Sarah Palin endorsed Tea Party favorite Christine O’Donnell today over RINO Mike Castle in Delaware. RINO Rep. Mike Castle has a record of supporting the bank bailouts, cap and trade and abortion rights.

For those of you not familiar with this Delaware conservative, here again is my interview with Christine in July.
She told me then that she was hoping for Sarah’s endorsement.
Check it out – She’s a remarkable candidate:

It was a delight meeting Christine O’Donnell.

The Fix reported:

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) offered a last-minute endorsement of Christine O’Donnell in the Delaware GOP Senate primary. O’Donnell is the underdog against centrist Rep. Mike Castle and has received a series of press hits in recent days.

Here’s Sarah Palin’s endorsement posted on her Facebook page.

  1. I don’t think the RNC understands the BLOW to the PARTY if an RNC RINO beats a Tea Party candidate, because of heavy-handed RNC activities.

You would think they would like to be poised to take advantage of the Odrama Queen backlash!

    You would think!

  2. Too bad Sarah decided to stick her neck out on this one. Sorry, but I don’t agree she is a “remarkable candidate”, she has many holes in her resume. Pls don’t take this as a defense of Castle, but can’t we do better than this lady?

  3. I just heard that the Delaware GOP has filed charges against O’Donnell for accepting illegal contributions from the Tea Party Express.

I wrote them at info@delawaregop.com and told them that the move was tacky.

  4. Rose: there are so few hardcore conservatives in Delaware that it won’t matter. Castle leads in the polls because he appeals to moderate Democrats. The Tea Partiers could all stay home in November and Castle would still soundly defeat Coons. O’Donnell is DOA if she wins.

To quote Herm Edwards, you play to win the game. Castle wins the game. Give up this purity crap.

  5. I support DINOs. Democrats in Name Only. ;)

  6. Put $50 on O’Donnell then… money in the bank

  7. The Rinos in Delaware are in trouble. They are just like the liberal Democrats. I am glad that Palin endorsed her. The Rinos and news media are making this story up. It is time for the Republican Party to clean up and get rid of these Rinos. The Republican Party are belong to the member of the conservatives. Not RINOS!

  8. At least the conservatives in America are trying to clean-up the RNC. The Tea Party is taking care of that. Has ANYONE seen a single democrat with the guts or brains to start taking their party back that has been hijacked by the hate-America first crowd of the dem leadership and the media???

  9. That’s why I don’t vote in the primaries… If I voted for O’Donnell in the primaries – and then Coons wins in November… I will feel guilty for next 6 years. And if I vote for Castle, and everybody says that he is not good enough.

    Choices, so many choices.

  10. The Tea Party has officially jumped the shark. Ignore the rule that all politics is local at your own risk. Ignore the credentials of a candidate at your own risk. But I guess people in Alaska and Missouri know Delaware better than those who live right there. Humbris is very dangerous.

  11. Spellcheck is your friend, Rich, otherwise you might be accused of lecturing to us with hubris.

  12. If you beleive in gun rights, there is only one candidate to vote for … O’Donnell.

Castle loves the Assault Weapons Ban and was the deciding vote on it. Heck he loves the Ban so much, his house page is full of it.

    http://www.castle.house.gov/Issues/Issue/?IssueID=4443

Here are some choice quotes for HIS page …

1994 Crime Bill – After legislative progress had stalled on the crime bill, Castle was one of several Republican members who led the successful bipartisan effort to forge a compromise to win passage of the Comprehensive Violent Crime Control Act. That act also contains Castle’s Youth Handgun Safety Act making it illegal for minors under the age of 18 to use a handgun except for use in target practice, a gun safety course or hunting in the supervision of an adult.

Assault Weapons Ban – Rep. Castle, a long-time supporter of the 1994 Crime Bill, which included the Assault Weapons Ban, has written legislation to extend the ban for 10 more years. This ban has been allowed to expire and Mike Castle believes Congress should immediately reinstate this commonsense measure to keep semi-automatic weapons off the streets.

  13. Heard Palins endorsement live on Sean Hannity today. Palin did not give me the info that the above post did. Being a life member (like Palin). This is a deal maker. IF You cannot trust me with a gun I cannot trust you….ever.
It’s that simple, how do we fight back should our government become tyrannical??? Like now.

