Two ministers stood in a Tennessee backyard and torched the Koran today.
WSMV reported:
Despite multiple pleas to reconsider, two local religious leaders held a private Quran burning in a Springfield backyard Saturday afternoon.
The Rev. Bob Old and the Rev. Danny Allen both had different reasons for burning the Muslim holy book, but they said it had nothing to do with whether or not a mosque was built near ground zero.
“It’s about faith, it’s about love, but you have to have the right book behind you. This is a book of hate, not a book of love,” said Old while holding up a Quran.
The two men said they burned the books to defend the United States Constitution and the American people. It’s a move that has been denounced by Christian groups, politicians and even some of their family members.

I don’t condone burning anyone’s holy book, but I got so angry just now listening to Geraldo Rivera (aka Jerry Rivers), I had to turn the TV off! All that pandering and political correctness toward this so called religion is disgusting! They burn Bibles and murder Christians and who is outraged? BUT everyone gets their undies in a wad over burning a Koran! They are stoning women and murdering all over the world and Geraldo thinks they they are just nice neighbors next door? How delusional!

Martin Luther (ca. 1520) on the Koran: “What a foul and shameful book it is. . . It denies Jesus is God’s Son . . . it denies Jesus is Savior . . . Mohammed exalts himself; he has ‘talked’ with God and angels to compel the world, if unwilling, by sword to his faith . . . The Koran teaches followers to destroy not only the Christian faith, but the whole temporal government — and that by the sword . . . The Turk [Muslim] is nothing but a murderer and a highwayman . . . The legions of the prophet are demonic and a worldly manifestation of pure evil.”
“All fanatics, as a rule, when the spirit of lies has taken possession of them and led them away from the true faith, have been unable to stop there, but have followed the lie with murder and taken up the sword, as a sign that they were children of the father of all lies and murder.”
Militant Conservative commented:
make no mistake, i read what I am burning. The crap that is the koran is only fit for feeble minded bed wetters. It is totaly a peice of arrogant supremist tripe. not even worthy of the toilet paper I religate it too. Jesus was a better prophet. powder is dry.

wow, i had no idea MLK said anything like that..
thank you so much for sharing..
and albeit i’ve posted the following several
times.. i’d like to share it with everyone..
“For 12 long years I lived within the narrow-minded confines of the ‘straightjacket world’ created by my strong belief that Elijah Muhammad was a messenger direct from God Himself, and my faith in what I now see to be a pseudo-religious philosophy that he preaches…. I shall never rest until I have undone the harm I did to so many well-meaning, innocent Negroes who through my own evangelistic zeal now believe in him even more fanatically and more blindly than I did.”

Well didn’t I just click the button too fast! BG, Martin Luther King did NOT say that. The quotation is from the man that MLK was named after, German theologian and founder of “protestantism” Martin Luther.

