Top Obama Adminstration officials announced today that after reviewing the entire tape of Shirley Sherrod speaking at an NAACP event in March they may offer the former Georgia Director of Rural Development her job back.

The entire tape shows that not only is Sherrod a racist who attacks white farmers during her speech but that she is likely a Marxist, too. Maybe that’s what got Team Obama to rethink their decision.
The Politico reported:

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Wednesday that he will reconsider the abrupt firing of Shirley Sherrod, a Georgia-based Agriculture Department official who was the victim of a media frenzy over comments that turned out to have been distorted by video editing.

“I am of course willing and will conduct a thorough review and consider additional facts to ensure to the American people we are providing services in a fair and equitable manner,” Vilsack said in a statement e-mailed by USDA at 2:07 a.m.

A White House official said: “Not sure what the ultimate result will be, but it’s clear that with new information through the full speech, a longer look needed to be taken. The White House contacted the Department last night about the case and agreed, based on new evidence, that it should be reviewed.”

Of course, the media, for the most part, doesn’t bat an eye listening to Sherrod’s views of whitey. Could you even imagine if Sherrod were a white person saying these awful things about blacks?

  1. Jim, stop calling her a racist in the present tense. Her speech was a story of moving past racialist discrimination she engaged in, not of portraying present racist inclinations. If you’ve seen the full speech, you know that and you’re being dishonest. If you haven’t seen the full speech, you’re being unwise.

As for the Marxism, I urge you to consider that what she’s saying about the manipulation of poor white and black farmers by the empowered class is true historically whether it’s a Marxist or a Capitalist reciting that truth. Indeed, the tea party has resurrected the notion of unwarranted class privilege like no other movement (talk of “the political class” or “the ruling class” is ubiquitous within the movement, as you well know).

Why is it NECESSARILY Marxist to decry machinations by the privileged at the expense of the poor and in promotion of racial conflict?

What she’s saying COMPORTS WITH — not conflicts with — the goals and objectives of the tea party.

Some intellectual rigor on this issue, please, Jim. You’re heading into demagogeury territory, and without warrant.

  2. So, even after seeing the entire video (no thanks to Breitbart) you still maintain she is a racist? You’re a pathetic wingnut Hoff. The story she was telling was a story of reconciliation and a change of heart. The entire point of the story was that she learned that the problem was haves versus have nots, not black versus white, yet you continue to spew your lies and red-baiting hatred. Even the Spooners, the white family she was talking about in the video have come out and defended her and told of how she was responsible for helping save their farm. Still, you want to sow hatred and racial animosity. Your party and your kind are a dying breed. You’ll soon be relegated to the dustbin of history along with the Whigs. Bye bye.

  3. Hahaha, look at the clowns as they run here…and there. Ben ought to address his laughter as Shirley denigrated whites, and later as Shirley changed her tune from race hatred to class hatred.

In actuality, the hatred is still for whitey, but the realization is that she will need some poor whites to overthrow the rich ones.

This person is not qualified to run the dog pound. She is obviously mentally challenged, and should not be in charge of anything. That she has reached the position she has should make us all scared as hell as to what else is out there.

  4. Yeah, racist and marxist! Obama and Sherrod are like peas in a pod!

  7. Typical of the Obama administration. Remember the Harvard Prof and the policeman? Obama shoots his mouth off before he has all the facts. Same thing here. He should have waited 24-48 hours for all the facts to come in. I guess when it has to do with race, it’s just a knee-jerk response.

  9. I don’t know what you were listening to but I did not hear the message of a racist or a Marxist. What is disturbing is how far you are reaching to demonize someone with some very strong adjectives (racist, Marxist)in this invective charged environment. I don’t see condemnation about what Breitbart did. I don’t see condemnation about what the USDA did. The kind of writing you are doing is the kind of writing that tears societies asunder. You have no desire for understanding. You want to attack and your invective shows you to not care much about the consequences of baseless charges. When in this country has having money not been an advantage over those who don’t? Money gets you the best attorneys, doctors, and accountants. To say there is no advantage to having wealth is incredible. To say one wants to help those who do not have the access that the wealthy have is not in any way, shape, or form Marxist. America and the United States is not about hate. Our constitution is not about hate. The bible doesn’t endorse hate but rather shows what the product of hate can be. I suggest you consider attending an anger management class because you are obviously very angry at something.

