Nevada.

That’s the problem. They’ve been in the beltway too long. Don’t want to get relegated to the B list or worse.

Boy, up until this week I always listened to whatever Dr. K had to say. It is now clear that he has been inside the Beltway too long and is now part of the Washington establishment. This is quite disappointing.

I’m afraid that we are going to find that some we held in high esteem, are going to prove to be part of the problem. I’m afraid that they had us fooled, and are just now coming out of the closet. DON’T LET THIS KEEP US FROM THROWING THE BUMS OUT IN NOV.
Joanne commented:
It doesn’t help Sharron Angle against Reid if you’re out there stating she is a bad candidate. Voters should just listen to how these two candidates stand on the issues and vote accordingly. From what I understand Sharron is a Christian and for the U.S. Constitution – heaven forbid.
Walt Gilbert commented:
Good for the ‘Hammer.
I don’t have any particular feelings about Angle, one way or the other. But, the nomination of O’Donnell is one of the most toxic events for conservatives to occur in recent memory.
Save the “Eleventh Commandment” talk for dirtbags like Mark Levin, Dan Riehl and Jeffrey Lord.

It’s like after last call and the lights have come on and now we so who these people really are. Dr. K and Rove bring about a serious case of coyote arm.

All these guys care about is control. Control of the Senate. They don’t seem to care that it’s precisely “republicans” like John the maverick, specter, and castle that have all but destroyed the republican brand. We all need to take a principled stand for what is right and not accept these little r “republicans”.

Thanks for posting this. I wanted to hear what Mr. Krauthammer would say, but Fred Barnes started talking and put me to sleep for thirty minutes.

Captain Fantastic commented:
As Palin said, “you better buck up or sit in the truck.” To which Charles condescendingly replied “or go shoot a moose.”
Fred Barnes and Charles better buck up. It’s going to be a rocky ride for them and Rove.
Chris Vehr commented:
I usually like Charles Krauthammer, but this approach reeks of good ol’ boy politics. Some staunch republicans just cannot accept the clout that has been developed by the Tea Partiers. Rove and Krauthammer’s comments will come back to haunt these candidates in the form of democrat ads in the general election.
Self-fulfilling prophecy at its finest when Rove and Krauthammer aid the dems and then say “I told ya so”.
Valerie commented:
He didn’t say anything bad about either of them. He did mention some problematic facts, which might not be controlling: O’Donnell, as of yesterday, hadn’t won before, and her opponent had. This is true, and the conventional wisdom is indeed to go with the winning type of candidate, especially an incumbent. However, it is also true that Abraham Lincoln had the same experience before he was elected President.
Similarly, Harry Reid IS neck-and-neck with Sharon Angle. He could win, but then again, he might not, particularly if she runs a better campaign that she’s shown so far. However, she WILL have to do that to win. And she may yet do that. I hope she does.
Andreas K. commented:
Different opinion -> have your head checked.
Hmmm… Interesting. Actually it sounds awfully familiar. Like the usual BS the libs always use. You’re against islam? Have your head checked. You’re conservative? Have your head checked. And so on. Very familiar.
Guess I should have my head checked as well, since I’m not so fond of Palin anymore (after her kow-towing to islam she lost a buttload of points in my book.)
“Thou Shalt Not Speak Ill of Another Republican.”
I wonder why not? What if he’s a total douchebag? Really, I’m just wondering. Can someone explain that to me? Maybe because, uh, we need to protect the party for the “greater good” of the party? Cause the party comes first! That too sound awfully familiar.
Really, I’m beginning to think that it really doesn’t matter who you vote for. They’re all the same. Thus I start to favor a form of government following the idea of dictatorship with assassination.
Chris R commented:
It takes a lot of balls for you to invoke the 11th Commandment today, Jim. You spent the last week breaking it over and over concerning Castle. There was no RINO exception, AFAIK.
Krauthammer is appropriately miffed that the GOP threw away a perfectly attainable seat in a pretty blue seat. He’s not a party operative, so he does not have to feign niceness for the sake of party unity.
Chris R commented:
Jesus Christ, conservatives calling Krauthammer a “douchebag”.
Stop the insanity. That means blaming him for your own actions.
Helen commented:
After Charles Krauthammer endorsed the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Gaza, claiming that it would bring peace and security and respect to Israel, and never admitted his mistake, everything he says should be taken with a grain of salt. So most of the times he is right, but when he is wrong he is really wrong. It’s a shame that both Charles Krauthammer and Karl Rove “act stupidly”.
neomom commented:
“Colonel Sarah, the anti-aircraft fire is getting heavy”
“I know Lieutenant Christine, it means we are over the target”
“Sergeant Sharon, prepare to drop your ordinance”
“Karl, what’s that whining noise”? “I don’t know Charles it sounds like Obama, no wait, it might be a……BOOM.
Say bye to the beltway boys and hello to the Country class.
Hedgehog commented:
Can you imagine any Liberal/Communist commentators saying that any Democrat/Communist candidate is a bad candidate? The screen would go black and suddenly they would be testing the emergency response system. Castle is a dirtbag. Charles has yet to realize that you can’t negotiate with Communists, and you can’t compromise with Communists or you lose. They are all in. They are out in the open. It is time to engage them and defeat them so that our children and theirs do not have to live under the boot of their tyranny. Charles should stop being so damned analytical about election calculus and start thinking about the fact that Americans, who greatly outnumber the Communists, the elites, and the biscuit eaters (dogs that don’t hunt), are angry, motivated and ready to stop the con game. We do not want the “New World Order”.

