Figures. Robert Gibbs Lies About Obama's Position on the Iraq Surge (Video)

Today White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told Gretchen Carlson on FOX and Friends this about the successful Bush Surge that Obama and democrats opposed:
Carlson: “Excuse me. Back in 2007 he said he was against the surge.”
Gibbs: “No. He said he was against the surge. He said there was no doubt that adding 20,000 men and women would improve the security situation. But, as we know, our efforts in Iraq weren’t going to be done simply militarily, Gretchen. There had to be a political accomodation.”

Of course, this was not true at all.
Back in 2007 Barack Obama actually said that the surge would make things worse:
Obama in 2007: “I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian viiolence there. In fact, it will do the reverse….”
Barack Obama is not expected to credit the surge tonight for the success in Iraq.
He is shameless.

bg, what you say is true. He does make a concerted effort to disappear things. However, there are always people like you and me who keep copies of things that might be important. (If you use Firefox I highly recommend Screengrab! which will take a shot of the entire page, including the part you cannot see)
Notice that video of the “Because of Obama” Hitler Youth or the Obama Choir out in California. They’ve gone to great lengths to try to get rid of those but they just keep coming back.
Or look at the pictures of the arena where the Dems held their 08 convention. If you remember seeing the outside of the arena, it was surrounded by white banners, showing blue stylistic mountains with a great big red star shining over them. In political symbolism, a red star is the symbol of the Internation Comintern. It has graced the uniform of the USSR, the East Germans and still the Chinese today. (Probably the Norks too). I almost fainted when I ever saw that! Nothing could more clearly announce the intentions of that convention to the world community than that red star. It took me a powerful lot of looking over months, but you bet your bippy I have copies – and they are not all the same picture.

Big deal. So President Obama made one little mistake in judgement, and now everyone wants to make a big deal out of it. In the larger scheme of things, instability in Iraq would never have an effect of America.

There is no avoiding this any longer — at least not if you want to remain credible to good folks (and I’m not using this term in the ridiculously all-encompassing way squishy “conservatives” do) that are carefully considering matters.
The people we are fighting, in order to hold on to some semblance of the America we’ve known, are simply BAD individuals. This is not to say that the left, collectively, is as evil as the Nazis….(although with some of them you can certainly make the argument, and I would); but it is foolish to argue, any longer, that they simply have a different plan for America. Their staggering deceit gives them away.
As I’ve said before, if God is truth, than He doesn’t stand with the left.

If I recall correctly, doing a search re: Students for a Democratic Movement will lead to an index of photos of that organization’s meetings.
