This has got to be an effort to excite the base as we get closer to November.
It’s political suicide for any so called moderate.
By all means, Libs: run with it.
Pagar commented:
What is needed to protect our country is a whole lot less Senate meetings. The problem all across America today is too much regulation most of which accomplishes nothing except creating more government employees.
neomom commented:
Another self writing campaign ad for conservatives. If they want to go after our guns they should be honest and open about it. That way, we can be honest and open about our response.
You have all probably saw this but it is worth watching again.

“But remember: These same radicals want you to believe they value the Constitution.” and remember the radicals that advocated the violent overthrow of the U.S. government in the 60/70′s are now in the government or hold sway over the current government. in the back of their minds are their own memories of what they thought it would take to seize control.
Andreas K. commented:
Love their phony arguments about these Korean M1 Garands.
Oh noes! Some terrorists might get them!
Yeah, because a terrorist would get a 60+ year old 8 round semi-automatic rifle, instead of a smuggled in AK47 from Mexico. Totally!
Not.
Michael commented:
Typical Dim yabber. They don’t have the votes anyway.
Iconoclast commented:
Molon Labe, mr. leahy . . . MOLON LABE !!!
Our rights have been TRAMMELED ENOUGH ALREADY – you take no more.
daryl commented:
Some imam could crate those Korean M1s up, mark the crates as containing korans and they could be shipped overnite and be on the shelves for sale at every “mosque” in the country, no questions asked.
All others can fuggit-a-boutem. Just ain’t gonna allow that much assault rifle firepower in the hands of those bible thumpin’, gun huggin’, hunkerin’ in their bunkers(compounds), law abiding citizens of this country, though.
Betsy Ross commented:
The ’60s radicals are finally in position to squash those “bitter clingers”….
Mmmm…Mmmm…Mmmm…

Now they’re coming for your guns.
……bring a lunch!!

It begins? It has never ended. This constant assault against the American people and the Constitution. NRA, I have just mailed you another check. Sic ‘em!
Neo commented:
This issue has always been a loser for the Democrats because it amounts to “singing to the choir” and gains them few converts.
No Man commented:
Remember in November.
It’s the next, logical step toward making the USA a better place . . . for terrorists and tyrants.

This ALL has to do with Harry Reid’s re election. You will recall the EPA was exploring the ban on lead used in bullets. Someone powerful telephoned the EPA and got that plan snuffed out, likely Harry Reid. Those efforts did not keep the NRA support behind Reid as they announced last week they will not be endorsing Reid. Now we are witnessing a malicious act of Revenge by the wiley coyote from searchlight. .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX6p_Weaw9s&feature=related

The term ‘shall not be infringed’ is even more perplexing to a liberal mind than ‘Congress shall make no law’. So many long words… it’s complicated. Hopefully than can use their finger and mouth the words one at a time to understand the meaning of both.
Kenny Solomon commented:
This has very little to do with Harry Reid feeling like s schoolboy told to go stand in the corner.
The President Of The United States, those who own him and much more dangerous-to-freedom people and organizations than them are making their move.
Cass Sunstein, Eric Holder, Janet Napolitano and ICR2P have their hands are all over the proceedings.
Don’t know what ICR2P happens to be?…… Look here: http://www.responsibilitytoprotect.org
ICR2P – The International Coalition For The Responsibility To Protect……. Better known as the front end of UN Agenda 21 – A global government. The main force behind The UN Small Arms Treaty and the disarmament of civilians world-wide, especially in America.
ICLEI is the other half – http://www.iclei.org – That’s the global government through ‘Sustainable Development’.
They’re both completely interconnected.
Y’all need to think much bigger picture than you ever thought possible……. I’ve been saying this for years, but nobody’s listening.
I never wore a tin-foil hat either.

20,000 plus gun laws on the books at present. This is not about safety nor security. This is about power and control. Amen KS. Got all I need for a protracted battle. Powder is dry.

What are the first two objectives of a dictatorship? 1.Disarm the public. 2. Control the media. Yeah, I’m a bitter, gun-clinger.

What does: “Firearms in Commerce: Assessing the Need for Reform in the Federal Regulatory Process” mean?
“Guns. Looking for an excuse to change the Constitution.”

Hedgehog commented:
Kenny Solomon: If you go to the ICLEI web site they proudly boast that there are nearly 1200 local governments that are members. What they fail to note is that there are no members from Russia, Cuba, North Korea or Venezuela or Vietnam, and only one from China. Some “global consensus” huh? People had better realize that the U.N. is nothing but a platform for Communist dictatorships to project their foreign policy objectives, chief among which is the destruction of western industrialized nations. All of this “Green” nonsense and “Sustainability” is nothing more than Communist inspired economic warfare directed against the West in general and the United States in particular. Look at the number of cities in the United States that have signed on to this rubbish.
Hedgehog commented:
By the way, WND is reporting that Dodd’s “Livable Communities Act” has been voted out of committee and is headed to the Senate for a vote. Have a look at that monster. Think you own your home? If that monster becomes law, you have a partner. There will be hoards of nanny bureaucrats regulating your stewardship of your property, even making it illegal to sell your home unless you meet their arbitrary standards. Just another assault on liberty. That too must be stopped. It’s Dodd’s last slap at the American people. If these guys are not stopped we will all be subordinated to the U.N. How does that sound?
tarpon commented:
My guess is the Democrats forgot what happened in 1994.
wow commented:
They will be reminded of 1994, and then some. Meanwhile, while people are anxious about their future and trying to make ends meet, these bastards are still trying to get their way. What part of STOP do they not understand?????
Kenny Solomon commented:
Hedgehog, I’ve been onto ICLEI for years – ICR2P as well.
The Liveable Communities Act, that’s 100% ICLEI and more.
Best tool up.

