Muslims were upset that German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke at an awards ceremony today with Danish Mohammad cartoonist Kurt Westergaard.
Reuters reported:
German Chancellor Angela Merkel risked angering Muslims by speaking at an awards ceremony on Wednesday for a Dane whose cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed provoked sometimes violent protests by Muslims five years ago.
The 75-year-old cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, whose drawings of Mohammed that offended Muslims worldwide first appeared in Danish paper Jyllands-Posten in 2005, was due to receive a prize Wednesday evening at a conference on freedom of the press.
At a time of fierce debate in Germany over disparaging remarks about Muslim immigrants made by a central bank member, some Muslims criticized the center-right chancellor and the media said she was taking a risk by honoring a man whom many Muslims believe insulted their faith.
Aiman Mazyek of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany said in a statement: “Merkel is honoring the cartoonist who in our view trampled on our Prophet and trampled on all Muslims.”
“By having her photo taken next to Kurt Westergaard, Merkel is taking a huge risk,” wrote the conservative daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung before the ceremony.“It will probably be the most explosive appointment of her chancellorship so far.”
The mass-circulation Bild, which has voiced admiration for Bundesbank member Thilo Sarrazin for depicting Turkish and Arab immigrants as welfare spongers who fail to integrate, praised Westergaard and said Merkel’s presence showed Germany “does not back down in the face of threats from Islamist fanatics.”

Why is it a risk for this German Chancellor to have their picture taken with the Danish cartoonist? Because muslims are trying to bully all of us into doing exactly what they want us to do with the threat of violence. well, history repeats itself. It was at the Gates/Siege of Vienna that stopped Suliman and the Muslims from taking over Europe from Christendom. Vienna was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire which included Germany.

You are essentially correct for the time of the Siege of Vienna in the late 1600s. In the early 1800s Napoleon decided that he would claim the crown of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Rather than simply hand it over, the then-emperor simply dissolved the empire. The various nations that make up what we today call Germany were all then independent nations – and mostly not happy about it. Napoleon was quite put out.
It was this dissolution that instigated a lot of Hitler’s claims too. That is where the idea came from that Austria, Czechoslavakia & Poland were “German territory” as those had all been part of the old Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Merkel is NOT brave.
Merkel has been defending the catastrophic immigration situations with mohammedans in Germany just a few days ago. She has bashed Thilo Sarrazin over his book without even reading it.
This is merely some damage control for her public image after going at Sarrazin like a mad cow.
Meanwhile Merkel is already getting flak from her favorite immigrants, the muselmaniacs, over this issue. They say that Merkel is helping “islamophobia” with it. Just wait, she’ll soon backpaddle.
This woman share responsibility for the chaos in Germany and Europe. She is a Eurocrat, she has just pissed on freedom of speech and freedom of thought when attacking Thilo Sarrazin. This is nothing but an Obama-style photo-op.
The German islamo-critics aren’t taking this action serious. They know that Merkel is an enemy of the German people. Merkel’s own party, the so called CDU/CSU (the C stands for Christian) has been catering to mohammedans left and right. They have betrayed their founding principles, and she’s been happy about it.
Compare Merkel to Obama?
Yes, please. You’ll see that they’re not so different. Merkel also likes spending like crazy, as the budget for 2010 easily proves. She has no regard for her own people but rather caters to “immigrants” (as the German politicians and media always like to say, but in reality they mean mohammedans, because other immigrants have no issues with integrating into German society.) And she’s working hard on destroying Germany.
The woman is incompetent. She made the Sarrazin book her personal crusade. Then she mercifully allowed a discussion about immigration, within certain limits of course. Then she saw the backlash from The People, and now she’s trying to do some damage control with this stunt. Nothing else.
The Germans call her “Ferkel”, “Pantssuit” and “Mommy” (for her arrogant way of dealing with the whole Sarrazin issue.)
Don’t even call Ferkel “brave.” She’s just an opportunist who fears her seat is on fire.
Why?
Cause Sarrazin has massive support from The People. If Thilo Sarrazin would found a party right now, he’d get more than 18% of the votes. Of course that scares Merkel.
In her speech she said: “Those who wish death on this man are not welcome in Germany.”
A commenter on PI, the largest islamo-critical German blog, said: “But those who beat up and kill Germans are welcome, eh?”
Merkel is an opportunist wench who got flak from The People over Sarrazin, now she’s putting up a show.
Forget her. She’s as incompetent as Obama.

2007 the German ARD (government owned station) burned a Bible on tv in a documentary about Christian fundamentalists in Germany.
It was “art”, and ther holy brave Merkel, who was chancellor back then already, didn’t protest or anything. But now, with the koran, everybody’s screaming murder.

Nope, they’re not.
Just last week Merkel was bashing Sarrazin for his book. She attacked free speech. Now she receives the backlash from The People and she’s cowering pulling of a photo-op.
There is no free speech in Germany. It’s DEAD. More dead than in the US.

I’ll believe Angela Merkel is serious about standing up to the threat of Islamic jihad when I see something more than this bit of pap thrown to the media; I’ll believe it when she gets serious about cracking down on terror cells in her country; I’ll believe it when she has some choice words to say (and some actions would be nice too) about German nationals/companies/groups that give aid to the Islamic jihad.