  10. I echo the calls not to call her racist. She is a former racist by her own speech. Jim, you are being unjust and out of line. This hurts our cause to point out real & current racism within NAACP. Allman was also off base too this morning poo-pooing her conversion story, which is clearly a part of the speech.

I am not certain that she said enough in that particular speech to warrant the label marxist either. I am not sure of that one yet.

Now, she may or may not be a scammer regarding the settlement for black farmers in which she’s involved. Why don’t you bark up that tree, Jim, and see what you find? This could be the real story. Lay off Sherrod’s speech.

  11. Video: Shirley Sherrod Is A Racist And A Marxist

Several disputes have broken out on Twitter over the full-length, 45 minute version of Shirley Sherrod addressing an NAACP gathering. Sherrod spends 15 – 20 minutes recounting tales of racism in the South, including the murder of her Father. On a personal level that is tragic. But the fact remains, she uses it as a device to provide her with absolute moral authority to speak on issues pertinent to today. And if you listen carefully to Sherrod, I believe she reveals herself to be both a racist, who sees things in terms of color, as well as a latter day Marxist. She uses race, in part, to justify those views.

In Sherrod’s view, there is no one world, or even two. There are three. The elite, or wealthy, the whites, propped up over blacks, and then there are blacks. Far from the post-racial America some of her rhetoric would lead you be believe she embraces as a vision, this is a woman trapped by views of race and class that make her a poor public servant at best. Listen to these three minutes and decide for yourself.

In her world, any racism that existed in the past very much exists today. She hasn’t truly grown at all based upon her own words.

    http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2010/07/video-shirley-sherrod-is-a-racist-and-a-marxist.html

  12. john, you might want to check your comprehension meter, as Breibart was showing the racism of the NAACP, not Shirley Sherrod. Look at how the mopes laughed and guffawed as Shirley related how she mistreated a white farmer.

And rasqual, again, why would she want to be part of this administration if she were so supportive of tea party ideas? And a better question, why would this administration promote a tea “bagger” to her position? I’m pretty sure the head of the Dept. of Agriculture was quite aware of Ms. Sherrod’s politics(my bet is she is a liberal Democrat, at best) before her appointment. Sorry, I don’t buy your explanation. In any event, the story is about the NAACP, not Shirley Sherrod, and the Jounolist lefty’s are doing their best to spin…spin…spin. If you aren’t one of those, you are falling in their trap.

  13. The story should always have been less about the speaker and more about the audience. It is the NAACP audience’s supportive reaction to the “racist” statements that is most significant — no one objected when she said she didn’t want to help a white dude. Then she goes on and redeems herself in the full version of the tape.

It’s easier to target an individual though (think Joe the Plumber, Sarah Palin, etc) than a group (although they’re doing their best to smear the Tea Party). The Obama administration and the NAACP got punked and didn’t do due diligence on investigating “racism” before jumping to conclusions… sound familiar? Beer summit anyone?

What is truly revealed is the type of reaction of the NAACP crowd in the video, and the hasty rush to condemn by the NAACP and Obama Administration.

They had to act quickly to preserve the Tea Party’s monopoly on racism… oops!

  14. Templar Knight. If the story’s not about Sherrod, GP’s headline must change.

  15. Racist and Marxist my foot! Even a host of leading conservatives are denouncing this witchhunt–Krauthammer, Beck, the editors of National Review. And they’re dead right. This woman has done absolutely nothing wrong. Firing her was a shameful disgrace. And conservatives who stand behind it only make themselves and their movement look mean and stupid.

