Good grief–
FOX News reported, “The National Republican Senatorial Campaign announced tonight that they will not support conservative Christine O’Donnell in her campaign for US Senator in Delaware.”
That was a quick announcement… Good going GOP. That ought to fire up the base.
O’Donnell defeated RINO Mike Castle tonight in the Delaware GOP Primary.
Michelle Malkin warns:
Expect more Washington Republicans to start sounding like Tea Party-bashing libs as their entrenched incumbent friends go down.
And, here’s a friendly public service reminder: You can donate to GOP Sen. Jim DeMint’s Senate Conservatives Fund PAC right here right now.

This news doesn’t exactly come as surprise does it? She’s got Gary Coleman level loser-stink all over her. While the Republicans shouldn’t put up candidates who have filtered through the Ivy Leagues or spent their lives protected in ‘Ivory Towers’, candidates should have a modicum of real world experience and success in some profession whether it be military, vocational, or mercantile. Scott Brown at least had a substantial career in Mass. politics as did Sarah Palin.
O’Donnell has none of these qualities. It’s too bad, before today I liked the odds of the Republicans rolling back or restricing ObamaCare. Now, not so much.

There are states in which the Republican Party is almost non-existant. The Party heads once again form their coalitions with the Democrats and sit back watching Dems win election after election.
What this Republican chairman did to this candidate is beyond belief. Whether they liked her or not she is the Republican Candidate and they should support her. Perhaps the rifts will be healed tomorrow — God I hope so — we all want to secure a Republican Victory.

The GOP has just set itself up to be a 10% third party. They’re already not getting money from voters, and with this they’ve lowered the chance of funds.

O’Donnell has already accomplished the feat of removing a RINO from the contention. Mike Castle, as far as I could tell, is indistinguishable from a Democrat, so I figure we have lost nothing, even if she doesn’t win, but I hope the voters will band together to show the Republican establishment who is really in charge. They are long overdue for a sharp lesson.
I wrote to Castle, after the Cap and Trade vote in the house, that I would do everything I could to see that he lost in 2010 — and I did.

I am announcing today that the National Republican Senatorial Campaign will not receive one cent from this long-time GOP supporter and voter in this campaign. Not. One. I sent $50 to O’Donnell’s campaign, and will continue to support her (can’t vote for her – wrong state). I can’t believe the Stupid Party is doing this.
Brad commented:
Removing any “passionate” feelings for or against O’Donnell winning the primary, it’s the right call the NRSC has made. Until her polls come up and she makes it a race, we simply can’t afford spending money in Delaware. We need to help Nevada and Alaska and keep a close eye on Kentucky, especially with the debates coming up and a media that will pervert our candidates words – before we even think about spending money in Delaware. There’s more value in spending money elsewhere. A ad buy in California where we might not have spent otherwise has a bigger bang for the buck than Delaware now.
No doubt we have had plenty of reasons this year to be critical of the NRSC, but this isn’t one of them. Palin and Demint will need to do the heavy lifting and do the fund-raising for this race. If she can win this race she will need them to get her sprint going. I hope they will and can do it.

The implication is that it is NOT a decision based on win-ability but rather a vindictive stance. Like I said, a big “F You” to the voters.
Jamie W. commented:
I’ll send her the money I would have sent the RNC; my state’s candidates don’t need it, and she is going to REALLY need it now. Think I might send the RNC a note too, that I’m pre-allocating their donation to O’Donnell to ensure it goes to a candidate who is NOT a RINO.

It took the rising of the Third Estate in France to conclude the unaccountability of its nobility. By making the announcement they made it has alienated the NRSC from the core supporters. I will no longer donate one cent to the GOP or the NRSC. The next time one of those organizations calls me I will tell them why I am no longer donating. I will donate directly to the candidate.

donh: Krauthammer, Rove and others are rightfully terrified; as talking heads, they act as seers and wizards, consulting “magic” to explain occurrences and forecast trends.
As one who directs such seers and wizards in a global corporation, I’m sympathetic to their agitation: their models completely fail when there’s no prevailing wind. It’s easy to forecast snow in the winter when the skies turn grey, but when it snows three feet in the middle of July in Oklahoma, the gaussian trickery of the seer fails. We’re into the land of power laws, quantum uncertainty and behavioral irrationality.
Incidentally, the ascension of laypersons is a tremendous opportunity for our nation. Extensive research in risk theory continually shows that a panel of randomly selected “regular people” make far superior decisions than a panel of experts. Combine that with the realization that’s been lost since the era of Wilson that our social contract and national constitution is one of a representative democracy, and it’s vital that we’re finally returning to the advancement of actual representatives who represent! Generations of experts resulted only in expertise in corruption, lobbying, gifts to friends and a complete distortion of our economy (Fannie & Freddie as only one of the more recent examples).
All O’Donnell has to do is represent her constituents and communicate their will. Anything further is a liability in this revolutionary reform.
Brad commented:
Could anyone point me in the direction where the NRSC “announces” it will not support O’Donnell’s campaign? My best guess is this comes from an anonymous source via Mediaite because the only thing I can find coming out of the NRSC tonight is a press release of congratulations.
I would agree with Formerly known as Skeptic if the NRSC announced this moments after the polls closed it would of been a big F You to Republican primary voters and a poison the well action. But I don’t see this announcement and I don’t know who the media’s anonymous source was … a phone banker? A Castle supporter with hurt pride? Who the hell knows?
The NRSC will in the future make this announcement and they should, actually they won’t make any announcement but will just move their resources out. Come on people, the media in two weeks will be taking a 5 second clip of Angle in her debate and perverting her words to fit their media template they’ve already written about her, but the polls are closer in Nevada, so shouldn’t the NRSC spend money defending her and begin making preparations to do so until O’Donnell is within at least 6-7 points of Coons?
I support the NRSC on this one. And the grassroots, Palin, Tea Party and Demint need to do the heavy lifting of getting O’Donnell’s numbers up. Should we spend money in races we can’t win? Do you support spending millions of NRSC dollars in New York with the numbers we got there, so why does anyone expect Delaware to be different?

