71.1% of Missouri residents rejected O-Care on Tuesday:

On Wednesday Liberal Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) lectured Missouri about their misguided vote saying…
“People “don’t realize” how beneficial the “mandate” for health care will be.”

Via Real Clear Politics:

“I certainly noticed the vote on Prop C, the healthcare law, and message received,” Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) said.

McCaskill, however, makes the point that people “don’t realize” how beneficial the “mandate” for health care will be. “A lot of noise about the mandate that people have gotten so focused on that they don’t realize that there’s going to be more access and affordability and more choices,” she said.

Maybe you didn’t hear us Claire…
WE DON’T WANT IT!

    dear Claire..

if that truly is the case, then why weren’t “we the people” allowed access
& time to READ THE BILL before the Dems shoved it down our throats,
i mean, passed it & Obama signed it??

    Barack Hussein Obama, mmmmm, mmmmm,mmmm

  7. Does it matter…a judge will just overturn anything they do.

  8. when is she up for re-election?

  9. Gee. Arrogant much?

  10. She’s fuch a fraud, pretending like it’s a surprise Missourians opposed it.

A poll came out a few days before the Christmas Eve vote indicating only 38% of Missourians supported it, and 58% opposed it. She gave Missouri voters the middle finger and voted for it anyway.

What an arrogant, elitist, pompous azz.

  11. Beneficial to WHOM, you lying sack of night soil?

SEIU, who will “organize” all the new government healthcare workers, and politicians like you they will funnel campaign money to?

Doesn’t look to me that I will benefit from this horror at all.

  12. You have to admire the sacrifice of congress to abstain from joining this wonderful gift to the people…

  13. Ignore, lie, squirm, misdirect, accuse, blame, and keep heading for that cliff Claire. Not to worry, that last step will not hurt one bit, but lord the stop at the bottom sucks big time.

  14. I love Missouri!! Thank you, Show Me State! “If that doesn’t beat all get out” as my Missouri-born grandmother used to say.

  15. I am glad that she is standing by who she is; it is easier to identify foes if they are honest.

  16. Claire McCaskill: Message received. Now go pound sand ’cause nothing’s gonna change.

  17. If it is so damned “beneficial” Claire, why the HELL did you and your fellow comrades exempt every single member of Congress? If it ain’t good enough for YOU then it isn’t good enough for ME either.

And BTW, you ignoramus, health CARE is not health insurance!

  18. American Freedom is being confiscated right before our very eyes…

  19. Claire. I don’t give a flying…..how beneficial this is. It’s the principle. You can’t force me to buy a product or fine me for not doing so.

  20. The US Government paid $50 billion to support the VOLT automobile, coming soon from General Motors (a subsidiary of the US Government).

The car will sell for $41K – the same car body with a regular gasoline engine sells for $17K.

The car runs 40 minutes on an electric charge and if you don’t have a $2K charging station it takes about 8 hours to recharge (you pay for the electricity).

    *****

This same government wants to manage your healthcare. Apparently people in Missouri connected the dots too.

  21. Yep, I had a couple liberal facebook friends condemn their fellow Missourians as stupid and selfish. Don’t agree with a Liberal -you’re stupid and need “educated”.

  24. This runs parallel to what I said the night this prop won by over 70%. Gibbs says it’s nothing. Claire sees it as an opportunity to correct our errors and guide us back to the proper path of Obamacare. The Journ-O-Lists completely ignore it so they can fall over themselves slobbering for gay rights in California.
These scum have to be sent packing in November. And so do ANY Republicans who get in the way.

  25. Post #6 is dead-on.

Claire, tell us why YOU are exempt from Obamacare and WE are not.

    We’re waiting.

  26. Claire, come January you will be able to enjoy the government pension your ilk voted for. You have my permission to enjoy it for the rest of your life. That is, of course, unless I and my fellow patriots decide you have not earned it and we arbitrarily take it away. If that is reprehensible to you maybe you will now be able to understand how we feel about the arbitrary enactment of health care “reform” by you and your party!

  27. I want to thank the people of MO for not falling for the democ-rats lies.

    A separate and unequal exercise
    By Harry Lewis
    March 25, 2008
PERHAPS it is simple politeness for Harvard University to close its secondary gym to men for six hours a week so conservative Muslim women can exercise without men seeing their skin.

Religious accommodations are usually uncontroversial, but this is different. Everyone can enjoy Harvard’s kosher food; half the students are excluded from the gym, however briefly.
Surely only those with the most mean-spirited interpretation of gender equality could object – yet complain they did.
“Today I was forced to wait outside in the cold until 5,” wrote one man. “The policy seems sexist and discriminatory.”
“These hours have been put in place for equality reasons,” read Harvard’s

    skip
The new stance seems generous and tolerant: Be nice to people, even if it means excluding others, as long as the benefit is significant and the injury is minor.
Which brings us to ROTC. Harvard bans ROTC because the military violates the “sexual orientation” part of Harvard’s nondiscrimination policy. Harvard students can participate in ROTC at MIT, but Harvard will not provide them meeting space or any other support – even bus fare down Massachusetts Avenue.
If there were ever a special case, this is it. ROTC’s discriminatory policy is US law. Until Congress repeals that law, Harvard should accommodate ROTC anyway, in the interests of the nation and of Harvard students wishing to serve it.
The counterargument goes, however, that if ROTC were accommodated, the benefit to cadets would be far less significant than the injury to gays and lesbians. Indeed, some claim that no price would be too high for Harvard to pay for uncompromising adherence to its nondiscrimination policy, even the loss of all government funding, if it came to that.
Is the gym exception merely a reasonable kindness to conservative Muslim women? Then Harvard’s failure of courtesy to its cadets suggests that politics determine what forms of discrimination are inoffensive.