  16. Sorry libtards, the coordinated attempt to discredit Jim Hoft doesn’t fly. Go to straight to hell.
Sherrod is on film on record and on tape admitting to treating a WHITE MAN unfairly as she acted in her GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRATIC POSITION.
She has disqualified herself. She ADMITTED to discriminating against a white farmer.
She was on the GOVERNMENT PAYROLL when she did. I know you libs will understand my point, because you abhor racism in any form.
RIGHT? We here at GATEWAY agree with you.
RACISTS need not apply for GOVERNMENT POSITIONS. RIGHT LIBTARDS??
We have you by the balls libtards. We have one of your chosen ones on FILM admitting to using her position of AUTHORITY to discriminate against WHITEY.
Lastly, Sherrod made these statements while speaking to the NAACP. The NAACP is racist in and of itself. Now I know you LIBTARDS won’t like hearing that. But you’ll get used to is.
I have a film of Sherrod spitting and White farmers and calling them CRACKERS.

    Point, game, set, match.

  18. Exactly, down with dems, and I can’t believe the people who comment here couldn’t make that distinction. That is what Breitbart said in his interview, as Shirley Sherrod was a speaker at the NAACP meeting in question, and it was the reaction of the audience, not Shirley’s speech itself that was the issue.

  19. Look at all the new LIBTARD names on the blog this morning. This isn’t coordianted!!!!

  21. “Firing her was a shameful disgrace. And conservatives who stand behind it only make themselves and their movement look mean and stupid.”

She was fired by her own side. If it was such a “shameful disgrace” then why would it be us who look so “mean and stupid”? Oh wait I get it, Obama and Vilsack were manipulated by the blogs.

Most of America doesn’t even know anything about any of this.

Now we have a whole bunch of people coming in here like concerned citizens saying to watch the whole video. Well I don’t remember any of you saying to look at the whole of the Tea Party movement when they’ve just been slammed as racist by these very people in this video.

The NAACP dropped the big bomb in this affair.
Then the Obama administration “acted stupidly”.

What were they so eager to hide? Sherrod and her husband have already gamed the system for $300,000 plus presumably the $50,000 general settlement price, plus a job and who know what else. If any of that is placed in jeopardy by reflexive reactions from her own side then so be it.

Let’s continue this “national conversation” Holder called for. It’s proving to be quite illuminating to see how much racism exists in the non-white communities, and how those communities are still able to play the race card to their advantage.

  22. I think Breitbart and Fox were set up. First of all Obama doesn’t go along with firing anyone this quickly let alone — PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND DECLARE YOU ARE RESIGNING. Its all a game to this mob but if you look at the recent polls the American people are treating this economy as seriously as a Heart Attack.

Declaring Racism around every corner doesn’t seem to induce guilt the way it used to. We have bigger problems to deal with. Sharrod may float Axelrod’s boat but she doesn’t mean a thing to most Americans. We are focusing like a lasar beam on the next election. As far as the too cute by half media is concerned — they no longer matter. We are the mainstream media now. Thank you Gateway.

  23. Templar, the only time a white person gets to redeem him/herself is when the are LIBTARDS.

I do not give this woman a pass at all.

She discriminated not in her opinion or her personal life. She discriminated in her capacity as a bureaucrat in Georgia.
If a white man EVER was caught admitting that, he would not get a pass.
The LEFT, the NAACP, the WHITE HOUSE and the COMPLICIT MEDIA started this battle when they called PATRIOTIC AMERICANS…TEA BAGGERS and RACISTS without providing one shred of evidence.
I’m not backing down. Sherrod made her own bed.

  24. Peggy, agreed.

  25. Maybe Sherrod can join the NEW BLACK PANTHER party and patrol the polls in November.

  26. She will never be part of their ruling class.

  27. Hey Libtards its a tempest in a teacup. How pathetic Obama and the Dems are in their need to excite the Black Vote for the 2010 election to pull a stunt like this. Check out the polls — any Republican candidate for President would beat Obama.

Next The White House has decided to play baseball against a major league team. Still looking for love Obama has tried everything but the Home Shopping Network but is finding that Americans are sick of his razzle dazzle.

  28. gus: Are you including Beck and Krauthammer as libtards, since they’re echoing the same thing?

This is about honesty, gus. Are you a plant trying to make conservatives look stupid?

templar knight: You’re not understanding. Try. Jim’s branding her as Marxist on the merits of a casually classist remark during the full speech. My point is that tea partiers — who have my full sympathy and support though I’ve not been active myself — use classist speech all the time, though it’s the political class at issue and not an economic class.