Obama, you’d best be hoping the country kicks your cronies out. Otherwise powder is dry.

  14. The comments I’m hearing is exactly why we are where we are. They belittle a lady that has nothing but a lust for justice, and for what? The rino says he wont vote to over turn Obama care, he voted for crap and tax, and some how he’s better than the lady. I honestly don’t understand some of you
“main stream” Republicans that just want an R in office, just any old R at that. If you would just go out and get on the lady’s side and quit bad mouthing her. Forget it we will never get any better than we are with the mind set that Castle is even a Conservative. Go ahead vote for that piece of crap, it’s like the Republicans that voted for Obama or sat out the election to teach a lesson. I just don’t understand that type of thinking. We will get a majority, but at what cost. Throw the best candidate under the bus because the ELITES know better. How the hell do you think we got here!

  15. Chris R. #4,

You’re quoting a football coach that had a losing record with the Jets and Chiefs. That quote doesn’t have much credibility.

  16. #4 yeah thats it give up purity crap and what do you get? I’ll tell you, you get Obama or worse. Go ahead vote for garbage, and then be surprised when the garbage starts to stink.

  17. The biggest war we have to win is the ELITES in Washington from both parties. The RNSC supported Specter over Toomy and what did that get us? I’ll tell you he was the 60th vote to bring Obama care to the floor. He was one of the deciding votes that brought STIMULUS to the floor, and then what did he do, he became an actual Demoncrap instead of a stealth one. Go ahead you go along to get along “R’S” keep voting for crap and bad mouthing people who’s shoes you aren’t worthy to shine. You sicken me. Bend over grab them ankles it’s what you deserve, but darn it you taking us with you.

  18. As a lifelong DE repub, I know CM as a joke and fringe player. While I support the TP this shows how out of touch they are in local races. Not that it would happen, but if CM won she would be the Dems early XMas gift. You would thing the TP would research who they back and get an understanding of the person. CM has no chance in this DEM state and shows a total lack of understanding of our state and the tenuous chances any Repub has here.

  19. I understand the “urge to purge”. I do. In a state like Delaware, there is nothing to purge. The Republican Party in Delaware IS a RINO festival. O’Donnell is on the outside looking in, and, I’m sorry guys, but she’s no Joe Miller. She’s sketchy at best, not even Hayworth-quality. I think this is a battle that did not need to be fought. Some places are bluer than others, and Delaware is royal. We should be focusing on sending messages in red and purple states. Blue states, we should be happy with an R for the time being. Don’t forget, this is an immediate sitting, meaning Castle would have lots of incentives from the GOP national to be a bump in the road during the lame-duck Dem majority session. He’s a political creature. He smells the national tide turning R, and he’s not going to ignore it.

  20. Of course Mrs. Palin has now run to embrace the fashion. She waited long enough to see if O’Connell had a chance. It is the same old gaming, we see with all Politicians.

Mrs. Palin does it all the time, her rush to take the image of the fine Tea Party Protests, with the questionable Tea Party Express Convention after abandoning Alaska, and selling her celebrity was a prime example of the fashionable embrace.

Frankly the fashion is getting quite ugly. Even Mr. Hannity was distorting the record of Mr. Castle. This is not Conservatism, it is ugly.

I am no Castle fan, but I have to agree with Mr. Mirengoff on so many points regarding this Fashionable folly.

Regarding the unethical distortion of the record of Mr. Castle …

“Speaking of Sean Hannity, he is one of the prominent talk-show hosts who (inadvertently, I’m certain) has incorrectly described Castle’s voting record. Last night Hannity said “Mike Castle voted for Obamacare, TARP, cap and tax, the establishment wants him. What can we interpret from that?” Actually, Castle voted against Obamacare.

Along the same lines, Rush Limbaugh said yesterday that Castle voted for the stimulus. In fact, Castle voted against the 2009 stimulus bill, which is what people understand “the stimulus” to mean. Castle did vote for 2008 stimulus legislation in 2008. However, as Jim Geraghty points out, that bill passed by a vote of 81-16, with the votes of solid conservatives like Richard Burr, John Thune, David Vitter, Jim Bunning. Mitch McConnell, Sam Brownback, Saxby Chambliss, and Orrin Hatch.”

