The Chicoms continue to be impressed with the example set by our American President.
The UPI reported on the latest Obama wear on the streets of China.

Money wallets and bags featuring U.S. President Barack Obama dressed in the Red Army communist fatigues of China’s former helmsman Chairman Mao Zedong are being sold in shops in Beijing, September 14, 2010. “Oba-Mao” t-shirts and accessories are big sellers in Beijing due to Obama’s unflagging popularity among many Chinese. At least they know Obama for who he is – ‘it takes one to know one’.

Looks like the WH message is going out loud and clear.
Andreas K. commented:
The irony is, the Chicoms are making money with Obama, following a free market idea, while Obama is working on destroying the same free market in the US.
I wonder how well this stuff sells in the big cities.
Granny commented:
No surprise here. TheWon is a Maoist. Even his “Hope and Change” slogan is almost a direct translation of one Mao used.

Amazing isn’t it. The Chinese know who and what he is but he still has 30 – 35% of Americans fooled.
Time to wake-up “Dim”-ocrats!

#11 – or may 30 – 35% are socialist/communists/marxists as well.
Scott commented:
The Chicoms, Soviets, and more recently Cuba have all adopted free market principles to prevent mass starvation…Why on earth did the democrats elect a marxist??? Marxism and its inherit requirement of totalitarianism has brought more death, misery, and poverty to the world than any socio/political system in the history of the world…And, Obama is supposed to be an intelligent man…Oh, you mean he reads a teleprompter flawlessly. I get it!

I wonder, do the Chicoms revere Mao still? Have they studied the history of the old mass murderer?

We need a little red book of Obama quotations to go with the shirts when we do a street protest. Wear the shirt, wave the book, chant ‘O-Baaa-MA, O-Baa-MA”

This will help.

One has to wonder if the Democracy Protesters from Tienanmen Square would have had the same opinion of him?
Oh that reminds me. Has anyone been to the Galleria and seen the Tank Man exhibit?
There was a time when Americans had real hope of a Chinese Democracy Movement. The Government was even experimenting with free speech. Then, in front of the entire world, they spit in the face of freedom. While the world remembers one lone student blocking a row of tanks. This whole event has been erased from Chinese memory. To the Chinese People it is one big urban legend.

It’s a magic act, watch the assistants and the opposite hand. Obama is asocialist of frightening ability. powder is dry.

Fu commented:
Obviously not a single commenter here has lived in China or has any idea of the psychology behind this design. The designs are 100-percent nationalistic. In order to understand nationalism in China, you have to be aware that there is a type of inferiority complex so severe that is manifests iteself as a superiority complex. This is key to understanding mainland Chinese nationalism. The slogan states that the Chinese currency (the Ren Min Bi = “People’s Money”) is the driving force in world history. In other words, thanks to “Obamao,” the United States of America is in decline Students of history will recall that Mao referred to America as a “paper tiger” (紙老虎). In Chinese culture, this means something that appears formidable, but in fact is quite the opposite. The Chinese “like” Obama to the extent that he is responsible for bringing America to its knees (in their view and hopes) — thus the Mao cap and tunic in the graphical depiction. Obama’s on their side. Let no one doubt that the Chinese are ultra-nationalistic (again, this is a direct symptom of their inferiority complex and should not be confused with American patriotism.) The Chinese people are loving every minute of what they perceive to be China’s rise and the decline of America (n.b., it cannot be overemphasized how much damage Obama’s bowing has done in terms of perceptions). To answer one commenter’s incredulous question, indeed the Chinese do still revere Mao. It matters not that Mao was the most amoral mass murderer of the Chinese people (or in human history). You must also understand this paradox to understand the power and attraction of dysfunctional nationalism in China.
That America will bounce back handily in a year or two from its silly and ill-considered flirtation with Obama and liberalism (he is the best gift American conservatism might have hoped for) has not occurred to the Chinese. But it is a reminder of the danger in projecting American weakness in the world. We’ve yet to see what price is to be paid globally (by democracies such as Taiwan, for instance) for Obama’s open despising of America and American strength.
China will not soon be a superpower — if ever (for no country contemptuous of political freedom can aspire to be one). But they pray and hope for and delight in American decline. This is the *only* message contained in these popular t-shirt, etc. designs.
DukeofWellington commented:
Dude, the message is in Chinglish, but it’s still loud and clear. The tee-shirters know that Obama has screwed up the U.S. economy; that’s why it says the “revolution isn’t success,” meaning successful.
The second tee’s message is, essentially, “money makes the world go round.”
If you think they’re being complimentary to Obama, they’re not! The Chinese government is communist, the people, bless their money-grubbin’ little hearts, have very strong capitalist instincts. These tees seem to be mocking Obama.
One last thing, a “socialist” soldier? Don’t insult the Chinese. A COMMUNIST soldier. That’s what Obama is, and the Chinese who know from communism recognize that. They see Obama as bringing America towards China ideologically.
