President Obama attacked the most-watched cable news outlet in the nation today calling it “destructive.”

Unreal.
CBS reported:

In this month’s cover story for Rolling Stone magazine, President Obama weighs in on the cable network Fox News, saying that while he can’t object to the network carrying out its constitutional right to freedom of the press, he thinks it promotes a perspective that is “ultimately destructive for the long-term growth” of America.

“Look, as president, I swore to uphold the Constitution, and part of that Constitution is a free press,” Obama laughed, in response to a question from Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner about whether or not Fox News was “a good institution for America and for democracy.”

We’ve got a tradition in this country of a press that oftentimes is opinionated. The golden age of an objective press was a pretty narrow span of time in our history. Before that, you had folks like Hearst who used their newspapers very intentionally to promote their viewpoints,” Mr. Obama said. “I think Fox is part of that tradition — it is part of the tradition that has a very clear, undeniable point of view.”

Mr. Obama, whose relationship with the cable network has in the past been rocky — former White House communications director Anita Dunn at one point called it “the communications arm of the Republican party” — made no concessions in regard to his dissatisfaction for the content of the network’s coverage.

  1. And the press that works for you is not opionated? What? Are you still smoking dope?

  2. It’s so pathetic I’m almost embarrassed for him.

  3. So Obama goes on his official airwave, CBS, to share his opinion that other networks have opinions.

  4. There’s a reason only 12% of cable watchers tune into MSNBC

  5. BWAHAHAHAHAHA, We are the conservative boogyman. We so own your sorry butt, Obama.
Your going down cuz its either us or you and WE are voting you off the island. Easy choice too, Either the socialist failed never worked anywhere experiment. Or the American dream that has gotten us to where we are today. Thanks for scaring America awake. NOW America sees YOUR vision for America is not THEIRS.
powder is dry, resistance is futile.

  6. Classic transparent liberal hypocrisy. Anything that presents a point of view that opposes big government, high taxes, socialized medicine and carbon tax is “destructive”.

But at the same time, anything that opposes the conservtive point of view of smaller government, lower taxes, free market medicine, is encouraged.

Obama has never had a job where he has received an objective performance evaluation. This November, he will receive one from The People. Lets see then who thinks who is destructive.

  7. This guy is a emotionally disturbed nut.

  8. “Ultimately destructive for the long term growth of America” ?

What he REALLY means is that FoxNews is “ultimately destructive” of his long term plans to convert the United States of America to the United Soviet Socialist States of America.

In other words, Fox won’t go along 100% with his propaganda. . .

  9. Objective press? When was this? When the big 3 Networks and the NYT set the news? Objective my Irish arse.

  10. So let me get this straight: If you’re an outlet for obama propaganda, you’re credible. If you are not, you’re an enemy of the state?

I think that the great apologist must be perplexed by the loss in ratings by the propagandist stations and the rise in Fox’s popularity.

It’s time to end the ObamaNation in my opinion.

  11. When has Fox ever passed any legislation??

  12. Mr. Obama’s election was wholly due to the cynically biased and over-the-top efforts of the mainstream media, first to turn public hatred onto President Bush, then to bathe Obama in an unearned – and unexamined – adulation.

Now he hears one tiny voice of dissent in the press (Fox is dwarfed by the combination of ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, NPR, MSNBC, the NYT, the LAT, WaPo and every union bulletin in the country).

He would prefer unity – all adulation, no dissent. His First Amendment remarks are for form’s sake – as were his lordly assertions that we’d all keep our current policies under Obamacare, and that the costs would drop.

Watch that buzzard, he doesn’t mean what he says.

  13. Bye Bye..Jacka_s

  14. “Look, as president, I swore to uphold the Constitution, and part of that Constitution is a free press,” Obama laughed,
    ………………….

“Laughed.” THAT accurately sums up his true position.
Proof of how much Obama respects his “oath of office” :
Obama has a Constitutional duty as POTUS to “preserve the domestic tranquillity,” but he is orchastrating with his administration AND his political party, the Democrats,AND the Democratic-dominated MEDIA, a toxic, divisive, damaging propaganda campaign and boycott expressly designed to “HURT” against Arizona. He’s pitting cities, states and citizens against each other, and feeding the public thru the media corrosive rhetoric to incite “race war”
    — the cynical method to try to use mob violence to upend lawful processes.

He “laughs.” Yuh. Ha-ha. right. WORSE president EVER in this history of this nation, the only one who doesn’t care ANYTHING about WE the PEOPLE.

