You know it’s an off year when their bloggers and staffers start chucking the Molotov cocktails.
Don’t expect this to get too much play in the state-run media.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch finally decided to investigate this firebombing at Congressman Russ Carnahan’s office. They discovered that the suspect, a Carnahan staffer, threw a Molotov cocktail into Carnahan’s office to start the fire.

When Leftie Bloggers Attack…

Dem operative, Russ Carnahan staffer, TPM blogger and suspected firebomber Chris Powers is the sweaty one pictured here on right during a rally for nationalized health care. Powers reportedly is was a disgruntled canvasser for Russ Carnahan. Last week he chucked a Molotov cocktail into his office at 2 AM in the morning.

The P-D reported:

The fire at U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan’s campaign office was caused by a Molotov cocktail, according to a police report.

The booking info for the ex-campaign worker suspected in the attack was released by the Police Department on Thursday, after an open records request from the Post-Dispatch.

The newspaper is not divulging the man’s name because he has not been formally charged.

A conservative blog, however, did release the man’s name earlier in the week, prompting Carnahan to call a news conference Wednesday confirming the man identified by the blog had worked as a canvasser for his campaign, but was later fired.

According to the police report, the man, 50 years old, was arrested on suspicion of arson, a felony, and unlawful possession of an explosive device, also a felony.

His occupation is listed as “campaign worker” and employer as “Russ Carnahan.”

The report says the man was suspected of throwing a “Molotov incendiary device through the rear of business.” The firebomb was launched through a back window of Carnahan’s campaign office on Chippewa Street.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one room — a back office where the campaign runs its finance operations. The man was arrested Aug. 17, hours after the pre-dawn blaze, and was released the next day after the circuit attorney’s office declined to issue charges immediately.

Notice how they skipped the name of this blog in their report?
Figures.

Dan Riehl has more: “You know, if TPM bloggers keep playing with Molotov cocktails, Eric Boehlert and Media Mutters might get vwery upset with them. We can assume that the St Louis Dispatch filed their open records request thanks to the blogger they failed to name.”

  1. “Raging Democratic Staffers Now Throwing Molotov Cocktails at Congressional Offices”

Unfortunately, Mister Hoff, Chuck Johnson has posted a refutation. He has discovered that the Carnahan staffer has a love of jellybeans, thus offering substantial proof that the man is a Reaganite conservative.

  2. In each case, from the muslim who burned down his own mosque in GA, to the Times Square bomb attempt, to Mr. Sweaty firebomber (above), libs have attempted to place blame on conservatives for the violence. They have been wrong every time.

  3. One again, why did Mr. Powers list Russ Carnahan as his employer in the Police Report, if as Russ claims, he had actually been fired before the act? That does not make sense to me. Why would Mr. Powers just not say he was unemployed if that was indeed the fact? Either Russ is not telling the truth, or Mr. Powers lied to the police. Perhaps a minor detail, but certainly adds to the stench factor…..

  4. Does your site have more hits than the Post-Dispatch’s yet? I don’t go there anymore. I’m tired of their lies and cover-ups.

  5. Libtards just dismiss this conduct.
Libtard GOOOOOOD. Normal patriotic taxpaying God fearing Conservative BAD.

Just ask Katie Couric. Good people love Margaret Sanger, Bad people like America.

  6. Don’t forget Ex-CZAR Van Jones said this was to be the summer of anarchy, threats against Tea Party members and those who blog on the rise, intimidation for those at the Lincoln Memorial tomorrow, 10,000 voting machines burned, leftest kook cuts Muslim taxi driver’s throat, media blames Tea Party, and this leftest dork firebombs his own office. Getting caught so quick screwed the pooch on this going really viral as an act of the Tea Party. Cannot imagine the the order of violence that will ensue if the left decides to follow Ed Schultz rant on violence against the Right.

  8. It’s wrong to stereotype, unless it’s conservatives. Then it’s OK even if there are 0 examples.

  9. If the suspect was associated with Republicans or the Tea Party would the the Post Disgrace have withheld the name?

  10. Libs just cant do anything right.

  11. The motolov that pretty much burned down the governor’s mansion in Austin, Texas… whatever happened with that?

  12. I wouldn’t worry too much about the Post-Dispatch not mentioning your blog. You scooped them on this story, and since more people probably read your blog than read that paper, they don’t want to drive more traffic your way.

  13. Since the Post-Disgrace won’t give credit where credit is due, I think the Gateway Pundit’s readers need to overwhelm the comment section of the stltoday.com articles on this matter with references to Jim and this website.

  14. A “Molotov Device” used to bomb a Socialist office. Ain’t irony a bitch?

  15. I still believe there is more to this story. Why in the world would there be no charges, yet?

    1. There is something they wanted to burn
    2. Why not make it look like the Tea Party did it.
    3. They hired an incompetent to do it. Judging from the picture of the damage, this guy found a way to foul up a molotov cocktail — the easiest bomb in the world.
    4. This incompetent oaf is a true-believer in the Carnahans as can be seen in the videos from last year’s pseudo-town hall.

  16. MOLOTOV COCKTAILS ARE NOT THE ANSWER.
