Did Sarah Palin get booed on Dancing With the Stars last night?
Some people think so.
Here’s the video:

UPDATE: No.

  1. No boo’s, I put on my earbuds and turned up the volume. This does not boad well for the left. powder is dry.

  2. Margaret Cho was up next?

I suspect that is part of the reason why those kids in the audience booed Sarah.

If anyone ever watched ‘How Obama Got Elected’ there were only 2 names the kool-aid drinkers were familiar with: Obama and Sarah.

  3. I thought the booing was probably for the scores for Jennifer Grey and her partner. The judges raved about the routine, which was fantastic, and then gave it all 8s. I think most people expected at least 9s.
Leave it to the LSM to make it about Palin.

  4. The Boos came right when the lights hit her sitting with bergeron, right efore they cut to her… That is why grey was confused about why they were booing… It was out of sequence for anything happening on the show… But sarah wasnt on camera yet, only in a spotlight… It was definitely booing of sarah by creeps in the crowd…

  5. We love you, Sarah.

  6. Something happened later in the show following Bristol’s dance, too. I couldn’t figure it out, but it was probably more boo-ing by some deranged audience members. Very, very rude…

Truth be told, I’ve never regularly watched this show in the past, and the only reason I am now is to support Bristol. (Thank goodness for the DVR!) I noticed that last night she was the very last dancer…ratings boost!!

  7. Yes, I think they booed her when Bergeron went to sit next to her. That’s OK. I hope she is keeping a list. When the good commies of Ca. decide they need another 10 billion to stay afloat, President Plain will hit the bill with a veto stamp. Payback’s a, well, you know.

  8. Jim….love your your blog but the “congratulations! You won!” ad that wakes the dead has got to go….

  9. The boos were probably for Sarah. It’s the flip side of her charisma. She drives them nuts.

Would they boo Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty, Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels, or Paul Ryan?

Sarah scares them, and they respond ungraciously, as you’d expect.

  10. Booing a Mom there to support her oldest daughter and with her other little girl next to her.

Way to keep it classy liberals.

  11. Yea that Congratulations You Won ad is causing my computer to not load this site properly and it locks up internet explorer. It has got to go, plus it does scare the cat.

  12. Low lifes in every crowd…

  13. I love Sarah Palin, don’t get me wrong. But….she sounded very fake last night on TV, and the relationship between mother and daughter is ice cold.

I don’t think the intellectually disabled left will pick up on this, as they ALL would rather murder their babies and your babies rather than have to take care of them, but it was pretty obvious to a mother of teenage daughters that this was uncomfortable for the both of them.

  14. The boos were not for Sarah. They were for low scores posted for Jennifer Grey, that happened to post just then. Sarah was already seated on stage. The stupid paper is making a big deal out of this, but it didn’t happen.

  15. Yup, that sounded like boos for SarahCuda to me. It happened when Tom took his seat next to her.

Oh well, they don’t call it “La La Land” for nothing. A classless move for an otherwise classy show.

  16. There certainly were no boos at her introduction.

  17. According to that Daily Beast article, Sarah was “sporting a stunned look and shaking her head. I didn’t see any stunned look or head shake, her face had the same look of joyful optimism it always has and she was looking at the judges when the camera cut to her.

  18. ++

    boos??

    who cares??

the cheers were much louder & longer!!

  19. From ABC News:

Was Sarah Palin Booed on ‘Dancing with the Stars’?
    September 28, 2010 9:34 AM

Bergeron (Host of Show)said it wasn’t Palin who spurred the booing, but that audience members felt Grey should’ve gotten a higher score. But Grey got the top scores of the night.

When asked about the booing, executive producer Conrad Green told the Washington Post that if it was aimed at Palin, it would’ve continued once the interview started, “rather than doing it before, and then wimping out.”

    There you have it…..

  20. Here’s my take on the ad. I thought that Jim would not allow some fake ad to run on his blog so I clicked in on it and it said WalMart but I was to give my e-mail address!!!! I first clicked into the Privacy Policy/Your California Privacy Rights. (huh….I don’t live in California.) How do we collect information and what information do we collect?

    We use “cookies”
    May use “pixel”

I was going to try to cut and paste all of it but I do not know if I am allowed to.

Jim…… am I way off base here? I sure thought I really won something! DID NOT PUT MT E-MAIL ADDRESS IN THE BOX…..GOT OUT!

  21. I don’t know if the booing was aimed at Mrs. Palin, but the woman behind her sure looked constipated. Maybe Jamie Leigh could give her some Activia.

  22. I watched the show, and IMO,the booing was because Jennifer and Derek only got 8′s. Their routine was perfect, yet they didn’t score much better than the couple who danced before them (who danced okay, but no where near as well as Jennifer and Derek). They definitely deserved 9′s.

I think the audience is much more well behaved as far as how gracious they are to the dancers and the “celebrity” family members. I can’t imagine they were booing against anyone. They cheered Bristol a lot after her dance. Which leads me to believe it was because they were disappointed in the scoring.

  23. The boos were definitely for Palin. There was way too much time between the scores and the boos. Is anyone really surprised? Clearly deranged liberals in the audience. ABC is spinning the facts as usual.

  24. The real question is: Does the network have a “Boo!” sign like they do “Applause!”?

  25. I thought that the booing was for the low scores that Jennifer Grey received. Of course, it will all be turned around to suit liberals’ agenda.

