Enjoy a Fruiti Pop… Get typhoid fever.

A Santa Fe Springs company has recalled its frozen fruit bars because of a possible link to typhoid fever.
Breitbart reported:
Fruiti Pops Inc. of Santa Fe Springs, California has recalled its mamey (mah-MAY’) frozen fruit bars because of a possible link to a rare U.S. outbreak of typhoid fever.
The company said Thursday that the fruit bars were distributed in California, Arizona and Texas since May 2009.
Fruiti Pops says retail stores, ice cream trucks and vending machines sold the frozen fruit bars, which have the UPC number 763734000097.
The company says the frozen fruit bars were made from contaminated mamey pulp that Goya Foods Inc. voluntarily recalled on August 12, after it was linked to a typhoid fever outbreak in California and Nevada. So far no illnesses have been reported from the mamey fruit bars.

Yes, typhoid.
You know, the really nasty bug from ‘back in the day’.
Typhoid….. T Y P H O I D.
In America.
It’s 2010.
Just in case you didn’t instantly see through the veil of it all……… Any link to typhoid is about a 99.99% surety to be on a straight line to the people working in the plant making the frozen treats (nah, not one of ‘em will be a “displaced traveler” or worse, a Moose Limb who wants to destroy our nation) AND/OR the folks in the growing fields from planting to care to harvest and transport (why do I have a sneaking suspicion that the farms are in Mexico and ‘not exactly’ secure or clean).
Obviously none of that will get reported unless the main media has zero choice……. but at that point, they’ll ignore the entire story until it becomes (‘out of nowhere’) a crisis too good to waste.
Of course my next totally intemperate thought was: How long before the obvious garbage comes out ?…………… It’s a tea party plot !……….. Typical bitter God-clinging gun owners want to kill all Hispanics by poisoning their food !
Gee, seems as if I took an extra dose of cynicism with my vitamins today.
Oh, by the way….. That half-a-billion egg recall ? It’s about to get bigger. Yeah, really. It is.
Another ‘by the way’…… Cass Sunstein has sent a nudge to The EPA and they’re about to move on banning all ammunition with lead content at any level. Really.
Pay attention to the big picture folks…… Very few of us are and we’re still being called crazy.

Expect lots of horrible diseases to come to America now that we’ve opened the front gate, the back gate, all the windows and even the dog door to the 3rd world. Combine that with the environ-mentalists banning every effective pesticide we have so don’t be surprised when we get widespread cases of malaria here once again. The blood of all the innocent people that die as a result will be on their hands – except that nobody will acknowledge it when it happens because the left controls the information narrative in the Western world.

Typhoid shot is good for two years, OR the oral pill dosage: annoying abdominal gas pains for four days is good for um … three years.
Typhoid transmission thru contaminated water usually. The fruit bar company not use pasteurized product?

Officials said that they did not expect the egg recall to expand to other farms, but that more illnesses are likely to be reported and smaller recalls for additional brands may be announced.
Read that sentence as…………. “We’re teh gubmint and we know for sure that there may be a need to add to the recall on such a massive scale that we’ll probably take down the entire egg industry (therefore all food production and drug companies) just because we can and that would greatly help the administration institute totalitarian control over the entire nation, because they know what’s best for everyone.”

I know Goya is big into Mexican-type foods, but is the company or its operations actually located in Mexico? Just curious.
Granny commented:
Gorgo, it is my understanding that the mamey pulp used in these bars was canned outside of the US – Ecuador as I recall. At least that is the official story.
Here is some basic information on typhoid fever from the CDC
This one is more detailed
Please do note that neither article mentions canned food as a source of transmission of the bacteria that causes typhus. That bacteria is Clostridium botulinum, which results in botulism – a totally different disease.
As is common with news stories about medical science, the most pertinent fact has been left out here. This was frozen mamey pulp.
Here’s the recall notice

