The controversial imam behind the Ground Zero Mosque says that America is worse than Al-Qaeda.
Jason Mattera at Human Events reported:
New audio has surfaced of the imam behind the controversial mosque near Ground Zero allegedly telling an audience overseas that the United States has been far more deadly than al-Qaeda. “We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaeda has on its hands of innocent non Muslims,” Feisal Abdul Rauf said at a 2005 lecture sponsored by the University of South Australia. After discussing the U.S.-led sanctions against Iraq under Saddam Hussein, Rauf went on to argue that America is to blame for its testy relationship with Islamic countries.
“What complicates the discussion, intra-Islamically, is the fact that the West has not been cognizant and has not addressed the issues of its own contribution to much injustice in the Arab and Muslim world.” The audio was uncovered by blogger Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs.
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf:
“We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al Qaida has on its hands of innocent non Muslims. You may remember that the US-led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This has been documented by the United Nations. And when Madeleine Albright, who has become a friend of mine over the last couple of years, when she was Secretary of State and was asked whether this was worth it, said it was worth it.
He sounds like your typical leftist, blaming America for Saddam Hussein’s actions that caused the sanctions.

the left is going to hate this find. Maybe Imam Barak Hoover Obama can use it as a campaign ad. powder is dry.

Barak doesn’t care, he probably would have said the same thing if he could.

Come on, Imam. Regurgitating Democrat talking points is not very original.
Rauffy baby, tell me about Muslim blood on Muslim’s hands.

Not that anything this crackpot says matters, but I think he forgot the hundreds of thousands of mooselimbs al Qaida has massacred.

One fact that seems to be ignored in the debate over the Ground Zero Mosque is that we already made an enormous consession when the Port Authority changed the name from Freedom Tower to One World Trade Center. It is Islams turn to respect Americans feelings and move the damn thing somewhere else.
BH commented:
Wow. Rauf made several statements of fact. How dare he!

So, we’re worse than al Qaida and we’re bigots and racists…..why would you want to build a hamosque here?

Did the Burlington Coat Factory go out of business right after 9/11? If its last full day of business was 9/10, then wouldn’t the site be on ground zero?
Just wondering.

And what, pray tell is the best possible way to present the “Freedom Tower”, er, OneWTC?
By ensuring nothing visible from the sidewalk reminds passersby of the horrific act of war committed by Islam on 9/11/2001. You see the 9/11 memorial at Ground Zero is subterranean, buried 70 feet below grade. Can’t have anyone link Islam with terror, destruction & triumphalism . So the victims and memories of 9/11 are dead and buried. [NYT Miserable B*ch Maureen Dowd: Those Opposed to GZM are “Americans Who Haven’t Flushed the Trauma of 9/11 out of Their Systems”…] Out of sight, out of mind. Wouldn’t want to upset regulars in the neighborhood (Park51/Cordoba Initiative/wink wink), now would we?
Now, it’s bad enough that Bloomberg and company bulldoze opposition at lightening speed, but it’s totally understandable since Bloomberg LLC expanding is its financial center to a regional hub in Dubai
Interestingly, Bin Laden/Al Qaeda Funding Ground Zero Mosque Imam Rauf while FoxNews recently revealed Company Bidding to Help Manage Ground Zero Tower Has Arab Ties. In essence, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are selling ‘management’ authority over the WTC re-development to Arab interests. How’s that work towards reconciliation and bridge building?
Well, continuing with imposition of sharia standards:
1. In recent negotiations, the Port Authority NYNJ cut the size of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, the only church destroyed in this act of war cut it’s size slightly and told church officials that its dome could not rise higher than the trade center memorial. Now it all makes sense. If the memorial is 70 feet below grade, how can the church dome not exceed it? So of course, the PANYNJ have decided to not permit this church to rebuild at all.
But a thirteen-story mega-mosque dedicated on the tenth anniversary of this act of war? Fine!

The West used sanctions as a way to combat dictatorship. There are better ways, but those ways make people like him cry “warmonger!”, “Imperialists!”.
Dennis commented:
Oh, and isn’t it great how even though HE opposed the war that ended the sanctions, he’s making the country which led the invasion that stopped the sanctions answer for that death? If his crowd had their way in 2003, the sanctions would still be going on.

Right.
According to the same BS sources, total civilian casualities from the U.N. sanctions were about 1.5 million.
And, according to Iraq Body Count, total civilian casualities for the Iraq War were about 106,000.
Do the math: 1.5 millions deaths over 151 months or 9,933 per month vs 106,000 deaths over 89 months or 1,191 per month.
By invading Iraq and overthrowing Saddam Hussein and ending the U.N. sanctions, the U.S. reduced the monthly civilian body count by nearly a factor of 10. The war saved about 800,000 lives.
You’re welcome, f***ers >:(

I have noticed that the media is doing the Alinsky tactic on her, pick a target, freeze it, isolate it, and destroy it.

I listened to the video. I just did not see the radical or hate some people saw. I see a man answering a question. He said the deaths were based on UN Data. He pointing out these deaths matter to some Muslims, and people in the West do not seem to care. He is partly correct. Most of the people posting here do not care about those lives.
