As Michelle Returns From Spanish Extravaganza Obama Cuts Food Stamps to Nation's Poor

As Michelle Obama returned home from her royal excursion to Spain which cost taxpayers $400,000, Barack Obama cut food stamps to the nation’s poor.

After all, he had to bailout unions so they could run ads against the GOP this fall.
The Examiner reported, via Free Republic:
Just as Michelle Obama returned from her much-criticized luxury vacation to Spain, which cost the U.S. taxpayers an estimated $400,000, her husband cut $11.9 billion from the Food Stamp program, designed to help the poorest Americans.
The cut, along with tax increases to businesses is supposed to pay for an aid package to several states, mostly to prevent the layoff of about 160,000 public school teachers and administrators.
Of course, the teachers’ unions are tremendous contributors to the Democratic Party, and were instrumental in putting Obama in office. The move is seen by many as a payback for their support.
What is so hypocritical is the fact that Obama made the cut in the Food Stamps program, while he expects the taxpayers to pick up the bill for the First Lady’s trip to Spain.
By the way, $400,000 would buy a lot of food stamps.

And as long as these economic policies continue, as long as this regime that has taken control of DC continues down the path they are on, there is nowhere for this number to go but up – right straight through the roof. In the meantime, just in case you haven’t noticed lately, grocery prices are going up and the cans are getting smaller.
Meanwhile, that Food Stamp program – the one they are now very carefully giving the correct title to, the title that starts with “Supplemental” – that “supplemental” business went out in the 80′s when people stopped having to buy their food stamps. And the diet that “supplemental” food program allows? Its based on the diet given to the inmates of Dachau Concentration Camp. When the Food Stamp program was under consideration in the early 60s the then Surgeon General of the US testified before Congress that no adult should depend on this diet for more than a few months and no child should ever be fed this diet for a single day. (See Hunger in America, done in the 70s by Harvard School of Public Health.)
And isn’t it Obama himself who appears in that ad talking about more people being dependent on food banks “even as the food banks themselves are running out of food”? Oh – my bad. That was just a campaign speech!

So, either they lied about paying for this latest (of countless) transfers of public wealth to the public sector unions that now own the democratic party, or we know that, in the ordinal ranking of the democratic party, the starving rank lower than overpaid public sector workers (who, according to the latest analysis, earn twice what the sucker taxpayers in the private sector do, for comparable work).
The democratic party, after being taken over by radicals in the 1990s, has become a corrupt organization, leavened with huge amounts of stunning incompetence.

What matters here is spending. The tax rate is the spending rate. Whether it’s for presidential vacations or payoffs for the union/welfare crowd every cent they spend is a dollar that will eventually be squeezed from productive Americans.
Co-opting their rhetoric might be fun, but there’s a much larger moral argument to be made: every cent they spend above the minimum needed to operate a constitutional republic is THEFT. If a foreign invader did it, we’d say they were looting.

That is correct. They are setting things up so that when (not if) Republicans are in the majority they will have more problems on their hands than anyone can envision right now. Everything is being pushed back so that it balloons right before 2012… and they will blame everything on the party in power. Obama doesn’t care whether or not he loses Congress. He wants to set things up so that he will be hailed as the only one who can save the country when (if) Congress fails to turn things around fast enough for the electorate — and will sail into office again.
