An irritated Charles Krauthammer lectured Republican voters in Delaware tonight – two days after the vote. He told Bill O’Reilly that Christine O’Donnell has only a 1 in 10 chance of winning.
“I’d like to see DeMint, Palin now, go down to Delaware, spend a couple of weeks and elect her now… You got her elected as a nominee. Get her elected now.”

No doubt Charles Krauthammer is now hoping O’Donnell loses. If she wins, he will be looking as silly as that ex bush advisor, err, whats his name?
But hey, is this really ALL BUSHES FAULT?!
Charles Krauthammer commented:
This is all a Ploy! I will be bashing all the Tea Party people so the Dummycrats invite me to parties where I can hear all the plans they have the October Surprise!
SM-Illinois commented:
He said the same stuff about Palin…..and we know how that turned out. Charles is part of the old guard establishment. Like Sarah said: tell them to buck up or stay in the truck! You betcha she’s going to win Charles!

There true coolers are starting to show and they have no clue whets going on. How long before these elitists pole there heads out?

Krauthammer has again outed himself as another elitist talking head of the Northeastern chattering classes who never stray outside the narrow echo chamber that extends from Georgetown to Dartmouth.
DocScience commented:
Winning IS important.
But standing for something is more important.
No one wins when RINO’s win.
donh commented:
How about Karl Rove and Sour Kraut go to Delaware and eat the same crap sandwich they always demand the republican conservative laity swallow when their hand picked Rino nominees win. How many times have the media Rove-Ots including Rush intimidated republican voters to be loyal with the gloom and doom hold the nose arguement we must supporting a fraud nominee because the Rino fraud is a lesser of two evils and it will be the end of the world if the democrats win. Well so much for that one way street arguement. It does not apply to the moderates when they lose . If you “moderates” think O’Donnell is such a crazy nut, hold your nose and support her because another 2 years of an Obama controlled senate means the absolute destruction of our country . I won’t even call O’Donnell the lesser of two evils next to Coons as that would be an insult.
Lc Scott commented:
So I wonder who replaced Krauthammer’s hemorrhoid cream with lemon juice?
Ad rem commented:
All this pissing and moaning about lost chances to control the senate. Fifty-one seats would change nothing except giving a bunch of the old Rinos committee chairmanships. You’d need at least fifty-six seats to get anything done. It’s all about the power and control. These jerks had six years under Bush to do great things, and they did squat….except spend money!
Rove knows in his heart that he will never again wield the power he once did. Now the only thing they’ve got is the anger.
Guy commented:
Such negativity … people like Charles need to recognize that this isn’t any normal election year. Voters are DESPERATE for new and vibrant candidates, and all the old rules are going to go out the window this time around. It’s probably too late to have any significant effect now, but if he had been enthusiastic and supportive when she won, it would have gone a long way toward getting her elected. He must know that, so it leaves me questioning his loyalties. It would seem he supports the “ruling class” and not the American people. Sad …
Ironsman commented:
The voters of Del. have a clear choice. More or less: government, taxes, spending. It can not be more clear. No matter what is said or what dirt is thrown this is the end result. I believe that is why O’Donnell will win.
Ad rem commented:
News was out stating Castle talked to both Obama and Biden after the election. WTF??? Hmmmm……remembering Scozzafava, Crist, Murkowski, Specter.
kevin commented:
They ARE campaigning for her, Chuck, now how ’bout you and your buddy Karl stop moanin’ and do what you can to get her elected.
Suck it up, Man!
Paul commented:
hmmm never seen Charles Johnson from LGF and Charles Krauthammer in the same room – just saying!
down with dems commented:
That’s the way to motivate people to go to the polls, Charles!! She’s the nominee, so deal with it. Two months before election day and declaring defeat already… be careful or you might convince that deciding voter to stay home.
Harry Reid and other Democrats have lots more bombs to drop on the Coons campaign, not to mention Coons’ own words and record
All that matters is November 2… and in the meantime, O’Donnell is raking in the cash, $1.29M and counting, to put up the fight for which Charles and Karl are already ready to throw the towel in.
Chippy commented:
The elites still don’t and won’t get it. This is what’s going to make November fun. Who do we target next? Mmmm?
David/California commented:
I want to pose some rhetorical questions:
1.) Was the Delaware primary about who would represent the 60,000 Republicans who voted, or about who a cabal of Beltway power brokers wanted to support?
2.) Who has the better legal and moral right to decide who will represent the interests of the citizens of Delaware – Delaware citizens or Washington DC pundits?
3.) Since everyone, including the snobs in Washington DC, agrees Castle was not an ideal candidate, who bears the responsibility, and has the money, to seek out and qualify a better candidate – the voters or the Party’s leadership? And if the voters do it on their own, what possible complaint do the Party bosses have?
4.) If the strategic votes of Delaware’s Republican voters don’t fit with the tactical concerns of Washington DC’s power brokers, whose fault is that?
The arrogance, condescension, willful blindness, and childishness of Krauthamer, Rove, and the other snobs in Washington DC is extremely annoying, and I’m sick and tired of being lectured by them.
And don’t get me started on the ‘blue-blooded’ Castle’s sense of entitlement…