  28. I try never to make a comment about the personal appearance of politicians, but good ol’ Claire looks much better in her Joker make-up.
    Just my humble opinion.

  29. “People “don’t realize” how beneficial the “mandate” for health care will be.” Sounds like at least 71.1 percent understood it.

  30. Their mandate can also be used to solve other humanitarian problems. Take world hunger for example. If you mandate that everybody purchase $2000 of food per month from Obama, and you collect those food fees via the IRS, then everybody is fed right? World Hunger—solved. Send Obama your money, and then stand in line at the local Federal food warehouse and pick up your soup and bread.

  31. “People “don’t realize” how beneficial the “mandate” for health care will be.”

so does that mean she read the bill?

  32. Claire, why don’t you schedule Obowma to tour your uneducated state giving healthcare speeches every other day or so.

Wait…that’s what happened last year. Hmmm.

Why don’t the people want to eat dog food. So hard to understand. Of course the lawmakers don’t have to eat the dog food themselves, but the “people” should LOVE it.

  33. Claire, your personal salvation does not depend on the collective salvation of Misssourians. We are not going to give up everything we have worked for so that you can be saved. So stop trying to force this progressive agenda down our throats!

  34. Claire bamboozled Missourians and went to DC, where she has only gotten fatter and uglier.

  39. Kinda hope Purgason will run again in 2012. Claire is just keeping the seat warm for him.

  40. Claire forgets she works for us so called dummies who don’t know what’s good for us. She also forgot we will be voting her out in 2 years. Let’s make sure we get a good Conservative to run against her, and make sure Acorn doesn’t have too many Mickey Mouse’s vote.

  43. Squeaky, Foodstamps are not just up 21% over 2009. The Christian Science Monitor is doing their darndest to minimize a catastrophe. Food Stamps are the highest they have ever been in the entire history of the program.

And for those of you who do not know, lots of those who collect unemployment make too much money to collect foodstamps unless they have kids. This isn’t reflecting the increase in unemployment as in the ones collecting benefits, the one that 9.5% unemployment figure covers. These are the folks who have run out of unemployment and most other resources.

  44. people “don’t realize” how beneficial the “mandate” for health care will be

Oh, Wow. She read the bill? All 2000-plus pages? Is that how she knows this?

  45. BTW, Kagan was confirmed. Vote was about 2:1.

  46. Once again I’ll point out that McCasketts husband has made millions on the nursing home “business”; my point (omitted by her) is that the quicker they die under Obamacare, the faster her purse bulges…what a SKANK..

  47. Does a senator receive retirement medical benefits if only one term is served?

I think it would be great if Claire ends up with the unwashed masses come Jan. 2013.

  48. Ok Claire maybe if the vote had been 55/45 or even 60/40 you could claim the health care supporters didn’t get their message out. But when the vote is 71/29?

In fact I’d be more concerned about those 29%. Quite clearly these deadenders would be for it regardless of what’s in it.

  49. Let’s do the math. About 1,300,000 (about 900,000 Republicans and about 400,000 Democrats) voted. If all the negative votes were cast by Democrats (very unlikely), that still leaves over 90,000 Democrats who had to have voted for Prop C, probably many more. This is not a Gallup or Rasmusen Poll of 10,000. If The MO vote is indicative of national voters’ feelings, there will be a tsunami coming in November that will have been unparalleled in U.S. history.

  65. bg, from your second link I noticed that Piven was/is an honorary chairman of Democratic Socialists of America – which is very close to an accurate translation of the name of the Nazi party in some areas of Europe.

Also, yesterday I happened across this article from 1941 Harper’s magazine. You’ll find a reprint and photocopies of the original here -
    http://harpers.org/archive/1941/08/0020122

The whole thing is well worth a read, but one of the most interesting bits is this one little sentence – remember, this is from 1941, before Pearl Harbor:

QUOTE James has been butler to the ‘ighest aristocracy, considers all Nazis parvenus and communists ENDQUOTE

There are several other references to communism & communists in the essay. So, even back then it was clear that communism and the Nazis were essentially one and the same. And Harper’s was not exactly the most conservative mag around.

  66. Squeaky, I’ve been seeing rumours of that Hail Mary Pass August Surprise. I think The Won intends to win over the millions who owe more than their property is worth, but I have to tell you, this adds up to so much money that I am not at all sure that he can do this without Congress – and maybe not with them. Fannie and Freddie are at least ostensibly private and we’re talking billions of dollars. Not to mention that every community in the country will be screaming about their tax base. And further, the Constitution requires that all citizens are treated the same. Equal rebates like Bush put out are one thing. What about all of those millions of people who do not have Fannie or Freddie mortgages?

[Sometimes I think there are direct biological factors at work–a type of education, feeding, and physical training which has produced a new kind of human being with an imbalance in his nature. He has been fed vitamins and filled with energies that are beyond the capacity of his intellect to discipline. He has been treated to forms of education which have released him from inhibitions. His body is vigorous. His mind is childish. His soul has been almost completely neglected.

    [..]

Kind, good, happy, gentlemanly, secure people never go Nazi. They may be the gentle philosopher whose name is in the Blue Book, or Bill from City College to whom democracy gave a chance to design airplanes–you’ll never make Nazis out of them. But the frustrated and humiliated intellectual, the rich and scared speculator, the spoiled son, the labor tyrant, the fellow who has achieved success by smelling out the wind of success–they would all go Nazi in a crisis.

Believe me, nice people don’t go Nazi. Their race, color, creed,
or social condition is not the criterion. It is something in them.]