Relax folks, this is part of the new “stimulus” plan; it’s designed to increase gun sales before November 2.
Joanne commented:
Everyone knew this was coming – wouldn’t want those conservative and Christian terrorists having guns now……at least if you are a socialist hell bent on destroying America from within. I wonder what the wrath of gun owners sounds like.
Militant Conservative commented:
Plenty of what is needed. November is political hunting season. Powder is dry

———————————–
1) they wouldn’t sell them
2) why get an M1 when you can get an AK47 (or any other automatic AK variant) a lot easier across the -not guarded- southern border?
3) why bother with any of this when you have already infiltrators in your enemy’s military?
chuck in st paul commented:
The UN Small Arms Treaty (UNSAT) is the underlying actor here. Shrillary is sucking up to the gun grabbers on Turtle Bay, in particular Rebecca Peters, the director of the International Action Network on Small Arms. It’s such a scam.
Bill Fabrizio commented:
Come and get them!
Rock commented:
Accept the fact the 2010 elections are our last chance to save the Republic by peaceful means. And I suspect they will be far from honest. Moments ago news was announced that the Alaskan fishing industry was to be mortally wounded by administration restrictions. As with the news of gun control alluded to in this post, it would appear the Democrats really are not concerned about the elections. All their talk of voter revolt is nothing more than more smoke and mirrors. They quite obviously do not fear the upcoming election. In truth this administration will destroy the Nation piecemeal, they will not create a incident where a large segment of the Nation reacts in violent protest, when they play the most revealing card we will have been segmented into to small pockets of protest. A 1/2 million unarmed people on the mall on a long weekend, while perpetrators of this farce are out of town, means nothing to them. They rule by fear, while we the people meekly voice our concerns. Got the message yet conservatives show up to protest with signs and words, and are met with union thugs with clubs. Little old ladies with signs of protest rate a fully armed riot squad, Black Panthers intimidate voters, and get a walk. Until those sworn to protect the nation take a stand we are nothing more than a vocal nuisance.

OR MAYBE….
It is on the NRA and NSSF supported bill to reform the way BATFE does business and try to keep them from closing down an FFL just because some customer put “Y” instead of “YES” on his 4473. You, know, the bill introduced by the head of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

I don’t know how it is in other states but already here in California you are limited to buying only one handgun a month. Not allowed to buy an “assault rifle” or any gun that holds more than 10 rds in the clip. Or has a removable clip or some such regulation. Even though no one has ever used a Barrett .50 cal to commit a crime they banned them also. So if congress does this then the rest of the country will be just like California.
rabble-rouser commented:
damn I should’ve bought firearms and light bulbs. Is it too late?

Well I moved from Illinois to get out of the anti gun Daley atmosphere. He loses on the McDonald vs Chicago case and now resigns. I moved to Texas and there is no way a texan would give up their guns. Foolish Dems are just give more “ammuntion” to the voters to vote them out. My 6th removed grandfather Francis Lewis signed the Declaration of Independence and lost his fortune and family but gave us the freedom we enjoy. Lock and Loaded as are 80 million other gun owners!

I had ancestors come down from central NH to demonstrate marksmanship to the lobsterbacks at Breed’s Hill. Where the totalitarians of this era seem to have forgotten that lesson, it would be a great pleasure – and I’d consider it an honor – to teach the course again – with live demonstrations of technique. By finals week, this problem will not reoccur for at least another 235 years.
CaptnTony commented:
I agree, reform is needed.
GET THE FEDS OUT OF GUN SALES! No more registration of handguns. Let those that want to buy WWII / Korean War / Iraq War equipment / guns / ammo do so!
SHALL NOT be infringed upon. Pretty simple.
Emil commented:
Yes, this will surely get the Dems elected! I am living in Australia where you must get a license to even own any gun, the police can come at any time and demand you show them your gune and where you store it. You must prove you have a need for a gun. Two nights ago another policeman was killed in Sydney, shot twice….Gee maybe some criminals didn’t turn in their guns. Oh, and Australia doesn’t have a bill of rights!
jim commented:
another attempt to get control of guns.the m1 garand is a semi auto 30-06 and no different than sporting arms sold everyday.i was issued one in 1959 at ft.jackson,sc. selling them all to one buyer might be suspect unless, they are sold to individuals.
Teslin commented:
More states need to start passing the laws that keep the federal government out of gun control in that state. I can’t remember what there called but I think Montanna and Texas among others have them.
