Worst. Congress. Ever.
31 million Americans are currently out of work. But, rather than focus on job creation the Pelosi-Obama regime has taken over car companies, nationalized student loans, nationalized health care, sued Arizona for supporting immigration law and shut down deep oil production in the Gulf of Mexico. They’ve punished producers and redistributed wealth. They’ve attacked, and slandered and smeared opponents and hardworking Americans.
American Observer recently created a video to show the record job losses since Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Harry Reid took over Congress in 2007.
It’s not a pretty picture:
From the video:
According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are nearly 31 million people currently unemployed — that’s including those involuntarily working parttime and those who want a job, but have given up on trying to find one. In the face of the worst economic upheaval since the Great Depression, millions of Americans are hurting. “The Decline: The Geography of a Recession,” as created by labor writer LaToya Egwuekwe, serves as a vivid representation of just how much. Watch the deteriorating transformation of the U.S. economy from January 2007 — approximately one year before the start of the recession — to the most recent unemployment data available today.
Jobless claims today jumped to their highest level in almost 6 months.

The RNC, if they had a pair, would purchase the rights to this video, amend it to mention that Pelosi & Co took over Congress in 2007, and run it against EVERY democratic candidate running for Congress in November.

so how long will our President, OBAMA, wait before he
puts all these people back into fine jobs? Surely he is
not going to leave them jobless for more than a week
or two??????

Market Drop Signals Fears About Global Recovery
[The optimism that had pervaded Wall Street only weeks ago has faded quickly. In its place is a growing realization of what many Americans have been feeling in their bones: this is not the economic recovery the nation had hoped for. While the economy is growing again, it is growing too slowly to create many jobs or to increase household incomes.
Given the uneven rebound in the United States, and now signs that the world’s other economic engines are slowing, economists say Americans may confront high unemployment and lackluster growth for some time to come.]

How about on a leaky barge in the middle of Lake Michigan? We can move all the G’tmo prisoners there too. Michelle will look great in orange.

Reminder:
We’ve had a Pelosi-Reid Congress since January, 2007.

The RNC and candidates should be running on the question Reagan asked.
“Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?”
This is not a 2008 problem. All numbers should date from Nov 2006 when Madame Pelosi assumed control of the whorehouse and Harry and his democrat colleagues, including BO, launched an assault on the treasury.
Also, don’t forget that Bush used $375 billion of TARP, mostly for banks that have paid it back. He asked BO after the election whether he should cancel it or leave it available. BO & Co, wanted it all available. A blunder was doubled with another $1 trillion pissed away completely independent of W. All blessed and voted on by the Democratic majority as they robbed the taxpayer.

a city somewhere had the brainstorm of moving homeless into foreclosed homes. now, in the new wonderful wooly world of obama what are the chances that they get to keep them? one night on the news a report was done on a homeless man who moved himself into a pricy home that had been foreclosed…..i think the feel good justification was that an empty home would bring own the values of the other houses
those nicely tended flower beds need tending and many mental giants never consider that……

I’ll probably get flamed for this, but here goes. As a conservative and a person whose life is touched by those who are unemployed, I cannot in good conscience vote for Republicans during this recession.
I believe that the unemployed deserve to be protected by the safety net, no matter the reason they are unemployed. I’m Christian first, Republican second, and under the circumstances I will vote Democrat if it means my loved ones will not starve at night.

Well, the sad thing is, you might also one day find yourself and your own family starving, if you vote to continue this entitlement/welfare/socialism mindset and policies. And I’m sorry — but do you seriously believe in this country anyone would truly starve? There ARE charity organizations that I do believe would kick in and help. Take a family in if you have to — that’s what Americans used to do before they began to consider government their sole caretaker. Perhaps in doing so we would return to true compassion for our fellow man in this country — something I believe we’ve lost through our great prosperity.

Never fear “toxic?”. Your vote can still be counted for the Dims LONG after your “loved ones” AND yourself have starved to death by voting Dimocrat. They will take care of all of the petty details long after you’re gone, too.

Toxie, yes I have watched bad B movies.
You have no concept of how the economy works. When the safety net is taken away is when the economy turns a corner and goes up. the NOTUS does not want this. He is killing the economy from within to distroy our country. This is all willful and planned. google cloward and piven. It will scare you to death and this is Obama’s objective. get ready for a Global depression. FDR did not get us out of the last one, WWII did. we repeat history yet again.
powder is dry.

You just swerved into the exact reason why the Dem’s do what they do. They want you subsistant so they can have your vote. DEM’S CAUSE misery in order to releive your pain via piss ant small checks (that are taxed). Wake up, I know your young and have not learned economics that well. Guess what, your going to get a case study in the real world due to Obama. powder is dry.

Those tax payers just don’t know how to shake their money maker. But, I know how to shake mine while Gerrymandering!
Further, I know how to screw the dickens out of Fannie Mae – while increasing my income. Remember a, “Bird in the Butt is worth two in the bush.” So, screw Fannie Mae in the butt. It pays!
As some famous person once said: “Ask not what your Public Servant can do for you. Ask what you can do for your Public Servant.” I say give me your money! I know how to spend it!
[Your government at work]
“Over the last 30 months of the current recession private sector employment has declined by at least 7% but public sector employment is unchanged or possibly even grew.”
Barney Frank: But I have my job and my lush perks! I don’t know why anybody would want to be a tax payer! It’s so much easier spending other people’s money! Being a politician is the best job in America! You set your own wages, gerrymander your own district and you can’t be fired!
toxicavenger commented:
Guys, the reason I cannot vote Republican during the recession is because they are trying to remove the only safety net my loved ones have.
You would do whatever you can to make sure your loved ones don’t starve at night. I’m only looking out for my people.
If it’s a matter of you being offended that I’m voting for the enemy, perhaps you should take it up with the GOP for pushing me away.

On Jan 3rd 2007, when the Democrats took over both the house and senate, the unemployment rate was 4.4 percent. Why the Republicans haven’t been talking about this for the last year is beyond me. They have LET the media and Obama and the democrats say its Bush’s fault over and over and over again. And that messaghe has worked.
This election is not a presidential election. The dems have had control for nearly 4 years and its their bills and policies that took unemployment from 4.4 percent to nearly 10 percent. Are you better off then 4 years ago indeed. That should be the message.