Nevertheless, whether it’s money or government office that provides power, that power can be abused. That power WAS abused during reconstruction, and it DID pit blacks against whites. It could be argued that this has distracted blacks and white conservatives from their common interests for 150 years. Now, at this late stage, we have a political and corporatist class (I did NOT say “capitalist”, so don’t make the ridiculous mistake of thinking me anti-capitalist) that keeps us (blacks, whites, latinos, whoever) pitted against each other when what we have in common against their usurpations and abuses of power far exceeds what divides us.

There IS an element of class consciousness in play here, that needs to become ubiquitous across the lines that have divided us all. It’s called the CITIZEN CLASS.

( Try to call that Marxist, gus ;-)

  29. I agree with a number of folks who have commented here, as well as with Glenn Beck, that the edited portion of the video was her describing a pivot point in her life, a little epiphany, perhaps. We on the right do not appreciate the left throwing around the term racist whenever we voice disagreement with them or with the president. We should not sink to their level.

That said, I agree with some who point out that the audience’s reaction was particularly telling, perhaps, suggesting that there were a few racists in the crowd who were not tracking with her, not seeing where she was going with this story. Thus, they revealed themselves in their laughter.

Marxist? I don’t know. Populist maybe? Marxist is another term that is too easily thrown around by our side, diluting it’s meaning. I doubt Ms. Sherrod would have been in the Lenin camp back in the day. Maybe Kerensky’s (if memory serves), and we know what happened to the faction (again if memory serves).

There are enough villains on the left without making them up.

  30. I blame Breitbart and FOX for firing this fine woman.

  31. Note the Obami, have no use for former racists, such as Shirley Sherrod. Thed do however eulogize unrepretentent racists like the late Sheets Byrd. and still retain the peophile Kevin Jennings.

Sherrod is not the issue. She is distraction. The issue is that the fact tha the NAA[L}CP is racist. The NAA[L}CP condemned Sherrod for speech she gave to the organization back in March. Hello.

  32. I thought she resigned, not got fired.

  33. Rasqual, your tripe doesn’t work with me. I understand LIBTARDS completely. I’m glad Sherrod NO LONGER DISCRIMINATES against WHITEY.
Sorry Rasqual, you need to run along back to the DAILY KOOK website Sherrod and the NAACP exposed themselves as RACISTS. If Ms Sherrod has decided to straighten up and fly right. God bless her. She has admitted to using her position of AUTHORITY to discriminate against a WHITE FARMER.

    Rasqual approves of RACISM.

I own idiots like you Ras-hole.

  34. Jim,
Your title is disingenuous. This woman explained why what she did was wrong. You are hurting your credibility here. I know its good to drive traffic, but this type of stuff turns a conservative like me off. The NAACP is the culprit here. The people in the audience who either laughed or weren’t offended are the culprits too.

  35. Since there is little racism in America today against blacks compared to many, many years ago, the NAACP really has no purpose any more. (There is probably as much racism by blacks against Latinos as racism by whites against blacks. Ever seen a Latino as President of the United States or an Asian?)

So the NAACP has morphed into a branch of the Democratic party in charge of the “Racial Card” division. Whenever the Democrats are in trouble they can always go to the NAACP to dig up some racism charge against white Repubicans. (You notice how the NAACP never finds a racist white person? They check the part affiliation before throwing out the race card.)

  36. Update to 9:48 am post. Last lines should read:
(You notice how the NAACP never finds a racist white DEMOCRAT? They check the part affiliation before throwing out the race card.)

  38. ATTENTION ATTENTION. BREAKING NEWS.

The tea baggers are all racists.
Tea baggers were spitting on black Congressmen and civil rights legend John Lewis.
We know all of this is true because LIBTARDS told us. And the NAACP told us.
Hmmmmm. Who was SHERROD speaking to when she ADMITTED to DISCRIMINATING against a WHITE FARMER in her OFFICAL GOVERNMENT CAPACITY?