chilipalmer commented:
I listen to Rush Limbaugh every day, and he was neutral on Delaware til about the day before the election. I listened closely because I knew his friend Levin was very pro O’Donnell. I even heard Levin say Rush doesn’t get involved in primaries. Typically, Rush would come back from a commercial and say, ok, some republicans (like pal Rove) have been telling me she’s got so much baggage, etc., and Castle isn’t so bad. For whatever reason, the day of the election he seemed to favor O’Donnell more, then of course after the election he bashed her bashers. Limbaugh also knows cap and trade (Castle) isn’t just another bill, it’s a knife in the back of America.
kato commented:
Krauthammer fails to realize how pissed off non-parasite Americans are with intrusive, big-spending government. He fails to realize also that these Americans know we got where we are not only because of Obama, Reid and Pelosi, but also thanks to George W. Bush, Bill Frist, Trent Lott, Chuck Hagel, George Rinovich, Straight-talkin’ Johnny McCain, and Lindsey Graham, just to name a handful of the high-profile RINOs.
donh commented:
The crap sandwich arguement used to keep conservatives loyal to a rino nominee has been very effective over the years because we really do love our country and fear the absolute evil practiced by the democrats. However, this same fear does not motivate the moderates to remain loyal when conservatives win . Rinos can just as easily vote for Castle as they can Coons. They are people who don’t give a damn about this country and have no fear of God. The only reason a Rino prefers voting for a Castle over Coons is that they get more pleasure from the sociopathy of knifing us in the back when Castle votes for more fascist tyranny. The only way moderates can regain that lost feeling that killers hunger for is to be devious at sabatogue and kneecap O’Donnell.
Mo commented:
I usually enjoy what Dr. K has to say but on this issue he is totally wrong and out of touch!!! I think there is an energy among voters for some new candidates that hasn’t been seen since “the won” was elected and that is scaring the heck out of the dems and the republican washington elite!!!!
We the people are taking back our country!!!

It appears Krauthammer and Rove would prefer a couple more years of Congress just like the Congress of the last couple of years. If that’s not what they want, then they’d rally ’round O’Donnell until Nov 2, promoting her and urging DE voters to choose her over the Demonrat she’s running against instead of talking her down and therefore supporting the Demonrat by default.

