Barack Obama's Latest Crackpot Claim: "Islam Has Always Been a Part of America"

In his annual Ramadan statement released yesterday Barack Obama claimed that,
“Islam has always been a a part of America.”
Really?
From the White House website:
On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I want to extend our best wishes to Muslims in America and around the world. Ramadan Kareem.
Ramadan is a time when Muslims around the world reflect upon the wisdom and guidance that comes with faith, and the responsibility that human beings have to one another, and to God. This is a time when families gather, friends host iftars, and meals are shared. But Ramadan is also a time of intense devotion and reflection – a time when Muslims fast during the day and pray during the night; when Muslims provide support to others to advance opportunity and prosperity for people everywhere. For all of us must remember that the world we want to build – and the changes that we want to make – must begin in our own hearts, and our own communities.
These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings. Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality. And here in the United States, Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been part of America and that American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our country. And today, I want to extend my best wishes to the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world – and your families and friends – as you welcome the beginning of Ramadan.
I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month.
Of course, this is just another crackpot claim by America’s most radical far left president. In fact, Islam had nothing to do with the founding of this great nation.

I’d certainly like to hear at least one “extraordinary contribution”. It’d probably be rather difficult, since only about 100,000 to 150,000 Muslims lived in the United States by the 1960′s.
Unless the Muslims had a disproportionately high number of scientists, writers, artists, and businessmen to the rest of the population, I think its rather unlikely!

Only if Hiroshima was a mohammedan city. But there is such a ridiculous motion around. Some Americans went on a tour to apologize for Hiroshima.
If America wants to apologize for something, apologize for the thousands of Japanese women who have been raped during the occupation. Or for not prosecuting Hirohito and the rest of the imperial family for warcrimes. Or letting the commanders of unit 731 go. And even that is somewhat stupid, given that the men responsible for these actions are either all dead by now, or very old.
I don’t want an apology from an American born after the war, and I know many Japanese who think exactly like that. It would be stupid so they say, and I agree with them. What’s the point? It’s history. There’s only one thing we can do: learn from it. Learn that one has to stand up to fascism a lot earlier.
As for Hiroshima and Nagasaki? That was war and if someone should be blamed for those two (among the other cities that were bombed into the ground), then it’s Hirohito and his goons. They started the war. They let women and children die in the firestorms while sitting save and secure in their bunkers. They sent thousands of young men, the cream of Japan’s youth, to certain death and talked about how everyone is a soldier and how everyone must make sacrifices for the divine emperor and the fatherland, while they pulled all strings to survive themselves.
Tojo is the perfect example. How many boys did he send to their deaths? Yet this man, who talked about the perverted “samurai spirit” of the Showa years (which has nothing to do with true bushido), had the guts to survive the war. Only when the Americans came knocking on his door he attempted suicide (and botched it.)

There is an attempt to change history. Check out muslimsinamerica.org and what they have for the 1700′s under history. They say Kunta Kinte was Muslim (funny, I don’t recall Alex Haley mentioning that). They try to say that the blacks during the Revolution who were named Salem were Muslim because Salem is meant to be Saleem. It’s horrifying that history is being preverted like this!

It is a month long party
Nights and days are flipped awake at night and sleep during the day. Not as much a hassle as going to Fairbanks in the midsummer
The majority of Muslims gain weight during the period from excess night time eating and sleeping during the day.
Violating a prohibition such as sex during the ramadan period can be cancelled by fasting at a later date.
Flights to Europe are pretty well booked by folks looking to escape.
Swallowing your own spit during the day is prohibited.
Legal expats have to do the work and fast while the locals sleep.
At Christmas the annual letter from the ministry prohibited 6 or more Christians from gathering.

Dear Joanne- Before you make a statement such as this, I suggest you read the Constitution, Article II Section 1:
No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
As far as I know, one can have one parent who is not a citizen of this country and still be eligible to be President. And, “birthers” claims aside, Mr Obama qualifies Constitutionally as president. So we who disagree with him must “suck it up” and work towards replacing him with someone we like in 2012.

Those who have only one parent who is a US citizen or those who are born to two US citizens somewhere other than in a US state or possession are dual citizens. If both parents are US citizens they are “naturalized by birth”. If one parent is not a US citizen then they until recently had to choose their nation of citizenship at age 18, at which time they became naturalized citizens in exactly the same way as someone who immigrated here. Why would Al-Qaeda care about long-term consequences from some other perspective (it’s hard to imagine that even zero would say something this illogical, but having said that, the Barack Obama “IS this asinine defense” is certainly one that is hard to rule out)?
Call me crazy, but it sounds like BO is bemoaning the fact that Al-Qaeda is not acting in what he believes is their best long-term self-interest, which is clearly at odds with America’s or civilization’s in general for that matter (of course I know it is hard to imagine The One thinking so arrogantly). But whether or not you buy that, you have to agree, this is one strikingly odd observation for a President of the United States to be making. Although perhaps not this particular President.
FWIW, I believe that in Hussein’s mind the cause of Africans and the cause of Islam…..err radical Islam is one in the same. The long-term consequence of not respecting African life sufficiently is that it has an adverse affect on recruitment that in my opinion Hussein believes is very important from a “radical Islamic” perspective.
Feel free to poke holes in this theory, but just think about it.

About your post. It makes sense if one is enmoured of Ghaddafi who calls himself Arab, but is looked at by Saudis as Black African.
Ghaddafi complains about it all the time as he promotes Nation of Islam. Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan flit back and forth to Libya, not Riyadh. Obama facilitated the Lockerbie Bomber back to safe haven in Libya. Obama made Ghaddafi happy, even if no one ELSE is.
Ghaddafi is NOT liked by … okay he’s HATED by Black AFricans for the wars, death and strife he’s perpetrated against them in his zeal for his vision of a “GREEN Islamic SOCIALIST unified AFRICA under.. Obama’s support of the communist Odinga and his insertion into the new Kenyan constitution of sharia may be setting Kenya on a path towards eventual civil war.
Obama has always been not really either or, this or that. He’s not American or Kenyan or Indonesian, a child expat for a little bit, then not, a unremarkable careless student who went to Harvard, his mother a non-entity, his father a photo. His grandfather is just another photo, his grandmother “a bank teller.. or maybe it was a bank manager or a bank V.P.” Obama goes to China meets his “half-brother” and there’s no “there, there.” Just mumble, split.

In 2008 Bush attended Ramadan dinner in state dining room & addressed Muslim attendees by saying, “Over the past 8 years, we have made the Iftaar dinner an annual tradition here at the White House.” He understood that we were not going to win the hearts and minds of the people of Iraq or Afghanistan by calling them every dirty name in the book. You call yourself “protectors of the constitution,” but then don’t abide by it. You call yourself Patriotic, but discredit our soldiers who are trying to make Iraq a democracy. They are Muslims!