Isn’t it interesting that the dumb-assed middle class, fly-over America rubes have been harping on “out-of-control spending” by both political parties for two decades (while being written off as clueless idiots for their “irrational concerns”)? And having been screwed by Newt and the Contract with/on America, then screwed by Clinton, Bush and Obama, they’re cleaning their own house first this time, once again, focusing on out-of-control spending and debt?
Is it a coincidence that when we consult the economic experts globally, e.g. the British, EU, Chinese, Japanese press and their experts (just spend an afternoon with The Economist, Foreign Policy, or any other credible foreign periodical), they mirror the very same concern about out-of-control spending? How can global experts be in complete agreement with America’s middle class idiots?
Is it possible… just in the least… that these rednecks and rubes know exactly what they’re saying, while the American Progressive Political Nobility (RNC, DNC) either have no clue, or worse yet, are willfully and intentionally destroying the nation?
I love it when the Average Joe gets it right, time after time. Then again, look at quotes from Megan McCain’s book (god help you if you try to read the actual book), or review Barack Obama’s “writing” and contrast Average Joe imputed experience-derived wisdom with this confused knuckle-dragging progressive drool and reconstituted vomit. Aren’t we always complaining about all the wasted money our government spends on worthless programs, but yet here we are asking the NRSC to waste money in Delaware. Until O’Donnell shakes things up in the race against Coons, maybe an awesome debate performance will improve her numbers, and she gets to within striking distance of Coons, I’m not going to ask the NRSC to throw good money after bad.
NRSC money would better be spent in ground operations of West Virginia and Wisconsin instead of Delaware because we got better chances to win those races… And when O’Donnell is within six, it’ll be time to get some resources back in Delaware. We need to be fluid in our operations and we need to get the most value out of our dollars. We’re conservatives, we believe in fiscal intelligence don’t we?
Chris R commented:
This was to be expected. She’s nuts, there are winnable races elsewhere and the lies and insults spewed at Castle and his supporters will not be easily forgotten. I think the GOP needs to send a message here itself. Calm down.
Estragon commented:
NRSC resources are limited and need to go to where they can do the most good. We had a guy who would win easily – at least he is undefeated in 12 previous statewide elections – with minimal assistance, if any. The O’Donnell backers went to the mat for the nomination, and now we are supposed to divert scant funds from competitive races to Delaware?
Did someone really expect to spend two months saying “screw the NRSC” and “screw the establishment” and then expect them to pick up the tab?
Did the Libertarians bring brownies to this party?
flyoverland commented:
The NRSC calls me incessantly for money. They can lose my phone number, I won’t be giving them another dime. I will just send her my money directly. Its time to end the professional political class–let them get a real job or join the ranks of the unemployed. They’ve helped create enough unemployment doing it their way.
Mike commented:
As of today, because of the likes of Rove, NRSC, and other establishment Repubs, I am no longer supporting the party and will be a registered Independent! F*** You Rove and NRSC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Warthog commented:
Wow, no support at all? That’s dumb. With this move the NRSC has turned the Tea Party’s anger knob all the way to “11″, snapped it off and tossed it out the window.
(I hope they like their music loud…)

What amazes me is these Republican elites think they will be able to just walk away after this all shakes out.
Militant Conservative commented:
Got a RNC poll/please donate letter yesterday. No money but a curt response. I give directly to conservative candidates not the RNC. The TPM is taking over the Republican party and kicking the RINOS to the curb. WHAAAAAA, SLAP. Pimp hand is strong. powder is dry.

This could actually work to O’Donnell’s favor. IF “moderates” don’t like the GOP – she can say she’s running against the entrenched GOP just as much as she’s running against Democrats.
Robert commented:
NRSC will not support O’Donnell.
Sounds like more Republicans need to be removed
and replaced. They do not represent us.
Robert commented:
Regarding those who say that O’Donnell has to make the race closer before the NRSC will support her;
@#$%)*^Y%$(*R(_^&U and then some!
Even if they have that strategy, to announce it at the moment of victory shows childish petulance and a sense of – ENTITLEMENT! What a bunch of babies and ARROGANT know-it-alls.
Somebody call the waaambulance for the
National Republican Senatorial Campaign.
These insiders and liberal softies have got to go,
all of them, Democrats first.
Hangtown Bob commented:
The Republican Party needs to get off its dead ass and support every conservative candidate who is running against a Democrat. Their present attitude just enforces the idea that they’re more interested in their personal success than the success of the country.
Hangtown Bob commented:
It’s time for a MONEY BOMB for both O’Donnell and Angle.!!!!!
Make it GO VIRAL!!!
Kevin P commented:
The TP may not win all of its endorsements this time but the elite pundits don’t know what the hell is going to happen. It’s wonderful that elections now are based on the will of the people instead of the wishes of the elite.
O’Donnell WILL win Delaware – this is a tsunami and we need to quit listening to these talking head experts! This may have been stated before in this thread, but studies have shown repeatedly that a panel of average citizens in any situation performs better than a panel of experts!
Well – far as I can tell – there’s a helluva lot of average citizens – and darn few experts. That’s the STRENGTH of the U.S.A.