Annaleesea commented:
Unless Krauthammer knows something that we don’t know, his logic is absolutely flawed and he may be one of the “beltway boys”. What is the diff if you have a true “Repub” as opposed to one who votes with dems 95% of time? Its a push… Take the high road
PhilipJames commented:
Well, it finally is now out in the open. The old farts like Rove, Krauthammer and even that jerk Barnes from the Weekly Standard (which was one of the worst slingers of smear against O’Donnell) are now exposed for what they are… the establishment that has to be kicked out and disposed of. It may end up in a mini-war, but so be it if this is the sort of support the Movement gets. Screw them.

Its like Krauthammer is a conservative with no passion. he doesn’t seem to mind that the country was hijacked by marxists, that we should still futilely plug along like in the past with moderate candidates even if it means that when the Rep’s win a majority that the result is merely Democrat “light”.

I thought my brother was off his rocker and a congress critter was blowing smoke up his ass. Now I think there is a more incideous plot that the TEA PARTY is screwing up. WE the people are fixing what is wrong AND distroying the power bases of those on the left and the supposed right that have conspired to distroy America. I trust my instincts and they tell me the public is spot on and dangerously close to distroying decades of progressive dreams at the last moment. Some of you are late to the party. We’ve had a Republican President and Republican Congress before. How did that work out?
The only policy that will give us a true small-government, conservative Republican party is the scorched earth policy. Who cares if O’Donnell can win the general election? RINO heads on spikes is the only message the Republicans will pay attention to. Do you want to waste another decade waiting for the beltway, establishment Republicans to get with the program? To hell with that, and to hell with them.

How long will it be before Krauthammer actually starts advising people to vote for Reid over Angle, or Coons over O’Donnell? Or has he somehow lost sight of the fact that running your own party’s nominee down on television might influence people not to vote for your own party’s nominee? Or maybe he’s already decided that the election has already been lost.
Or maybe he really is more comfortable with Reid and Coons winning than he is with Angle and O’Donnell winning, is happy to run down the Republican nominees as much as possible, and maybe is prepared to run guilt trips on the primary voters in Nevada and Delaware should he and the members of his clique in DC succeed in talking the voters into re-electing Democrats instead.
Ugh. Too bad we can’t primary Charles Krauthammer out of his job.

Charles is right if he’s viewing the candidates as professional politicians. After all, the tea party candidates don’t have much if any political experience. It’s not a badge of honor to have been a politician your whole life and never held a job or lived in the real world. I don’t think political pundits get it. I don’t think MSM gets it. Democrats tend to circle the wagons around all their corrupt, flaky, moronic, and radical candidates, insisting that they’re upstanding, brilliant centrists.
When BHO was on his march to the White House, some people commented on his inexperience, but did any prominent Democrats point out that he’s on the left fringe of politics and has a shady past and a habit of dissembling? No. They kept insisting that he’s a great statesman who represents the heart of America.
Republicans need to learn when to zip it and keep their doubts inside. Otherwise, they’re just helping the leftopaths who masquerade as the reasonable center.

What makes Krauthammer’s commentary on O’Donnell so strange is that it is happening AFTER the primary. IF ANY of this was as clear, and destructive, as these supposedly impartial ‘experts’ are now claiming WHERE were they BEFORE the primary?
As for Krauthammer’s attack on Angle, he sits inside the beltway and quotes polls without ever having TALKED or LISTENED to Angle himself.
Krauthammer is as isolated from the races around the country as the rest of the Republican insider crowd.

I have read all the comments. Interesting the vehemence shown by so many. RINO’s are no benefit to the country nor to the Republican Party. It conservatives lose, at least they will have lost running on their principles. If Republicans could be counted on to oppose the liberal (progressive) Democrats (are there in conservative or even moderate Democrats left?), that would be one think, but, if a Republican is going to go along or help the radical agendas of the Democrats, no use to get one of them elected.
