After it was reported that the unemployment rate rose to a record 9.6% in August, Barack Obama told reporters today that, “The economy is moving in the right direction.”

Remember how he and his brigade talked about how the polls, and governor losses in New Jersey and Virginia and Scott Brown’s win in Massachusetts meant that people wanted even more done on the health care bill? High unemployment means high agitation.
The October surprise saved their bacon, their losing campaign, in 2008. The right hasn’t won yet, so let’s see what happens between now and the election to see just how stupid Obama and his friends are being.
I suspect something major will occur between now and then. Hopefully the country isn’t stupid, and still takes the House back, but I suspect our gains might not be as great as they seem they will be right now.