  26. I thought that the boos were because Gray’s
scores were too low, however, when the camera cut to Palin I immediately thought
that the pundits would jump at the chance to say the boos were because of Palin. And here we are! By the way, when they introduced Palin shortly after the boos, the applause was loud. You can’t have it both ways!

I too thought there might be some awkwardness between Palin and Bristol – I don’t think Palin wanted to sit there in that audience while her daughter seeks fame riding on her mother’s hard work as city council member, mayor, head of Alaska’s Oil & Gas
    Commission and Governor.

It must be tough to be the type of mom who
discusses her career choices with all of her family and then have her daughter not consult her prior to some of Bristol’s pursuit of fame/money/attention.

That said, Bristol danced well. What a relief -
I think some of us are on “pins and needles” waiting for Bristol to make a fool of herself
and embarrass Palin whom many of us hopes
runs for office again. And on that note, many on the left are upset that she didn’t!

And Piper as always looked adorable.

The grandmother showed up for the first show,
Palin for the second; I am interested in seeing
who shows up in subsequent shows if Palin is not eliminated. She should be safe for at least two more shows.

  27. When a mom who happens to be famous and loved by many – yet hated by some in the public who disagree with her politics appears at an event to support her daughter – I would have thought that even the most rabid leftists would be gracious and not boo. But I was wrong. The type of persons who would boo a person like that on national T.V. during a pleasant dancing competition are despicable – to say the least.

I was in the audience of DWTS a few years ago and we were encouraged to dress nicely and be polite. There were people introduced in the audience who I didn’t like and disagreed with politically, but I would NEVER have booed them during the taping of the show.

If those boos were aimed at Sarah Palin (and I think they were – like Bailey wrote, “There was way too much time between the scores and the boos.”) then someone involved in the show needs to apologize for it next week.

However, it appears that the execs at ABC are not willing to offer an apology to Gov. Palin for the disgraceful attitude of some in the audience. They hid behind their desks and lied about it.

The slogan at ABC is “a new kind of family.” Apparently, that means a rejection of normal conservative families like the Palins and the embrace of the rude, bombastic, rabid, liberal leftist lunatic fringe types as this new kind of “family.” How sad and tragic.

  28. It’s been debunked both by ABC and the shows host, Tom Bergeron. The boos were not for Sarah. In fact , if you watched it, you can see and hear that when Bergeron introduces her, there is cheering and applause and lots of smiling faces in the audience. I bet it gets debunked this on evening’s show as well.

Just because some of the fringe left loons wish and say something is so, it doesn’t mean it is. Another failure.

  29. The applause for SP was tepid, not loud. And it likely represents that some in the audience were for her, some against her. And it is just like lefties to boo when they know they’re off cam and to NOT do it when they can be seen by the tv audience.. Its like protesters with masks on. Courage when anonymous. Cowards.

  30. Curth,

I have been at a taping of the show. Things can be manipulated. For instance, the performances by musical guests are usually taped first and presented on T.V. later in the show.

It is possible that the audience was told not to boo (again) before the interview was done. The only way to know for sure is to ask people who were actually there in the audience.

  31. Sarah Palin has great kids – I just love her little girl.

    Same here.

  33. Game set and match. The fringe left fails and looks like a gang of fools. Again.

Given the negative reaction to those boos heard during last night’s telecast of Dancing with the Stars, the producers will go the extra mile during this evening’s telecast and show that the crowd was directing their disdain toward the judges, not the visiting Sarah Palin. Many viewers apparently misunderstood that the boos were meant for Palin, who had attended the show to watch her daughter Bristol and was later interviewed on camera by host Tom Bergeron.

Bergeron told EW today that the audience actually had a bone to pick with the judges and the scores they gave Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough. “We are going to show footage from another camera angle. Thank God we had a camera on the grassy knoll!” quips Bergeron. “You’ll see the judges basically taking on the audience. They were upset that they gave Jennifer Grey an 8.

  34. Told ya. Boos were for the judges, not Sarah.

  35. Yeah but….

I went over to The Daily Beast link and read this:

    pludger
Actually, YOU’RE wrong. Audience members report they were booing Palin, but the network put out the fire by saying it was over scores. Firsthand, eyewitness accounts from those who were actually there say that it was totally an anti-Palin boo…

I watched the portion on tonight’s show where they tried to make it about the “8′s” received by the dancers. Trouble is, the people in the audience were cheering LOUDLY as each judge revealed their individual scores, then the booing started.

Whatever. Cover-ups are nothing new – especially when it has become an uncomfortable controversy.

  36. Yeah but…

I just went to the Daily Beast and Shushannah Walshe reported (With the video) that Boo-Gate was in fact directed at the judges.

People are directed to cheer and applaud…so they did so automatically when the scores came up…until they came to their own senses and realized that Derek and Jennifer got screwed. So they boo’ed the judges. If you look at the complete video, it’s obvious! Plus, I don’t know “who” the audience members were that were “interviewed.” Who are the so-called “first hand eyewitnesses”? Do they have names? Or will they remain anonymous in the so-called reliable source listed above?

But you’re right…whatever…I just am disturbed when people want to make it about how much Sarah is supposedly hated, when at least in this case, it’s just not true.