  39. Robert: “Now we have a whole bunch of people coming in here like concerned citizens saying to watch the whole video. Well I don’t remember any of you saying to look at the whole of the Tea Party movement when they’ve just been slammed as racist by these very people in this video.”

I AM a concerned citizen, yes, because Jim’s use of the PRESENT TENSE in calling her racist can only be based on the partial video divorced from context. The full video shows that the “racist” portion was what she had repented of in her life.

When people give a “testimony” of where they’ve been and what they’ve been delivered from, the language of confession is often complete enough to give the hearer a sense of how bad they were. Here remarks were consistent with this form. And in fact, from a standpoint of persuasion and homiletics, if indeed the audience in attendance had racist blacks among ‘em, this speech would give them something to think about — NOT reinforcement for their racism.

Why am I concerned? Because we freakin’ don’t need Jim, or any other conservative or tea party leader, looking stupid, rash, or dishonest in a run-up to an important election.

Who gives a flyin’ rip whether the MSM looks stupid for misrepresenting the tea party? The blogosphere will wipe them out, as is happening just now with the Journolist disclosures.

We have to hold each other accountable when we’re out of line, and Jim’s grossly out of line on this one.

I agree with someone here who said that if the story really is about racism evident in the audience, leave Shirley out of it (inasmuch as her speech would challenge any present racists to consider her own redemption from racism!). Focus on the NAACP.

But Jim keeps headlining Shirley as a RACIST.

Wrong. Jim, repent of that idiocy, take a brief sabbath vacation and get your game back. Dude. You can’t be going bonkers with only 100 days till the election. You’re needed in top form — not as someone the left can, indeed, discredit.

Folks, when there’s no good explanation for NOT being fully honest about something, folks will begin speculating about alternate reasons. “Hmm. She’s obviously not racist, so why would this guy continue to call her racist against all evidence? Maybe he’s racist himself?” Mind you, I’M not saying that. But folks who oppose Jim would leverage inexplicable non-fidelity to truth to propose that as a possible conclusion.

Jim’s really vulnerable on this, and it’s ridiculous for him to do that to himself. It’s careless when we need carefulness.

  40. Gus: Dude. Meds. Get ‘em and use ‘em under professional supervision.

  41. She resigned at request of the WH. I find this as awesome. Too many times good people have had to resign for less. TPM/America wins no matter what NAACP/WH does. There is a God and he has a great sense of timing/humor. Pwdr is dry.

I think it was a set-up, too. In addition to what you posted, I also find it odd that the incriminating portion of the tape was released one day and then the rest of her videotaped speech was released the very next day.

Glenn Beck thinks he was the target of the set-up. When they released the rest of the tape yesterday, it was accompanied by a statement about how Beck had played the first part – the incriminating portion – out of context the night before. However, Beck hadn’t played it all because he didn’t have time left for it in the previous day’s program.

You may recall that it was Beck who exposed Van Jones and, like a dog with a bone, hung on to that one, demanding an explanation of why a self-labeled communist was working in the White House. Instead of addressing the issue, they fired Van Jones. Later, Van Jones and the NAACP, when Jones received an award from them, blamed Beck for Jones’ firing.

So, maybe Beck’s right. Maybe their plan was to have Sherrod exposed and fired the first day, vindicated the next day, then blame him for getting her fired and cite that as proof that his speech is dangerous and so he should be silenced.

As it turned out, Beck didn’t have time to play (they should have given it another day or two before releasing the rest of the clip, thus putting her remarks in context and vindicating her). But that doesn’t mean the whole scheme was a waste of time and effort. Conservatives who did play/report on the Sherrod incriminating portion of the clip, Fox News and conservative radio, can get the treatment that may have been planned with Beck in mind.

  43. bg: right. this is what I mean when I talk about how the black community and conservatives share a lot in common. the powerful have divided us for 150 years.

And now, in these comments, ironically during a year when reconciliation and citizen re-empowerment for all could be in reach and blacks and conservatives together could begin to join ranks — ironically, I say, in these comments it’s not the powerful who are impeding us, but those who profess to be stakeholders in the citizen class. It’s like an idiocracy.

