DISGRACED White House Economist Calls For More Spending in Farewell Address

White House Official Christina Romer wants more stimulus.
This is the same official who just last year claimed the Trillion dollar stimulus was working.
Some leftists never learn…
In her farewell address today, disgraced White House economist Christina Romer will call for more spending.
Reuters reported:
Departing White House economist Christina Romer called on Wednesday for further steps to stimulate the U.S. economy, saying high budget deficits should not be an excuse for allowing the unemployed to suffer.
“We have tools that would bring unemployment down without worsening our long-run fiscal outlook, if we can only find the will and the wisdom to use them,” Romer said in excerpts from a speech she will deliver later at the National Press Club.
The remarks come as a recent raft of data have suggested the U.S. economy has begun to falter after signs last spring that seemed to show it was on the mend.
The reports have put pressure on President Barack Obama’s Democrats ahead of November 2 elections that could shift the balance of power in the U.S. Congress.
Obama said this week that he and his advisers were discussing ideas to help boost the recovery, but his spokesman said these would likely be targeted measures.

Romer obviously missed Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Michael Mullen’s speech last week where he announced that debt is the top national security threat.

Even the most economically inept of us realizes that if you run through your money, you need to go apply for a payday loan to get more – and if you run through that, you have to pay it back before you can have another.
Just the interest to service the humongous debt this regime has run up is astounding. We are now approaching a position where we bring in just about enough money to pay the interest on what we’ve borrowed.
At some point the unemployed are going to have to suffer, simply because there will be too many of them for the working populace to support.

If lefties really believed this kind of spending worked, why don’t all the millionaire/billionare musicians, movie stars, and tv personalities (here’s looking at you, Oprah) donate a few tens or hundreds of millions of dollars into a collective pot which Barry and the Democrats can go spend? But no, they don’t do that, won’t put their money where their mouths are.

Those of us that are debt free and have stocked up on ammo, food, fuel, and etc are going to be just fine. There may be some nasty things along the way but the future in good for those that have prepaired. unlike the grasshopper democrats that wish to steal from the ant that works. powder is dry.

I only glanced at the title and thought it said; “Deranged White House Economist….”. I think that title would fit also, in fact it would fit a lot of the administration and most of Congress.

A trillion dollars worth of rational spending may have had a salutary effect on the economy. But the Jivemaster and the Pelosi-Reid Congress stole a trillion dollars from present and future savers and taxpayers and redistributed it to special interests and parasites.
Let’s see how much Berkeley gets in the next round of government theft.