For some reason Krauthammer and Rove got themselves emotionally invested in a longtime career politician who couldn’t even sell himself to his own party. It doesn’t matter so much what Palin or Levin had to say. Delaware’s rank-and-file Republicans, the ones who know Castle best, didn’t want him as their nominee. That was Castle’s failure. K & R should be mad at him.
Krauthammer is a smart guy but he is too inside-the-beltway. He has been sour about Palin for a long time, and 20-20 hindsight has not shown him to be especially perceptive. For example, he pronounced her political career dead when she resigned her governorship. Care to revisit that prediction now, Doctor?
Krauthammer and Rove are experts at politics-as-usual. Neither seems to have a handle on what’s going on in the country right now, and I think the uncertainty upsets them.
sandy commented:
Mr. Krauthammer — you have no credibility with me. You blindly supported Obama until recently so where are your brains?
We don’t need any more lectures from the likes of you. So stuff it!
sandy commented:
chilipalmer — I think the reason Rush doesn’t get involved in things like this is that he genuinely believes in electing Republicans and that in some North East states the Republicans we elect will need to be more moderate
But he was called by some O’Donnell supporters in Delaware and told what they were doing to her and he was furious. When the big guy gets involved things happen. I really believe that Rush helped her over the top.
Jim commented:
Gee, if the GOP wasn’t so far left of center in regards to spending and lack of principles I doubt maybe we would have been more tolerant of Mike Castle. He would be a freshman senator with ZERO seniority in the senate.
Maybe if the GOP had a firm right of center gameplan they were promoting we might be more tolerant of Mike Castle.
But the GOP is left of center on just about everything with the exception of national security. And we can’t change the direction of the GOP if we keep electing these RINO backstabbing progressives in elephant costumes. We discovered what happens when we do so, when we get lazy and just vote for the R next to someones name without figuring out who that someone actually is.
We get a congress with Hastert/Delay/Lott syndrome, and instead of running 1.6 trillion dollar deficits, we get 100-400 billion dollar deficits. Is that better than the democrats? Sure, but the slow march toward the destruction of the country is still destructive. In fact it is more dangerous, because people won’t see it coming.
How are we supposed to move the GOP back to a firm positiion on the right side of center electing Mike Castle when we know the party still contains far too many cowards who still want to make the invite list on exclusive Washington insider cocktail parties.
Win or loose, nominating O’Donnell in DE was the right move.
Ellie Light commented:
For a guy who dove into an empty swiming pool you’d expect this kind of lecture. I give 10-1 odds he did it to insure he’d get invited to the next Reid Beltway cocktail party.

Aww, come on, doc. The most important is not selling your soul to liberalism as means to gain elections.
If the purpose is ONLY to win elections, why have two parties? There are two parties bkz there are distinct beliefs. So what’s the point in choosing someone who will to down to Washington and say the EXACT same thing as the liberals?
Beliefs matter, Charlie, and the conservatives want to stay relevant, we have to choose those who best represent us not those who are more likely to win.
Besides, the USA are a center-right nation, so a conservative has more ways to conect to americans than a freaking elitist.

Delaware borders my state and I was left scratching my head over his comments about Delaware being Northeast Liberal. Maybe the area near Wilmington is owned by Biden but the southern counties are rural and retirees that moved to Del for better taxes. Delaware is not so easily stereotyped Krauthammer.

I say with everyone saying she can’t win, there is only one thing to do. DONATE, VOLUNTEER and VOTE FOR CHRISTINE O’DONNELL. To heck with all the chattering heads. LET’S PROVE THEM WRONG. Let’s elect the kind of government WE WANT. Not the kind THEY THINK we should have. This is the straw that broke the camel’s back. Not only do we have to fight the idiot’s, but now we have to fight people we thought were on our side. Unbelievable.

I agree with Mikey!!! Send money to conservative candidates and work hard to
get them elected. Make phone calls, chat up

their record/positions to your email list;
One can do this in your

It’s obvious that the GOP establishment is not done with O’Donnell. Not only will they not support her, but I get the sense that they will sabotage her campaign any chance they get. Especially over the top is Krauthammer challenging Palin and DeMint to go to Delaware to campaign. Sounds like a trap to me.
Rove and Krauthammer types are a bigger threat to O’Donnell than the Democrat party. Old guard Republicans are obviously not going to participate in party unity when the tables are turned on them. There are all kinds of things that these insider nitwits can do to gum up the works for her. Reminds me of petty co-workers who withhold basic training/information from new employees then revel in seeing the newbie fall flat.
