Popular conservative Sarah Palin confronted an unhinged leftist in Homer, Alaska who hates her… But wants her as governor. Go figure.
Via Breitbart TV:
From the video: Sarah Palin engaged in a back and forth with a protester in the city of Homer, AK. After the first few talking points the protester ran out of ammo and Ms. Palin cleaned up the mess. What began as a confrontational moment ended with the former Alaska Governor telling her detractor “we probably have a lot in common” and the protester agreed.
UPDATE: Apparently, the “lame-stream” media is now commenting on Sarah Palin’s eyebrow movements.
Sarah Palin responded today:
The LSM has now decided to use this brief encounter for another one of their spin operations. They claim I – wait for it – “appear to roll my eyes” when the lady tells me she’s a teacher. Yes, it’s come to this: the media is now trying to turn my eyebrow movements into story lines. (Maybe that’s why Botox is all the rage – if you can’t move your eyebrows, your “eye rolling” can’t be misinterpreted!) If they had checked their facts first, they would have known that I come from a family of teachers; my grandparents were teachers, my father was a teacher, my brother is a teacher, my sister works in Special Needs classrooms, my aunt is a school nurse, my mom worked as a school secretary for much of her professional life, we all volunteer in classrooms, etc., etc., etc. Given that family history, how likely is it that I would “roll my eyes” at someone telling me that they too work in that honorable profession? Stay classy, LSM.
Thanks to John, for the update.

I didn’t get a good look at that angry liberal woman, are you sure it wasn’t Rosie O’Donnell? I don’t believe she’s actually from Alaska either… I’d venture to say that she’s probably a naturalized citizen of the Isle of Lesbos.

“I’m a teacher.”
Says it all, doesn’t it?
wanumba commented:
Remember. Our children are hostage in class 8-3 every day being dominated by exactly that mold of female classroom tyrant. They can’t engage in debate talk back as Palin did – they’d get their grades dinged down.
WOMEN should not be allowed to dodge their active complicity in wrecking our educational system.

She’s in … And better than ever.

To quote a common bumper sticker from those parts…”Homer, a quaint little drinking village with a fishing problem.”
Anyone who isn’t familiar with Alaskan people and politics can’t fully appreciate how talented Gov. Palin is. Whether that translates nationally is a different issue. It’s unfortunate, however, that a large portion of the electorate didn’t, and doesn’t, care to give her an honest assessment.
DINORight commented:
I have to laugh that this lady is holding up a banner that says “WORST GOVERNOR EVER” and in almost her first breath says she wanted her to be governor! Seriously, the lady is angry because she is buying into the lies of the MSM. Sarah Palin resigned because her effectiveness as a governor was being undermined by leftists who were gaming the system and halting her progress for the people of Alaska – and milking the taxpayers to boot.
Kudos to Sarah! She defused the situation, took the whole thing in stride (who says she’s thin-skinned?!) and actually gets the lady to admit that she agrees with Sarah’s fundamental principles! Woo hoo! What a great leader! Can she take the left to neutral, then perhaps the rest of the way to her/our side? You betcha!

Obama has passed a work bill, so if you work 6 hours a year, his administration can statistically claim he created a job.
Where are the jobs? you freak of stupidity president?

well unlike the POTUS we now have video proof that Palin has cojones

Classic Sarah line at the end. “Well, it’s nice ta meet ya anyway!”
BigAlSouth commented:
Funny, how Glynnis MacNicol over at Mediate had this to say about Sarah’s close encounter of the Turd kind:
“Is this a preview of what Sarah Palin can expect should she ever decide to enter the rough and tumble (i.e. outside the confines of her Facebook safety zone) world of political campaigns? If so, it appears Palin did not acquit herself all that impressively.”
Come, on, Glynnis! Had to throw that Facebook reference in there! That’s a good liberal.
Now just go away, please.
nomobama commented:
I love Sarah. I laughed when I saw the expression on her face when the lady said that she was a teacher. The lady indicated that she was better in “stills” or “still shots”, meaning pictures, instead of on video. I can understand that because in that way, people don’t get to hear her inane tripe.
Kevin P commented:
Contrast that with 0 meeting a tea party member.

One good thing to come out of this little episode, though, is that it helps to remind people once again that Alaska is a great state full of independent-minded people. I look forward to introducing you to some of them in the forthcoming documentary series on life in Alaska! The show will remind you to get outdoors, breathe in God’s creation, and taste the freedom!

A suspect few viewers have ever been to Homer, AK. The only thing I can equate Homer to is the Haight- Ashbury district in the late 1960s. I think many of the same people populated both areas, then and now.
It is a fun town with a lot of cool bars and honest to God hippies squatting on the beach.
Hmmmm, a teacher protester from Homer.