It’s working. The media is playing us all for fools. We’re falling into racialist conflict again, with blogospheric headlines focused on nothing else.

    Not good.

  44. Send in the Concern Trolls – Check

Try to change the topic – Check

    Attack Jim Hoft – Check

Keep it up! You leftists are on a roll.

  45. Hold it – back to the other thread on this subject.

How does the USG hire Sherrod when she and her husband are the key figures in what has become a multi-billion dollar class action suit pending against USDA? How did Obama appoint her with a financial conflict of interest that huge? It’s a big case and well known in Left circles. Isn’t it likely Obama was aware of it yet appointed her anyway?

This Pigford vs Vilsack is the key to the flip-flopping. There is a scandal here that’s even bigger than her speech, and it looks like the media is rushing to distract.

The second scandal is she and Alvin Greene are reading off the same script: get on the government payroll. Be dependent on government salary, which means supporting government busyworks projects – thus the mention of road construction Greene listed. Both are not telling the audience to become entrepreneurs, start-up businesses. Who is writing this script? Greene didn’t read like he recognized the words he supposedly wrote.

SHerrod’s Pigford suit claims that the USG somehow interfered with blacks who wanted to farm. WHat was it so different from everyone else wanting to start-up farming at that time? It’s been brutal for EVERYONE. But her class action suit is posed to hand over billions in taxpayer money to a growing band of “farmers” of whom a number never farmed anything and possibly never intended to.

Did Breitbart inavertently expose something he didn’t know about?

  46. There IS a bigger story here, true enough. But the left won’t have to face that so long as they have plenty of opportunity to call Jim and other conservatives dishonest for running with (and running, and running, and running with) the “racist Shirley” thing.

Chisum: Grow up. Your inferential engine is supplying gratuitous paranoid premises which, Venn’d with sincere posts from concerned conservatives, yield delusional conclusions. Seriously, dude. Since when does honest concern for integrity and honestly deserve the label “leftist”? ;-)

  47. Sherrod was sacrificed to protect Holder and the other (real) racism being practiced by this president.

Hoft and Breitbart are not my gods. They are humans subject to error, as am I.

Any one who doesn’t toe the line on a blog is a “troll.” Sigh. There are real trolls on blogs, but geesh.

  48. AuntieMadder #44

Nevermind the comment I left at 44. I’d heard Beck yesterday his version of who released what and when and so mistakenly thought it was the NAACP who released the clip in two parts. Actually, it was Breitbart who released the clip in two parts “to teach them a lesson.” Apparently, Breitbart set up the NAACP and Sherrod, who he claims wasn’t the object of his post/video clip release, was just a casualty of war.

  49. I’d like to know exactly what the white farmer did or said that sherrod interpreted as demeaning or racist. She’s just another paranoid black asshat that cries racism if looked at cross eyed by a white person.

  50. There is nothing as damning as a testimony explaining why you were wrong. We probably won’t get much more of that.

It does not say much for Vilsack who probably got a panicked call from the WH asking how they could broom her. He should have been the one to stand against the political tide and investigate the allegations and then decide. But it is politics, isn’t it?

Perhaps she has something else that doesn’t bear scrutiny or perhaps they don’t wan’t people to keep watching the video and seeing how inappropriate the audience reaction was to her speech. I am not sure what it is from this video.

There is so much crap coming out of this mess of an administration, when shocking news comes out, it is easy to assume it is just one more thing. But lest we sound like the people continuing to refer to the Tea Partiers spitting and calling epithets, we should probably accept it when that news is shown to be ginned up. If she is a Marxist (is that rare in this admin?), I can only say that the one thing that makes Sherrod different from others in this administration is that she actually demonstated some self-examination.

  54. “As part of a April 14, 1999 class action case settlement, commonly known as the Pigford case, U.S. taxpayers have already provided over $1 billion in cash, non-credit awards and debt relief to almost 16,000 black farmers who claimed that they were discriminated against by USDA officials as they “farmed or attempted to farm.” In addition, USDA’s Farm Service Agency spent over $166 million on salaries and expenses on this case from 1999-2009, according to agency records.