  15. I’ve got one thing to say to this POS….. F*ck You.

  16. Uphold the Constitution?!
It’s just lucky I didn’t have anything in my mouth.

  17. this board never fails to amuse me. This has to be one of the better collections of partially educated people in America

  18. Victor Davis Hanson has an article predicting this type of behavior in our infantile chief executive.

He, and Michelle, will lash out ever more bitterly as criticism of his screwball agenda becomes more vocal.

I think we can expect a lot more of this after the mid-term elections. He will blame everyone but himself. And, of course, we will all be condemned as racist, stupid, and provincial.

Perhaps he would have better luck ruling Kenya. But does Kenya have an Air Force One equipped for endless parties?

  19. I love when liberals try to tell everyone how smart they are and how dumb conservatives are. It is just like a guy who runs around always proclaiming how tough he is but the first time he gets in a fight he gets worked.

Tough guys never tell anyone how tough they are. Same with intelligent people.

  20. I assume the Republicans will win big in November, despite already-documented attempts at voter fraud by the SEIU and whatever new name ACORN is operating under.
My prediction is that Obama will then say that the Republicans won because the Democrats hadn’t done enough to promote more socialism. Isn’t that how he interpreted Scott Brown’s win, and the Republican governships in NJ and Virginia?

  21. Hey Mothra,

Book larnin’ don’t have nuthin’ to do with horse sense.

  22. All it takes is one. One news organization whihc will tell the truth.

Watch out, Chavez had the same problem, and the Venezuelan stations have now been closed, the people jailed or in some cases killed.

  23. “Let me be clear, as citizen and as president.”
“Being American is not a matter of blood or birth.”

Barry said in Kenya in the back of a pickup truck with cousin campaigning…..

“Democracy can’t work without freedom of the press and freedom of information.”I think this was while he was a state senator.

This was on u-tube a few months back…I wish that someone could find it and put it out again and again.

  24. Also from this interview:

“It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world.”

Once again Barky tries to throw America off the scent of premeditated destruction. You see he is all about having a vibrant middle class and a competitive economy; he only wants what’s best for the taxpayer; he wouldn’t try to destroy America.

Or perhaps Dear Leader is just saying that if America can become a third world country, Fox News will cease to be a problem.

  27. Blah blah blah…. every time that you bash Fox news, Fox’s ratings go up.

Every time that you bash the Tea Party our numbers go up.

Every time that you blame Bush, your numbers go down.

We The People will never submit !!!!

  28. Yeah I like fly by’s like chkn sht who is calling himself mothra today. They have NOTHING to say, they just fly on past and drop a load.
    That exhibits HOW MUCH intelligence??

  29. Hey Mothra,

What did Barry say that wa so intellectual? Was it his love for the constitution which he calls a bill of negative liberties? Was it that we have a tradition of an open and free press, which he now calls an “opinionated” press?

Help me understand how itellectual he is and those on this site are not. Or are you using the old liberal tactic that says if you can’t argue with them, call them names.

Loved your movie, by the way. He was always one of my favorite monsters!

  30. Gman, Slayer of Trolls. “Tough guys never tell anyone how tough they are. Same with intelligent people”.
    Well Said!!!

I think this is more sinister. Fox is conservative compared to Obama but not to NEOMOM. This Admin has gone to the Alynski well one to many times. It is dry. They must take the next step and will use regulatory Czars to do so. We need to start asking ourselves at what point do we as a group or individuals intervene.

  31. Hey, al-Bama, take some of your own advice and “buck up”.

Better see if your Zen Master Alinksy wrote a sequel telling you what to do when the jig is up.

  32. BO knows that truth will be his undoing. Let the Republicans win the House and the investigations will fully expose his henchmen, and his own dishonesty.

  33. It is the federal government that has become destructive. The federal government has become so large that any action it takes is destructive of freedom.

Both parties have led us to this point, where the business-government nexus has become the preeminent interest group. Business takes money from taxpayers for profit, and government takes taxpayer money for its re-distributive agenda. In addition, we have liberal interest groups receiving vast sums of taxpayer funds for their socialist agendas.

Obama is at the forefront of this mad grab for power money. Since the agendas cannot possibly be funded, let alone implemented, he is leading the destruction of American freedom by enabling the tyrannical web of regulation and debt to engulf us all.

Debt and regulation are the imminent threat to freedom.

