Vatican Official: "Islam Will Sooner Or Later Conquer Majority of Europe"

A Vatican official told the media this week that Islam will sooner or later conquer a majority of Europe.

Europe will grow more “Islamicized” if Christian Europeans do not start having more children, and going back to Church, a senior Vatican official said this month. Msgr. Piero Gheddo, a famous missionary and an official with the Vatican’s Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions, told Zenit news service that Europe’s indigenous inhabitants have abandoned Christianity and are becoming “paganized.”
“The fact is that, as a people, we are becoming ever more pagan and the religious vacuum is inevitably filled by other proposals and religious forces,” said Msgr. Gheddo, who founded AsiaNews, the Christian missionary news service. As religious practice diminishes in Christian Europe, “indifference spreads; Christianity and the Church are attacked.”
“If we consider ourselves a Christian country, we should return to the practice of Christian life, which would also solve the problem of empty cradles.”
Msgr. Gheddo pointed to demographic statistics showing that the population of native Italians is decreasing by 120,000 or 130,000 a year “because of abortion and broken families.” At the same time, 200,000 legal immigrants a year are moving into Italy. More than half of these, he said, are Muslims who continue to have the large families that Italians now eschew.
“Newspapers and television programs never speak of this,” he said. “However, an answer must be given above all in the religious and cultural fields and in the area of identity.”
Msgr. Gheddo was responding to the taunts of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, who angered many on a recent official visit to Italy when he said that Europe should convert to Islam. He gave a lecture to 500 young women, who had been paid to attend, in which he urged them to convert and offered to find them Muslim husbands in Libya. The comments were denounced by Archbishop Robert Sarah, secretary of the Vatican Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, who called them a “provocation.”
But Msgr. Gheddo warned that the provocation could well have been a mere prediction.
“No newspaper – except Avvenire, the newspaper of the Italian Episcopal Conference – has seriously taken into consideration how to respond to this challenge of Islam, which sooner or later will conquer the majority in Europe,” he said.
Recent surveys conducted in Italy by local Catholic dioceses have found that the much-quoted number of Italians claiming to attend Mass weekly, 30 percent, can be deceptive. In Venice, it was discovered that the number of those actually attending is closer to 18 percent, and the numbers drop dramatically among younger Italians.
Libyan tyrant Gaddafi called Europe to Islam during his recent trip and demanded that they pay the jizya.

I agree and disagree with you at the same time. You’re correct: Islam is not a religion. But I don’t think it’s a satanic cult either. It (to me, at least) is nothing more than a political ideology created by a desert warlord many centuries ago to control his tribe for military and political conquests. Although he could neither read nor write (according to records of the time) he was clever enough to know how to use spiritual intervention through visions to control his people. That’s why everything in the books of Islam must be taken at face value and believed as truth without question.
The god they worship is an extension of the moon gods that the desert people worshiped for centuries before Mo came along. And there were quite a few moon gods so it was natural for Mo to say that he was hearing from the one, true god which, again gave him the absolute power.
As for the statement by the Vatican, it makes sense. At least, that is, if you consider the plan in place by the Islamic world to overpopulate the West. Then, being the good, tolerant citizens we are, we will allow their numbers to control the vote which will eventually allow them to bring in Shariah and do away with democracy since the two are totally incompatable. Only time will tell if the West will see this in time and prevent it. My fear is that we will fight amongst ourselves while the Islamists sit on the sidelines waiting for the right moment.

Mark Steyn has been saying the same thing for years, that given their failed demographics, Europe will soon be under the sway of Islam but no one took him serious. Now that others are saying the same maybe the people will take it seriously, but it may be too late to reverse the trend.

i am sorry if this may offend people, and don’t think i am a bigot for saying it, but it must be said. i absolutely agree with Em, the more i delve into understanding islam the more perverted it seems to be. if there were a form of religion that the devil would subvert for his purpose, islam would seem to be that religion.21st century christians no longer have the backbone. we preach dialogue and understanding. islam preaches subjugation by the sword. the clash between islam and other religions almost seems to be a biblical eventuality.

