FBI Raids the Home of Tea Party RNC Leftist Activist in Terrorism Investigation
Top FARC terrorist Raul Reyes was killed by Colombian forces on March 1, 2008.
Before the FARC terror leader was killed he met with a leader of the radical leftist RNC Welcoming Committee who travelled to Colombia for the meeting. Reyes was responsible for kidnapping Americans and trafficking drugs to pay for terror. Like the Marxist Reyes, RNC activists also planned to kidnap Republican delegates in St. Paul in 2008.
Ray Robison at The Examiner reported on the links between the RNC Welcoming Committee activists and the Marxist FARC terrorists in the Colombian jungles.
Here is part of that report:
The website ProtestRNC2008.org carries a press release which sheds light on the activities of the RNC Welcoming Committee. The online notification posted June 8th, 2007 by a woman named Jessica Sundin calls for a meeting at the University of Minnesota Student Union Center co-hosted by the RNC Welcoming Committee. Sundin is a clerk at the University of Minnesota. Another press release was posted by Sundin in the name of the RNC Welcoming Committee after the convention began.
Ms. Sundin told the Pioneer Press outlet TwinCities.com that she had discussions with the anarchists “but only to make sure they don’t disrupt the march.” Sundin claimed “They’ve made a commitment not to interfere”.
A website called fightbacknews.org describes another meeting held at the University of Minnesota last February. It claims that a gathering of sixty anti-war organizations including the RNC Welcoming Committee met to plan for the protest. Speaking at that meeting was Jessica Sundin. Also headlining the event was Phyllis Walker “president of AFSCME Local 3800, the campus clerical workers union”. That website describes the meeting as such:
“In the weeks leading up to the organizing conference extensive discussions took place among the forces that are planning actions at the Republican National Convention, including the anarchist-oriented RNC Welcoming Committee …”
Videos of the speeches are on Google. These websites indicate that Walker, the union leader and Sundin, a union member coordinated for the RNC Welcoming Committee and that it was open knowledge at the time that it was an anarchist group. The “fight back” website also cites a speech in 2004 by union President Walker about a trade dispute with U of M in which she stated that the union should use “any means necessary”. In 2005 she was served with a summons for obstructing legal process but the charges were dismissed for her role in a campus protest.
The website UnionFacts.org lists Phyllis Walker as a member of the Executive Board of the State, County, and Municipal Employees AFL-CIO Council 5 from which she drew over $11,500 in salary from the Union in 2005-2006, the latest time-frame available at the website. The Council 5 website doesn’t currently list Walker as an executive board member although it does list her as the local 3800 president.
Jessica Sundin was a coordinator of the protests. In media reports she tried to distance the law abiding protest groups and herself from the anarchist group. However, a thorough review of the online record shows that the RNC Welcoming Committee was integral to the planning led by Sundin and Walker.
In one article on the “fight back” website Sundin describes a trip to Columbia to meet with the now deceased infamous FARC commander Raul Reyes as a representative of the “US solidarity activists”. Reyes was a Communist guerrilla fighter known for cocaine trafficking and kidnapping Americans. Saint Paul Police have alleged a kidnapping plot by the anarchists aimed at the RNC.
Sundin described the FARC leader who was convicted of the murders of over a dozen Columbian police officers as such “I enjoyed his warmth and humor. He had a friendly, round face, a quick smile, and surprisingly gentle hands.” Of his death she wrote “The criminal Colombian government and their U.S. accomplices should be called to pay for this cowardly and criminal attack.” The Republican Party strongly supports the government of Columbia in its’ fight against the FARC. Some experts consider anarchist groups to be based on communist ideals and fronts for communist activities.
Thanks to Monica Showalter for the story
FARC terrorists held US defense contractors Keith Stansell, Mark Gonsalves and Thomas Howes since 2003 in the jungles of Colombia until they escaped in 2008.

Gonsalves, Stansell and Howes were doing drug surveillance for the Department of Defense when they were taken hostage in February 2003. The single-engine plane carrying them and two other men crashed in a remote, mountainous region south of Colombia’s capital, Bogota. Almost four years later they were still being held by FARC… until their escape in July 2008.
This weekend the FBI raided the home of Jessica Sundin in Minnesota.
TwinCities.com reported:
The FBI executed six search warrants in Minneapolis this morning, including homes of political activists, in connection to a terrorism investigation.
The warrants were “seeking evidence related to an ongoing Joint Terrorism Task Force investigation into activities concerning the material support of terrorism,” said FBI Special Agent Steve Warfield, spokesman in the Minneapolis office. “There is no imminent threat to the community and we’re not planning any arrests at this time.”
One of the warrants was executed at the home of Mick Kelly, an anti-war organizer, according to his attorney Ted Dooley.
“I have no idea what all this is about,” Dooley said. “Mr. Kelly is an activist, he’s a socialist or perhaps a communist and has been forever. He never hides his political views. They’re fishing. They’re casting big nets into the sea of political activism.”
Before agents confiscated his cell phone, Kelly told the Associated Press: “The FBI is harassing anti-war organizers and leaders, folks who opposed U.S. intervention in the Middle East and Latin America.”
Warrants were also signed to search the homes of Jessica Sundin on Park Avenue and Meredith Aby in South Minneapolis, Dooley said.
Five of the warrants were executed at residences and one at an office, Warfield said.
Warfield said he couldn’t say much in response to the allegations of attorneys and the people searched. “It’s an ongoing criminal case and these warrants were signed off by a federal judge,” he said.
The investigation is ongoing.