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2010/09/027192.php

Conservatives used to be about basis, but some just want the stereotypical Identity game, and the misrepresentation of others has become obscene in the name of the fashion. It serves no one, and will end up weakening the effort in the long run.

And this is the new Ideal?

“Moreover, questions surround O’Donnell’s finances. As I wrote here, I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt until I see concrete evidence of wrongdoing. But that won’t stop O’Donnell from being hammered and ridiculed if she is nominated. In addition, O’Donnell lately has displayed poor judgment and a lack of regard for the truth. She claimed in a radio interview that she had carried two of three Delaware counties in her race against Biden. Actually, she carried none. And, when asked about the Rasmussen poll showing her well behind the Democrat, she suggested that Rasmussen was fudging his results to favor the Republican establishment. It’s one thing to be strongly conservative; it’s another to be paranoid.”

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2010/09/027175.php

It doesn’t seem to matter about basis anymore. Murkowski was treated horribly by so many pushing this fashionable game. It was actually quite ugly, far from Conservative. And Mr. Miller, who seems to be a good Man, looked absolutely delusional after the vote, speaking about conspiracies in such a paranoid manner. It was regretful.

“As ranking member of the Senate Energy Committee, she performed excellent service in opposing the Democrats’ agenda, including efforts effectively to restrict the ability to drill off-shore to foreign companies (this earned her Keith Olbermans’s “worst person” award). She has also led the charge to overturn EPA’s “endangerment” finding for greenhouse gases, a determination that paves the way for agency climate rules. In my view, Murkowski might well be the Republican party’s most valuable member on environmental issues recently.
As for the claim that Murkowski is a “Republican in name only,” this is baseless. Murkowski (whose lifetime ACU record is around 70 percent) voted with the Republicans on the big issues in this Congress, including the stimulus, Obamacare, and financial reform. Moreover, Sarah Palin initially contributed money to Murkowski’s re-election campaign.”

Some treated Mrs. Murkowski as a monster, to aid their fashionable selection. The emails from the Palin Family and the Tea Party Express were truly ugly in many ways. You don’t need to offer this garbage to empower a better candidate, and the entire sophomoric effort is only going to grow more divisions, inspire a backlash, even make enemies of those who could easily have been on the good side.

It is ironic that Mr. Hoft, (who is truly outstanding), would hype Mrs. Palin’s last minute fashionable endorsement. Mrs. Palin has become the SYMBOL for the Fashion based on Image today. Of course she would run to get on board of something she thinks is popular. It is just like her repeated references of the legendary Gipper, which never existed in her early MAVERICK days as a politician.

Sarah Palin once pushed a fashionable game early in her career, to play the “Moderate Maverick” Identity, sticking it to her own Party to gain Democratic Partisan support. In the wake she raised taxation on Oil Companies (growing the cost of living for all Americans), she built more bureacracy with “Climate Panels”, recently sounded exactly like the Democratic Partisan disaster named Obama – talking about “holding accountable” BP.

Yet, due to fashionable stereotypical imagery, we see some judge her obvious Political gaming differently. But the fashionable are not a vast majority as one presents. The movement has it’s positives, but is once again overblown in a rather destructive path.

It reminds one of the misguided hyperbole, emotive sophistry, reactionary nonsense which debased Our Own Conservative Interests in the past after 2004. Now these forces, some desperately bitter about anything (including the GOP) seem to ignore their prior – misguided vitriol for the Bush Administration and a President who carried the burden of fighting the GWOT, with Our Bravest in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Here it goes again, with even the EIB pushing the foolish populist nonsense of Class Warfare, with ugly terms like “Ruling Class Republicans”. That is most embarrassing as a Conservative to encounter.

From a multi-millionaire Celebrity of Rush’s status, it becomes even more absurd. His rebuke of the Democrats for their ugly exploitation of divisive Populist Garbage, merely becomes hypocritical.