  34. this board never fails to amuse me. This has to be one of the better collections of partially educated people in America

Dear unintentionally funny but hilarously portrayed Japanese movie monster: we have more education than your average giant flying insect, and it’s apparently sufficient to see through the BS of our most flawed and fraudulent President ever. Now go fly into a giant candle flame or something.

  35. Destructive? What, like moral relativism? Like forced collectivization? Like vilifying all who dare dissent?

Obama is revealing himself as a hater. What a small man.

  36. Obama is growing increasingly frustrated with the constitutional restrictions placed on his ability to control the economic lives of Americans – as is his desire. He would be so much more comfortable as a dictator. You can see that in so much of what he says and does. Perhaps he now begins to understand only that kind of power can give him what he needs to “fundamentally transform” this country.

As his power abates, he will become either fatalistically disinterested in all things presidential and further remove himself from the tasks of governance. Or he will look to acquire (by hook or by crook) the power necessary to achieve his aims. I think it will likely be the former – simply because Obama is, at core, a lazy man.

But, regardless of the path he takes, the next two years will be as dangerous as any two this Republic has ever seen. For we will have as President, either an indifferent weakling or an amoral tyrant.

  37. You know, I used to get upset at Bush for not responding to the incessant – and often insane – criticism from the Left and their lackeys in the press.

But after watching nearly two years of this guy’s whining, I’ve come to realize just how small and petty it would’ve been for Bush to do so.

  39. Thank God for Fox and great bloggers like Jim Hoft for telling the truth so that we’re not limited to Barry’s state run propaganda. Barry’s assault on free speech is frightening…….and it backfires and fires up all of us patriots to take our country back.

  40. Wow! What a complete unabashed idiot!! He doesn’t care how foolish he sounds, he just likes the sound of his own gurgling too damn much!

So, President Genius, what say you about MSNBC, CBS, ABC and the promotion of their opinions? Oh…that’s right, they are just your extended mouthpiece, so they are okay!!

I wish this guy would somehow be incapacitated, and I don’t care how. He is too out of the mainstream and doesn’t deserve to be heard from again.

‘“Look, as president, I swore to uphold the Constitution, and part of that Constitution is a free press,” Obama laughed, in response to a question from Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner about whether or not Fox News was “a good institution for America and for democracy.”’

WHY is he laughing? Was it a nervous laugh, that people generally use to try to smooth over a blatant lie?

  54. Ouch. This is embarrasing. Its hard to watch our president (even ‘catch me if you can’ Dr. Barry) whine and make these over the top statements.

Its like the time in Highschool we all probably witnessed a friend confront an ex girlfriend when they were … a little emotionally disturbed? Yeah.. Its cringe worthy. Disturbing. Embarrasing

  55. Thank you Hugo Obama.

  56. How about Sheik Obama proving his legal right to hold office?

His holding office is what’s destructive!

  57. This is interesting; the MSM is comprised of publicly held corporations. These corporations must turn a profit for their shareholders. To do this, they need to make more money than they outlay. Thus, they need to receive advertising revenues. Advertising revenues are based upon the amount of viewers a station, magazine or newspaper garners in relation to their competition… the higher up the food chain you are vs. the dark side (competition), the higher your revenues. Conversely, the lower you rank, the less the amount you can charge for your main revenue strean, i.e. advertising. Since money is what the corporate motor runs on, it is important to firstly determine what your audience wants to see, hear or read… secondly, you need to target your product to meet those customer needs. Twenty 22 months ago the buzz was all about leftist subject matter, and the MSM was only to willing to jump and provide this product. What you are seeing now is a paradigm shift from 22 months ago, when everyone wanted to see, hear and listen to a left-winged approach. The MSM is seeing decreased readership, viewship and lessened listening audiences. This results in decreasing revenues. The same corporations, in order to continue operations, must now decide whether to cut advertising pricing, or reduce the workforce, or change the product they are offering to current and potential customers. Apparently the MSM is circling the wagons and we are seeing the early stages of the MSM leaving the Obama Prom. The ones leaving early are the ones that will have the best chance to repurpose their product to take advantage of the changing marketplace; the laggards will succumb to the capitalistic outcome dictated to all widget makers. Bankruptcy is inevitable.

Sorry if this doesn’t make any sense… I’m just a high school graduate. Thanks for reading this far anyway.

  58. MSM, especially CBS Newsman Bob Scheiffer had no idea about the Black Panther case when interviewing Eric Holder… Riiiiiiight!

Van Jones radical beliefs and truther admittance not reported until he was forced out of White House…. riiiiight!

Anita Dunn “appreciating Mao” not reported by MSM. riiiiight!