This isn’t very politically correct to say, but these days most teachers just aren’t very bright. Hardly surprising her thought process consists of regurgitated DNC talking points.
Brooklyn commented:
This is another really embarrassing moment. The protester is overt, the sign is silly of course. But the whole thing is regretful. Every appearance by the Hockey Mom, is a genuine let down these days.
This is not Presidential. It is interesting Mrs. Palin went out to confront – but I would have cautioned against it, for better judgment. It looks – not intentionally – but for some reason, it looks a little like intimidation of the Democratic Partisan. The two Men, (one Security, one was Todd eating the cookie?), who are trying to “BLOCK” the camera made matters far worse. This is not healthy for anyone in politics as it gives the appearance of trying to hide – it is all terribly weak.
The woman claims to be upset with Mrs. Palin, because Sarah Palin quit the job to peddle her Celebrity and make money – and free her for future ambition. This is true, nothing can diminish this reality. It is as obvious as Hillary Clinton exploiting the NY Senate Seat to run for President. Abandoning the Governorship was irresponsible, especially for someone deemed to be a true Conservative.
Sarah Palin ducks the entire aspect of peddling her celebrity, and doesn’t work at all. The idea she is out on a crusade to ‘save the country’ falls flat to many who know Politicians all too well. They – rightly so – are like all Human Beings, seeking to achieve, just like everyone else.
Some are trying to spin this recent, embarrassing interaction of Mrs. Palin with this protester. We get a little lost in defending Our own sometimes, against the ugly nature of the Democratic Disaster. Some are stuck on an idealistic perception of Mrs. Palin a perfect ‘superhero’. The product of overt hype can, a failure to be honest and objective can hurt all – just as the hype about Fred enabled the Maverick. Mrs. Palin is an attractive American, a good Republican, but is human and is truly a Politician.
Last weekend, for example, when asked by Mr. Wallace (with some very overt Democratic Partisan talking points), Sarah Palin flopped in responding to some of the most simple, stereotypical questions. She bizarrely ended up looking down at a prepared letter with figures on the amounts of the Bush Tax cuts, failing to answer an easy question with proper context. In fact, she turned to making another poor joke about looking at her hand. Even a youthful Conservative would have answered by reminding all that ‘tax cuts grow the economy, which in turn grows revenue’. She even failed to confront the canard about the Clinton Tax Increases, and should have challenged the suggestion they did not hurt the USA.
I am sorry, as much as I want to join the fanfare, for I like Mrs. Palin and her family, I know she is not the next Reagan – at least not yet. Maybe someday, but there are some sincere warning signs, which suggests the HYPE is far too overt, and will again produce a massive let down, just as the McCain – Palin Campaign failed in massive fashion.
It is always best to keep one’s feet on the ground, never to over inflate a Living Politician. Celebrity Popularity is never something to base anything upon, as it is often without substance.
Mrs. Palin can grow, but it is hard to see what position she could take, which would help her grow.

Brooklyn
Give it a rest, would you? We all realize you don’t like Sarah. You don’t have to tell us over and over again. Really. You are getting obsessive about her. Almost as an internet stalker. One wonders if you hate her as the last thought when you go to bed at night and first thing when you wake up in the morning and all through the day after that. It seems you think of nothing else and you are annoying as hell. We get that you think Romney is super wonderful. Hardly anybody agrees with that but we don’t trash Romney on every thread. Could you possibly tone it down some? And has it ever occurred to you that it is rude to keep harping on someone we all like when we ask you to stop?
Radegunda commented:
Brooklyn, if that’s your idea of “intimidation,” you need to grow a pair.
I’m not going to say that Palin has a presidential demeanor; I don’t really think she’s presidential material.
But she did remain commendably unruffled and good-natured toward someone being overtly hostile to her. She’s obviously a better human being than her detractors. And that’s probably what really gets your goat.
Bob commented:
What was Palin doing there? Just driving?
I hope the Gov of Indiana Mitch Daniels runs.
wanumba commented:
Every time some pompous ignorant woman announces she’s a teacher, yeah, I freeze, too. When I grew up, we had women teachers who were competent in their subjects and were interested in every student – interested to want to help make them understand their subjects.
This crop doesn’t deserve the name “teacher.” They are “facilitators,” which means drinking sodas, and snacking in front of students all day long, just to be present in the classroom to snarl, “Go look it up yourelf’ to any kid who asks a question.
UNION. UNION. All about UNION, not the kids.
Neo commented:
The Palin encounter with the (alleged) “teacher” reminds me that while Palin has encountered the “Great Unwashed” on almost a daily basis, our idiot President hasn’t had an encounter with an unscreened average American since that unfortunate episode with “Joe the Plumber”.
Lee commented:
I began touting Sarah even before she got the VP nomination, and I’ve been taking flak from family and friends for supporting her since.
But, I saw the clip. Her reaction (eye roll and the look at the companion) was natural, as if done without thought. It was dismissive and knowing. A “We all know what teachers are like” reaction. Her explanation doesn’t hold water. An honest apology would be better at this point. Otherwise, she comes across as dishonest, and just like other politicians.
Angie commented:
I laughed when the article said “Popular conservative Sarah Palin confronted an unhinged leftist in Homer, Alaska who hates her… But wants her as governor. Go figure.”
The protester wanted her to act like a governor and complete her term. Maybe she voter for her. I don’t know. You can vote for someone and then become unhappy with how they are running things. When someone is that position you want them to do their job. Not fall out half way.