A- Santa Fe Springs, California is a toilet, and I would never even eat anything produced between the refinery and those rat-infested scrapyards
B- NEVER LET A GOOD CRISIS GO TO WASTE!
Quick, send in the NG and nationalize the fruity-pop industry, they were the most shameless type of cheery capitalist anyway, with those bright-colored boxes and all… time for them to feel the heft of the Obammunist jackboot!
Granny commented:
Reaganite, nationalizing – or at least controlling down to the last iota & jot – IS what the egg recall is all about. Eggs have been contaminated with salmonella for decades. This is nothing new in the least. Note the push to force all egg producers to pastuerize the eggs they sell though. New equipment, much more handling – that should multiply the cost of eggs by a factor of 10 or so.
And that is not to mention the new regulations that NOAA has instituted out of the blue on the fishing industry, with the express intent of literally putting it out of business. Twenty or so New England fishermen did take prime time from their limited season to go picket at Martha’s Vineyard yesterday, but I’m sure TheWon did not care if he even bothered to notice.
Galt commented:
The same federal government that can’t keep typhoid-pops out of supermarket freezers is going to eliminate toxic assets from financial markets.
And to many American voters, this makes perfect sense — because obviously we need more laws.

I saw the guy that started this company on FOX news. It was a show about how people are reinventing themselves and not depending on handouts or the government. Apparently he was laid off from AIG. He didn’t whine or cry or give up. He went to work and from all accounts was doing quite well until this. You don’t think anyone would sabotage his business because….. No, No that doesn’t happen in America.

Goya Foods, Inc. Announces Voluntary Recall of Frozen Mamey Pulp, Produced By Coco, S.A. of Guatemala Because of Potential Health Risk

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 13, 2010 – As a precautionary measure Goya Foods, Inc. has voluntarily recalled the Mamey Pulp product produced by COCO, S.A. of Guatemala. This product is distributed nationwide through retail stores under the Goya label.
The product comes in a 14 ounce plastic package. All production lot codes are being recalled. The UPC is 041331090803.
The Frozen Mamey Pulp is being recalled due to a potential health risk from Salmonella. Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
Consumers who have purchased Goya brand Mamey Pulp are urged to discard the product and contact Goya Foods, Inc.’s Consumer Affairs Department. Consumers with questions may contact the company Monday through Friday between the hours of 8AM to 5PM, Eastern Daylight Time at 1-800-275-4692.
Goya Foods, Inc. is coordinating closely with the supplier and regulatory officials.

All of these food recalls with the Salmonilla and now this TYPHOID have been terrorist threats from the beginning.
After 9/11 we heard how they wanted to target the food supply. Then since the first outbreak forward – was it guacamole (sp?) or spinach – we haven’t heard a WORD about the moose slums targeting the food supply.
hmmmm… and the govt. wants to stop small producers – mom and pop producers – who sell DIRECTLY to consumers. WHY???? I mean – I raise a few hogs and beef – sell DIRECTLY to consumers but they want to put me out of business. I can tell you – I know EXACTLY what goes into my hogs and beef – and I have satisfied customers.
Govt. IS the problem.

Was watching the show “Monsters Inside Me” the other night. A group of about 20 anesthesiologists in Southern CA all became severelly ill from an unknown source. Turns out, they had all attended a banquet the week before, and had picked up a parasite from eating a raspberry dessert with imported raspberries from Guatamala. Apparently rainy weather often leads to agricultural fields being inundated with sewage-contaminated runoff water in parts of Latin America. (Usually in May, if I recall)
Watch out for any imported fruits and vegetables from that part of the world!

Accidental?
Landru commented:
They are from Guatemala. Exposed to water contaminated with sewage.
“Both companies, which have voluntarily recalled the product, get their mamey fruit from a common supplier in Guatemala, the FDA said.
An investigation by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed a link between an ongoing attack of Salmonella typhi infections and the frozen mamey fruit pulp products. Typhoid fever, which can be fatal, is caused by Salmonella typhi.”

The M-855A1 (ie, “green” ammo) IS WORTHLESS!!
It won’t do the job at all.
I don’t know if it’s all going back to be declared surplus – but the troops don’t want it.
If anyone gets a chance to buy any on the surplus market — PASS!!