Nope, the fashion is getting so absurd, some think it is okay to vilify the ‘unacceptable’ Republicans, slandering every aspect of other Americans for the sake of the fashion. It is a movement built on the ugly, not a sound Conservative platform. The means never justify the ends, and becoming a Conservative version of Seymour M. Hersh is a losers game.

If Ms. O’Donnell wins – great. If this makes Mr. Hoft pleased, I am pleased for him and the O’Donnell supporters.

But every instinct I have, studying the records, basis, etc., tells me this Fashionable Conservative Popularity puff, is a terribly weak offering. Just as strong as I feel about the disastrous McCain Campaign, the reactionary nonsense after 2004, etc.

I hope wiser heads prevail. The same fashionable push happened in NJ, calling Christie all these ugly things, but in the end, cooler – wiser heads prevailed. The best candidate won the day, someone who can handle an interview and a debate – and actually manage an Office with impressive capability.

  21. Brooklyn you wrote a whole lot to say the drivel. All your words boiled down to is throw all you believe in under the bus. I say you and all the other ELITES catch the next bus out of town.

  22. Brooklyn I went back and reread your post, and now I’m not sure what you are saying, if I’m misunderstanding I apologize. I’m just tire of those that throw principle to the wind for expedience, and we end up with McCain and Specter etc. It’s got to stop.

  23. Maria, #2, you cannot do better than Christine with Mike Castle and the RINO Gang behind him.

    Try again.

Don’t let Worse be the enemy of Better! :)

  24. Chris R. —They keep pushing RINOS off on us by saying – “that state won’t accept Conservatives”.

Lots of horrible politics came out of that which Conservatives have watched kick our legs out from under us – Arlen Spectre, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and dozens of others.

    It won’t wash, anymore.

No! The Party Mechanism should NOT be manipulating to get their candidate over the candidate of the VOTERS.

Pick whether you want a RESPONSIVE PARTY to the VOTERS, or to the MACHINE.

You cannot have both – even if you think the MACHINE Candidate is “more polished” looking.

How about that John McCain and Lindsey Graham and such – how “polished” is THAT when they waltz across the aisles with the DIMS for programs we all hate to death!

Substance over Fake, please. No more Dim Lite.

    Straight up or down.

  25. #9, Felix – so, you want Conservatives in office? or another Gang of 14 making the GOP looking like Dim puppets?

That choice is made in the Primaries.

    by Conservatives who stay home.

Half the Conservatives don’t vote in Primaries.

You like Dim lite picking your candidates – stay home.

Suck it up – pray hard, and vote.

When you go to Judgement Day, the Founding Fathers will look you over and ask what you did with their Blood spilled for you.

  26. GS #19 – Mike Castle is Pro-gun ban, pro-tax and pro-O bamacare – pro-abortion….

GEE, I see why you want him over Christine.

Backbone of another Gang of 14 … or 20 for John McCain, huh!

When the Rubber hits the Road, and we have to fort up, no RINOS and RINO ENABLERS for Obama Marxism will be allowed in MY fort, I guarantee. Don’t think I’m kidding, either.

Your middle of the road fence has fallen to the abyss. No lifelines to you from my side. Enjoy your picket-punctured fanny on your way down.

You give your food to Obama, I won’t share mine with you, after that. Hold yer breath waiting for Obama to share his with you! SO LOL!

  27. The tea-party movement will be short-lived if it thinks replacing RINOs with amateurs is going to turn the country around.

And what is this fascination with Palin? Attractive woman (as is O’Donnell), and probably great as a talking head or cheerleader for conservative causes. But president? I just don’t see it.

I’m a conservative. I detest Obama. But I would not vote for a President Palin. Wouldn’t be prudent.

  28. Understanding Taqiyya ― Islamic Principle of Lying for the Sake of Allah
    http://www.islam-watch.org/Warner/Taqiyya-Islamic-Principle-Lying-for-Allah.htm

I guess the pastor doesn’t know about this practice by Muslims. Obama used it to get into the White House, Nancy Pelosi signed off on him of course. He continues to use it everyday. I can’t figure out, why he is being allowed to continue? Did he really work for the CIA, and they are afraid of that coming out? Come on, everyone knows he’s an impostor. How much longer is the charade going to continue?

  29. Sorry, about my above post, it wasn’t meant for this thread.