Well, it is a FREE Country, and we all should be very proud that Americans have the right to practice Free Speech, and make Political – even Religious Statements.
I am not one who thinks this is attractive, or would encourage crude acts in this manner.
However, I would like to say, Americans were not burning Korans after 9-11, nor were they doing this when the Bush Administration was in the OFFICE.
This is clearly a growing ‘push back’, a resentment building, where Americans who have been truly restrained, decent, fair, are probably worn out with this garbage being forced upon them.
The GROUND ZERO MOSQUE folly might not have been the final straw, but clearly the responses and expression enabling all this absurdity from the Democratic Partisans in POWER, like Barack Obama, as well as a dysfunctional Partisan Media – has begun to be simply TOO MUCH to stomach for many.
The feeling to speak out, to make a strong statement, to “shout” enough, is growing.
This is a primary failure of the Democratic Partisan Leadership, who are making everyone nervous. If Obama led, accurately expressed a fair strength in the face of this horrid Muslim Militancy, perhaps these Americans would not feel the NEED to act – to express themselves.
There is a clear exhaustion with the current offering, which appears to be designed to weakly appease the most concerning Radical Muslims. Obama’s insane silence in the face of the Iranian Dictatorship slaughtering their own People, the attempt to hide the reality of the many Domestic Terrorist Attacks by Islamic Extremes (such as the Christmas Bomber and the horror at Fort Hood), the overt placation sophistry encountered in numerous offerings by the Obama Administration, including this President’s speech in Cairo – the mindless “manmade” Napolitano embarrassment, (even the horrid treatment of Israel – Others to please the Muslim Community), etc., has simply been alarming.
Americans are reacting to this enabling, knowing the threats from Radical Muslims are sincere, unacceptable, and will only be made far worse with the Democratic Party’s offering (just as we encountered during the 1990′s).
This Book Burning message might actually be healthy in the long run. We may actually see the Muslim Community grow concerned with the World increasingly lose it’s patience, and build an overwhelming movement demanding Muslims change this radical – dysfunctional offering. And Muslims might actually be forced with an enraged – GLOBAL Public condemnation, to consider some type of reformation. At least the unpopularity, encouraged with these protests, might just make a troubled American Youth, rethink embracing some insane Jihad. We all know how many in Media Establishments have tried via POPULAR Culture to sell the exotic – and this may be a natural push in the other direction.
Some are probaby right, this will be exploited by Al Qaeda forces, as something they wish to see. They will hope their terrorist death, divides the various Religious Communities.
But we in the USA, and the rest of the Free West, has been so restrained in responding to the Radical Muslim DEATH provided throughout the Globe. Maybe Americans are showing they have had enough. And without serious, sound, strong Leadership, like the Bush Administration, they are growing very restless.

O/T Well, I want everyone to honor our Jewish friends…
Now that the violent and bloody ‘ramadan’ of the Mohammedans is over it is time for the real New Year 5771.. you will love the Yom Kippur service..
http://www.jewishtvnetwork.com/highHolidays/
We must restore honor and love for each other, to refute the cynicism and banality of the Zero regime…
‘An uplifting and beautiful thing happened Saturday as I was escorted through the hundreds of thousands lining the Reflecting Pool on my way to the reserved seats for those who would be standing with Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin at the Finale of the “Restore Honor” rally.
The crowd cheered and applauded my Yarmulke. They yelled out: “Shalom. Shabbat Shalom. We love Israel. Thank you for coming.”
They weren’t cheering me per se, but, as represented by my yarmulke and rabbinic disposition, the Jewish People and Biblical Judaism. The affection and warmth of the crowd was palpable and undeniable.
The bigotry that the media and New York City elites speak about is nothing but a concoction, manufactured in their own parochial minds, reflecting an ever-increasing darkness in their hearts that feels more sympatico with Islam than Christian America.
The same enthusiasm and special salutations greeted me throughout the streets on my way back to my hotel: Shalom! As I told Michael Savage in an interview: “The people who attended want nothing but to love, honor and identify with America. They ask nothing from America; rather delight in giving to her, offering even their children in the military so as to defend us. They identify with the Judeo-Christian ethos and, as do I, define America in those terms. They see their country being taken from them by an elitist corps intent on stripping it of its historic character, transforming us into a placid, non-distinct Europe, and consigning us and our values to second-class status, replacing nationalism with transnationalism.”‘
They Cheered My Yarmulke at Beck’s Rally
Let’s all be Americans this Yom Kippur.

Doing something which intentionally hurts those of another faith is not a Christian act, and burning books is not an American act.
These jerks are anti-Christian and anti-American.

What amuses the hell out of me is that we are worried if we burn the koran that the Muslims might get pissed at us – um, thought they already were?
It’s kind of like the 9/11 Mosque thing. Just because they are NUTS and might kill us, we need to genuflect to them.
They burn our flag and our bibles and would NEVER let us build the First Baptist Church of Mecca, but we are supposed to bend over for them?
How about this, “Hell yeah, we ARE at war with Islam and we will be until you root these a**holes who are killing everyone out of your religion.” We are the most powerful nation on earth, why do we have to always act like such pussies?
Long ago I said that the major world powers need to get together and say, ok, we have had enough with these idiots in the Middle East and their mother of this, and mother of that. We are going to invade all of you and take over your damned countries and your oil because we gave you a chance to act civilized and you won’t so, f*ck you, we are comin.
Allah Ackbar that!
