WAR ZONE – Drug Cartel Shoots at Blackhawk Helicopter; El Paso Court House Hits (Photos)

I flew into El Paso, Texas today and am speaking at the Las Cruces, New Mexico tea party rally tomorrow. Today we stopped by the El Paso City Hall today after it was hit on Wednesday during a drug cartel shootout.
The cartel members were reportedly shooting at a Blackhawk helicopter in Juarez that was called to the scene. The bullets hit the Assistant City Manager’s office at the El Paso City Hall.
The incident happened yesterday when a bullet flew into the 9th floor of City Hall.
6 more bullet holes were found on the building, but those rounds are believed to have gotten stuck in the walls.
Mexican authorities say it may have been federal agents who fired the shots.
The gunfire is still under investigation.
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott wrote a letter to President Obama after the shooting:
Dear Mr. President,
Deadly violence from drug cartels and transnational gangs in Mexico is knocking on the United States’ door with ever increasing frequency.
Yesterday, gunfire from the cartels pierced that threshold and struck City Hall in El Paso. Fortunately no one was injured or killed. But that good fortune was not the result of effective border control it was mere luck that the bullets struck buildings rather than bodies.
Luck and good fortune are not effective border enforcement policies. The shocking reality of cross border gunfire proves the cold reality: American lives are at risk. As the attached news article notes: “More than 1,300 people have been murdered in Ju?rez this year as a war continues relentlessly between the Ju?rez and Sinaloa drug cartels.” Americans must be protected as this deadly war bulges at our border.
Law enforcement officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety and your own U.S. Customs and Border Protection will reveal the hard truth. Our state is under constant assault from illegal activity threatening a porous border.
The time for talk has passed. The time for action is now. The need is urgent. Each day that passes increases the likelihood that an American life will be lost because of the federal government’s failure to secure the border.
This threat demands immediate and effective action by your Administration to secure our border. As the Attorney General of Texas, I urge you to make border security your top priority so that no more innocent lives are lost to border violence.
The border guards were out working today on the border with Juarez.

Call out the National guard, and refuse to release any more personnel for federal service for the duration of this problem.
Call out the Texas State guard, including the naval units for active duty.
Mobilize state law enforcement. DPS, Rangers.
Sheriff’s; call out the posse and deputize all good US citizens from anywhere who want to help. Ask for donations to feed the posse, (you will get buried in donations) and bunk them in public schools.
Arrest any fed who gets in the way, and show them to the state line.

Apparently, not only keeping some kind of civilized society is beyond the Mexican’s ability but it seems they have failed in map reading.

It’s obvious to me that we can’t and won’t control our own border. Our government must be taking orders from somewhere else because they are certainly not listening to the citizens.
Marie is right. This is not a problem that began with Obama. We still have plenty of Republicans who are apparently willing to give up our sovereignity, and Lindsey Graham is just the most obvious.
They try to scare us by saying we will lose the Latino vote. What do we gain if we win an election but lose our country. Besides, I believe most Latino citizens will stand with us to preserve our way of life.
Obama is the President now and he has the responsibility and obligation to put a stop to this national suicide at our borders and that scares the hell out of me.
It’s time we clean house, folks, with the 2010 elections for starters. Any politician not for protecting our constitution and our borders is to be considered the enemy and he or she needs to be voted out and then investigated for treason.

Marie, you’re right about Bush and those before him who left the border open. If you recall, however, when Bush started talking about amnesty, the conservatives got loud and he shut up about it. Oilbama, on the other hand, has fanned the flames by talking about amnesty through executive order. Like that’s not bad enough, violence near the US-Mexico border has increased many times over in the last year. (You can guess why that is.) So, while the problems of illegal immigration and the open border are at an all-time high, Oilbama is talking more insanity to make it even worse, making it impossible to simply excuse the problem with, “Well, Bush did it, too,” and let it go with that.

Yeah. I think Militant Conservative was just ticked off and posting some angry words. I don’t think he really wants to kill millions of immigrants or anyone else, either. Those of us who stay on top of the news – the real news, that is, not the “nice” news that the lamestream media reports – are angry and have been for a while now. And some of us post some over-the-top comments sometimes (not that I ever do that…cough-bullsh!t-cough). We’re just blowing off steam.