If I had to guess, I’d say that RNC is supposed to be DNC ? … Not real easy to confuse the two, but an easy mistake to make when typing late at night!
Indigo Red commented:
RNC is correct. However, in this case it stands for Republican National Convention which was held in the Twin Cities, Minnesota in 2008. The RNC Welcoming Committee was an anarchist group that coordinated and facilitated decentralized organization for other activist groups to disrupt the Republican Party convention. Causing confusion was a major intent of the anarchists in naming their group RNC Welcoming Committee, but they were in no way associated with the legitimate RNC.
The website for RNC Welcoming Committee provided in the Jim’s link has been shut down with requests redirected to http://milwaukee.indymedia.org/en/2007/09/208275.shtml and the domain name rncwelcomingcommittee.org is for sale.

This is bizarre and deep. I remember when they clogged many streets and backed up traffic in hopes that no one would be able to attend the convention. They tried to incite riots. The depth of the thuggary I did not know. These are B Hussein Supporters.

I believe these people were also involved in the firebombing of the governor’s mansion in Austin during the Texas state democratic convention.
Several of those arrested in the Twin Cities were from Texas and were at both conventions.

Why is “Tea Party” struck out in the title?
DINORight commented:
I believe the RNC in the title makes this article sound like Republicans are being attacked. The headline would be better understood if “anarchist anti-RNC group” or some variation of that was used.
I remember when these guys were planning on repeating the 1968 convention mayhem, to attempt to destroy the RNC in Minnesota. The people responsible for the 2008 attempt are Weathermen-like activists. Good to see that this administration is at least attempting to investigate them. Killing the guy may have been avoidable…….that is all tbd.
I understand why the Tea Party is in strike-out in the sub-headline – the liberal left and Pravda Media continually make the Tea Party out to be the terrorists. However, this headline can be better worded so as not to mislead readers – on the left and right – to think that the Republicans are tied to these treasonous terrorists. Just my $.02.

The sub-head might be more readable if it said:
FBI Raids the Home of Anti-GOP Activist in Terrorism Investigation
These people call themselves ‘anti-war’ but they are nothing of the kind. They support FARC’s war against the democratically elected government of Columbia. They advocate all types of violence, no matter how depraved, when it serves their anti-American Marxist agenda.

Welcome to The People’s Republic of Minnesota. The U here is a hotbed of leftists, anarchists, and other America haters. In the mean time the public goes around with their heads inserted fully and completely in their colons. Consider that one of the law profs over there is the one who presented for the UN against America in more than one Human Rights accusation. They also voted for Wellstone and Diaper Boy (aka Al Franken).
This is deja vu all over again. We’ve got a bunch of left over (pardon the pun) 60′s airheads and drug addled ‘protesters’ who have found a bunch of out of control “anarchists” (e.g., sociopaths) to do their dirty work while proclaiming themselves as peaceful protesters. Some of these assclowns actually tried to kill people going to the convention. Tells ya all ya gotta know.

This whole piece is confusing. Better to take time to clarify the non-association between the RNC Welcoming Committee and the real RNC itself. Geez!
C’mon, Jim. You can do better than that!!!!!

Isn’t there a much, much bigger bombshell waiting in the wings?
I’m talking about the connection between Nancy Pelosi and these folks. Remember that Pelosi sent Rep. Jim McGovern (D. MA) to negotiate with the FARC about God-knows-what (perhaps the cover was “negotiating” for the release of the above-mentioned hostages). Captured FARC documents stated that there werre meetings with “Americans,” but no details were provided by investigators. I assume that one of the results of those findings was that some of those “Americans” were the Minnessota radicals. Who were the others?
The FARC is a narco-guerilla outfit these days, and Pelosi and McGovern are corrupt leftist politicians. Pelosi in particular is the last in the long line of the Baltimore D’Allessandro family, a Maryland political dynasty, a fact which made them a virtual crime syndicate. Pelosi had learned at her father’s knee to have contempt for the law.
What is the connection between the Speaker of the House and these murderous radicals, and what is her connection to FARC?

you forgot to mention the thousands of Colombians kidnapped, killed, or fleeing these thugs, or that last year a million Colombianos protested their “war”.
