Thanks Barack – Thanks Nancy – Thanks Harry
Barack Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression and possibly is the worst jobs president in US History.

They wanted to fundamentally change America. They did.
The US unemployment rate has not fallen below 10.8 percent in the last 12 13 months. This is unprecedented.

The economy shed more jobs in July as the unemployment rate remained at 9.5%.
The Wall Street Journal reported, via Michelle Malkin:

The U.S. economy shed more jobs than expected in July while the unemployment rate held steady at 9.5%, a further sign the economic recovery may be losing momentum.

Nonfarm payrolls fell by 131,000 last month as the rise in private-sector employment was not enough to make up for the government jobs lost, the U.S. Labor Department said Friday. Only 71,000 private-sector jobs were added last month while 143,000 temporary workers on the 2010 census were let go.

Economists polled by Dow Jones Newswires were expecting total nonfarm payrolls to drop by a smaller 60,000 in July.

The June data was revised down significantly. Payrolls fell 221,000 that month, more than the 125,000 drop previously reported, as only 31,000 jobs were added in the private sector.

UPDATE: Thanks again to BB for sending the updated jobs graph–

  1. Poor unemployed people! No job and arugula sky high.

On the bright side, I hear that the President and First Lady are hiring grape-peelers for their next soiree.

  2. Cloward-Piven strategy moving along nicely as planned. Thanks, al-Bama!

  3. Move over Jimmy Carter, there’s a new loser in town!

  4. Someone with math skills has to explain to me how you lose more jobs, but the rate stays the same. I mean if you start out with a dollar and you lose 50 cents, you no longer have a dollar. They only count those on unemployment insurance, how about the people in the bread lines, they don’t count.

  5. I think they are fudging the numbers, then revising previous months to give themselves cover in case someone starts to figure out what they are doing.

“The June data was revised down significantly. Payrolls fell 221,000 that month, more than the 125,000 drop previously reported, as only 31,000 jobs were added in the private sector.”

So payrolls fell 96,000 more than was reported last month?

    “You Lie!”

  6. jainphx: You only count a portion of the bread line. Or I should say “they” only count a portion of the line. Once you’ve stood in line too long, you are no longer counted. In other words, if you are unemployed for too long and you get tired of standing in the Obama unemployment office, then you are no longer counted. Because that means you aren’t looking for work, according to them. So the rate of 9.5 seems to stand pretty close to constant, even though the number of people without jobs continues to swell. But they also missed one. A young entrepreneur started her own business (lemonade stand) and was shut down by government. I smell the work of Obama’s union forces here.

  7. That little girl has just found out just how stupid and uncaring this cadre of communists really are. I’m surprised they didn’t frog march her and her parents off to the lock up.

Really what have we become? How did we let this happen? The big question is do we have the guts to fix it.

  8. Also, the somewhat constant 9.5 rate is really the number of people in line, not the number of unemployed. So when the rate goes up, and it will, the WH incredibly calls it good news. How? They say because new jobs were created, more people became hopeful again and got back in line. How about if just ask this question—if the economy is holding its own and is recovering slowly, then why are tax receipts down? Shouldn’t they be the same or more?
Allright, I’ve got to get away and unwind from all this stress and head to Spain with 50 of my friends.

  9. We allow people like John McCain to reach across, or around knowing full well what he’s actually up to. 12 MILLION spent in a primary election as a sitting Senator. Not one cent of his money. I don’t know about you, but why do we keep sending people like him to Washington so they can ruin a little girls ambition, what a message to send to the public. Some days it doesn’t pay to get out of bed.

  10. Mark—– so what you’re saying is you’re unemployed but it doesn’t count because you’re too long unemployed. How do we let them get away with this? Are we as a whole that stupid. I can’t remember who it was ( maybe Bobby the wonder boy) said that 31,000 more people lost their jobs was good news, and yet 41% of the people approve of this maniac.

  11. jainphx: If you want to see more on counting jobs is part magic see here: http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/learn-how-to-invest/The-real-unemployment-rate.aspx

  12. OT but related – Kerry is taking up where Obama’s new Nasa outreach program left off:

Sending our money overseas to train outsource workers… flying Muslims in to train and work here… oi.

  13. obama is the worst president in history. God bless you President George W. Bush, the greatest president in history. Boy, do we miss you now.

  14. I like that updated graph with the “Jobs not created/saved”

I’m afraid we will likely see more and more of this from here on out. They are locked in to the Keynes economic model for debt and spending and in the end it’s a failure. And I don’t think it’s one particular party that’s to blame.

  15. Meanwhile, back in those Milwaukee classrooms those union teachers want to be “ready when the moment is right”.

  16. Let’s get this straight, if EVERYONE is without a job for 6 months and stops looking, the unemployment rate will be calculated as 0%. Typical of a Democrat/ progressive/socialist/communist regime. 100% is 0%. These Gov’t numbers are ALL completely fabricated horses**t! The actual unemployment is probably around 25% but the media must conceal this from the public to prop up the failed Obama presidency and regime. Propaganda marches on, Comrades

  17. I’m having trouble reconciling two sentences in your post:

The US unemployment rate has not fallen below 10.8 percent in the last 13 months. This is unprecedented.

The economy shed more jobs in July as the unemployment rate remained at 9.5%.

Which is it? It hasn’t fallen below 10.8? Or it remained at 9.5?

The Misery Index chart you link never shows a 10.8 figure.

I’m not trolling. I really am confused.