Washington DC Anchor fired for reporting Obama ties to BP during Oil Spill hearing on Capitol Hill. riiight!

Obama ties to radicals in Chicago not reported during 2008 campaign. riiiiiight!

Obama member of radical church that even Oprah wouldn’t join, not reported by MSM, riiight!

All the above stories were reported on Fox News first, before even being mentioned by the Lame Stream Media.

So Obama says, “Fox News is destructive because they expose the truth about my agenda. riiiiight!

  69. Obama’s destruction:

Insurers in several states are now refusing to write new policies for individual children.

    also

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care has notified customers that it will drop its Medicare Advantage health insurance program at the end of the year, forcing 22,000 senior citizens in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine to seek alternative supplemental coverage.

    and

Judging by the parties he and Michelle Antoinette throw, the complete disregard for any move towards setting an example by economy in the White House, the million dollar vacations in Spain and the retinue of hangers-on FIVE HUNDRED strong that went along to London with him, he thinks that he is the new Emperor, the dictator, the ruler.

Wait, I think I’ve figured it out. Finally, and all at once. I always wondered why so many liberals/leftists consider themselves so much more intelligent than those who disagree with them.

Something about the way you wrote your post made me realize: They think that the way to *be* intelligent is simply to agree with something.

In other words, they want to be intelligent, and to be viewed as intelligent, but they’ve always been insecure about it. Unsure of what to think, even.

But this is simple for them: If you agree with liberals/leftists that suddenly confers intelligence on you. Now everybody will know that you are actually very smart.

Having bought that much – and believing themselves to be now magically and lastingly intelligent by simple virtue of agreeing with leftists/liberals – the corollary is that conservatives/others must be therefore UNintelligent. And that you can, and should, tell them so at every opportunity.

So it’s not like they were always sure they were intelligent, and they are just arrogant about it.

They are actually very insecure about it. They think they have *bought* or *acquired* intelligence by virtue of agreeing with others who have proclaimed themselves the most intelligent.

So it’s kind of a circular thing that way. All it takes is for a few people (with education credentials) to announce that they are right, and that they are the most intelligent; then all the others have to do is agree with them and that makes *them* intelligent, too. As if acquired.

Whereas more modest people, more secure people – such as most conservatives – feel no need to declare themselves intellectually superior in the first place, and other conservatives feel no need to “magically” increase their own intelligence simply by agreeing with someone politically.

Hard to articulate, but it really explains the whole puzzling phenomenon to me, this business where liberals/leftists are constantly crowing about how smart they are, and how stupid anyone who disagrees with them is.

They have *become* that smart simply by agreeing with others who keep telling them what it is smart to think.

I think this explains to me why so many non-spectacular people are suddenly so sure that they are the smartest people around. They’ve basically “purchased” it.

this board never fails to amuse me. This has to be one of the better collections of partially educated people in America

It is interesting that a teacher cannot be bothered to capitalize or punctuate properly, and yet has the gall to call US uneducated.

“I think this explains to me why so many non-spectacular people are suddenly so sure that they are the smartest people around. They’ve basically “purchased” it.”

They’ve sold their souls to be accepted by the collective. And the collective is more important than the truth.

So it’s kind of a circular thing that way.

What we here in dumba$$ land call a circle-jerk.

  93. Yeah. Conservative values are real destructive. And by destructive I of course meant that they built the richest and most successful country in the history of the world in less than 100 years after its founding.

  94. He said he took the oath to protect the Constitution, then WHY is he trying to destroy it? Can this man tell the truth, or is he above it? Semper Fi.

  95. Yah, Obama is too damn nice!

The only thing that Obama has to do in order to shut up the mouths of the Republicans at Fox is call Eric Holder’s office and the F.B.I. and order them to deliver to his office Sophia Stewart’s legal file regarding the theft of the Terminator movie franchise copyrights. Thereafter, Eric Holder can easily bring a lawsuit against Fox for RICO violations for stiffling competition and the theft of the “Terminator” movie franchise copyrights from the legal owner being Sophia Stewart. It will prove just how destructive Fox really is as a Monopoly.

Fox can’t deny the theft of the “Terminator” movie copyrights, because Harlen Ellison’s name is on the credits of the actual film, but his name is definately not on those copyrights. Obama can have Eric Holder order the F.B.I. to probe the Judge in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of California regarding his failure to alert the government pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 4 regarding those Termiantor copyrights. If Obama did this it would cost Fox over $4 Billion.

That’s how you make a fool shut the hell up.