The Triguy – it all depends how you look at the world. If you believe good and evil, God and Satan, respectively, exist, then it is plain to see that Islam indeed is a worship of evil. Muslims can refer to Allah as their God, but calling Satan by another name does not change who they worship. You just have to take a look at what they believe – lying, raping, murdering, pedophilia, beastiality, abuse of women, honor killing, and on and on. If God is love and Satan is hate, then the God of Islam is Satan.
As for the Pope calling for people to go to Church and having children, he is referring to people attending to the Roman Catholic Church; he isn’t referring to people attending a Protestant church. People should return to God and obey His commandments, but we are a stubborn people and it will be muslims, the servants of Satan, our enemies, who will be used to punish us for our wickedness. The Bible states we will call God early, so things must get bad quickly for us to cry out early…..but we will. That’s what they’ve been banking on: that we would not take them seriously enough (and many, many people don’t). Europe has shrugged its shoulders “we aren’t attacked, so everything is fine” at the threat to the U.S. and Israel; the only “European” countries that have responded to any great degree are the old British Crown countries, and they are in a mess. So, to an extent are we. Russia and India have their own issues at home (this is often underreported — but there is a growing Muslim problem in both countries) and really aren’t all that concerned about anyone else anyway (and why should they be?). China, the Far Asian countries, S. America could care less at this point.
The Muslims have thus far managed a good job of cutting the sheep away from the sheepdogs, and proceeded to enfeeble the sheepdogs (with the acquiescence of the sheep). The time is nearly ripe to shear the flock.

There are only two spiritual roots – it is pretty clear which the left and Islam belong to. What do they both have in common – hate and superiority complexes. Muslims believe they are morally superior to all non-muslims and the left believe they are just plain superior to everyone.

It seems to be the same fundamental problem as we have here in the U.S.: instead of solving the problem (stopping immigration, or at least reducing it especially when native populations are suffering unemployment and economic crisis), we try to figure any other way around it. The real fact is, that the Vatican’s minions, all those cardinals and bishops, are welcoming islam. They say that islam brings god back into society and that is a good thing.
In Germany they hold an “inter-religious dialogue” (called “Dialüg” by German critics of islam, a word play on the German word for dialogue “Dialog” and the word for to lie “lügen”)
In Austria they actively work against the law and demand that we take in more and more “refugees” from the usual suspect countries and if people say something against it the prists, cardinals and bishops are among the first to scream “human rights!”
The fact is that the Vatican and all its minions are actively helping islam to spread in our countries. They’re certainly not standing against it. Resistance comes from citizens, from Christians, Jews, Atheists and even former mohammedans. They are the ones standing up. BPE, the Citizens Movement Pax Europa, is the best example. The EDL as well.
Mohammedans have lots of kids in our countries. Why? Because our countries pay masses of money for having kids. And the leaders of the Christians churches support this. They are also partly responsible for this. I just need to look at Austria. Here the Catholic church, together with the commies and the green party fascists, screams about a “new poverty” that they claim to grow among the people, thus the government must pay even more money to the people. That, of course, attracts more mohammedans.

Msgr. Piero Gheddo should SFTU and go to Berlin Neukölln or any of the other no-go areas in Europe. Oh, he won’t go there of course. None of those responsible for the chaos ever do that. He’ll just continue to sit in his palace and talks smack, just like the rest of the religious leaders across Europe. I haven’t seen him in and protests against mosques or against islam in general.

Andreas K. – you just have to look at that stupid Archbishop of Canterbury in England to know what you say about the churches is true – at least to an extent – if the top has the ‘Thatchers’ to speak out for Islam, then it is probably mainstream in the smaller churches.

The German blog “politically incorrect” has several guest articles from people who were at discussion forums about islam (which are usually not used to spread fact, but rather propaganda and lies) and whenver someone in those is ciritical of islam, you can bet that some Christian priest, who’s there, will pull an idiot and defend islam. That one chapel here in Vienna that I wrote about some time ago? The restistance against tearing it down to replace it with a multi-faith prayer room doesn’t come from the higher ups in the church. It comes from the people and the local priest. But the cardinals and bishops, well, the local bishop (I think it was, could have been a cardinal, would have to look it up) has already ordered the priest to stand down so that the chapel can be torn down.
It’s the people who’re rising up, not the clergy. The clergy is happily hugging the islamo-fascists.

Andreas — I do not doubt a thing you say, because I have seen and heard it for myself. The Church (actually most churches) in Europe are not lily pure in this. I do know that there are Europeans who would stand up against what is happening, who are.
The two things I fear the most are: it is already too late, and that the strong horse(s) that could help matters is/are already enfeebled and at loose ends, thus of no help.
There is still hope, but I’m not going to be overly optimistic at this point.

We will soon be losing this thread but I want to say, that I didn’t mean to say the Isalm wasn’t a cult. It is as are most out-of-the-mainstream political and social organizations. I just don’t associate it with satan. If you look at what Andreas has said so clearly (and I admire his conviction: when I get to Vienna next I hope we can meet, I’d be honored to buy him coffee and cake!) it’s the church and the libs that have given much of Islam the results it has achieved politcally and socially. Islam as a political organization or cult, whichever label you want to give it, is brilliant in its war strategy which is: turn your enemies perceived strength into their weakness. They think that democracy will allow them to do whatever they want until they are in a position to take over by pure demographics alone. I have hope that we will be strong at the Gates of Vienna once again. And I know I will not be alone when I make my stand wherever it may be.
