The BBC posted this photo of the massive Restoring Honor rally yesterday in Washington DC.
Barack Obama told reporters that he ignored the Restoring Honor rally yesterday. He was out golfing.
MSNBC reported:
President Obama chuckles when Brian Williams asks him about polls that show may Americans still believe he is a Muslim. He says he doesn’t pay much attention to those polls, because “I can’t spend all my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead.”
“I don’t think the American people want me to spend all my time on it,” he says.
Obama is clearly intent on casting himself as above the political fray, saying American politics is in its “silly season.” For example, he swears he didn’t watch any of Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally on the National Mall yesterday and says he doesn’t find it surprising that “a Glenn Beck can stir up some of the people.”
“I’m making decisions that are not necessarily good for the nightly news and not good for the next election, but for the next generations,” he says.
Right.
He’s making decisions that are good for the next generation.
…Like bankrupting the nation.
Obama’s trillion dollar stimulus package failed.
Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi tripled the national deficit last year by nearly a trillion dollars – something unheard of in our nation’s history.
After an unheard of record deficit last year of $1.4 Trillion the economy is on track to experience a $1.3 Trillion deficit this year.
The next generation will love that.

Where did you get that number from? The deficit under Bush wasn’t even remotely there. Check the numbers.
And the hole isn’t only from the really dumb “stimulus bill” that the Democrats approved.
Also “historian”, you call yourself historian but don’t really know how the Us political system works? Who pushed the first stimulus bill?

The POTUS can’t simply spend money like that. Such things have to go through the Hill. And the majority on the hill, during the stimulus bill, had who (and still has)?
The Democrats. They had to approve of it. They could have said “no”, but they chose to support it. And they’re still spending like crazy.

Bush’s 500 billion hole is nothing compared to what Germany is building up WITHOUT a war.
Unofficial national debt of Germany is 6.2 trillion Euros. Officially it’s “only” 1.7 trillion, but that’s the heavily doctored result.
And why is it there?
Because Germany has been doing the Obama Way for 40 years.
If the US would do the Obama Way for 40 years, you’d be at 60 trillion.
PS: Germany has only ~90 million inhabitants.

Historian, you betray your youth and naiveté. Structural deficits have been built into the federal budget over decades, and both parties have had a hand. However, it blatantly untrue to blame republicans for that. Democrat presidents have driven much of that spending agenda, and mostly democrat congresses have forced the republicans to accede to a further pro-spending agenda than they otherwise ever would have considered.
All the pols are only in business for themselves, but there is no rational way you can lay the monstrous deficits (and debt) at the feet of any – or all – republicans.

Odd that he’d bring up his birth cerficate when asked what he thinks about the 18% of Americans polled who believe he’s a Muslim. Could it be that his ineligibility to serve as POTUS is on his mind? And that it stays on his mind so much that he feels it’s “plastered” there? I do believe his response was supplied by his subconscious mind rather than his conscious mind.