Members of Congress may approve another $1.15 billion this week to settle cases from what some estimate may be an additional 80,000 African-Americans who have also claimed to have been discriminated against by USDA staff.

… Settling this case is clearly a priority for the White House and USDA. Secretary Vilsack described the funding agreement reached between the Administration and advocates for black farmers early this year as “an important milestone in putting these discriminatory claims behind us for good and in achieving finality for this group of farmers with longstanding grievances.”
However, confronted with the skyrocketing federal deficit, more officials are taking a critical look at the billion dollars spent thus far and wondering when these discrimination cases will ever end. Already, the number of people who have been paid and are still seeking payment will likely exceed the 26,785 black farmers who were considered to even be operating back in 1997, according to USDA. That’s the year the case initially began as Pigford v. (then Agriculture Secretary) Glickman and sources predicted that, at most, 3,000 might qualify……”

If you’re worried about getting a little dirty then stand aside and watch. We have barely begun to scratch the surface of racism in America, that of racism against white people.

You can’t daintily pick up one corner of the carpet and peek under, you have to throw it back and see the gooey mess in totality.

We have spent literally trillions of dollars, have cities in black control turning into third world enclaves, have a black president, attorney general, numerous legislative representatives (who have their own exclusive racist organization called the Congressional Black Caucus).

Yet we still can’t even make a peep about a single impropriety of any kind among blacks, before the foghorn call of racism is blown. Well, as they have been so fond of saying, their time has come.

No, as Holder said, let’s not be a nation of cowards. Let’s look at the truth. All of it.

Let’s look at this case, and how it ties into pending legislation. Funding for a settlement involving Sherrod is due to be included in an appropriations bill due to passed any day. Perhaps, in their rush to avoid examination of this issue the White House and Department of Agriculture conspired to force the resignation of this official.

Let’s look at Black Liberation theology and how it specifically combines religion and politics to implement a totalitarian utopia, something that would create mass hysteria among the Left and media if it involved Christianity. Yet we have this poisonous ideology reaching right into the presidency and the executive branch, demanding redistribution for the sake of collective salvation (a concept foreign to Christianity).

The truth shall set us free.

  56. Chisum: What makes you think I have Chicago thug politics “down pat?” By the way, my name’s Scott Marquardt, and you’re welcome to e-mail me at scott.marquardt@gmail.com if you wish to augment your assumptions with knowledge through conversation.

I honestly don’t understand people who seem to think that conservatives who want our own to be invulnerable to criticisms from the left on tragically needless grounds, are actually liberal plants or somesuch.

The ankle biting thing is just weird.

  57. http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2010/07/shirley-sherrod-another-community-organizer-enjoying-her-welldeserved-reparations-.html ” This must-read story also reveals that Ms. Sherrod’s husband is a former honcho in the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee back in the 1960’s. You can read more about it in Bill Ayers book “Fugitive Days.” Yes, that Bill Ayers. He was involved in SNCC as well.

No wonder Ms. Sherrod had to go immediately, particularly on the day of the Journo-Rev. Wright story. As Mr. Blumer says, not so fast.” Mr Brumer has written an article @ WashingtonExaminer. The FUGITIVE DAYS link is in the Illinois Review article. So what we have here is that Sherrod & Hubby have sued the USDA and got a MUCH LARGER share than others. They got 300 Thousand Dollars for ‘pain and suffering’ And the Congress Wants to ADD billions to the USDA Program for Black Farmers whether they farm or not. SO it isonce again WE THE PEOPLE who will pay for the 13 Million and the Upcoming Bill (which the article indicates that Lib Congress is planning soon BUT needed a reason or distraction to pass as it is BILLIONS more) and that the taxpayers have paid over 116 Million just to settle the Pigford Case. AND Last but NOT LEAST ….Sherrod’s Hubby is a good pal of Bill Ayers.

  58. The ankle biting thing is just weird.

Hmmm, let’s see. You’ve got the sanctimonious bit down pat. Name calling, too. Oh, and the drama. Can’t forget that.

I must admit that the practicing medicine without a license is a new twist. Unless you are a licensed physician?

    (just a sample)

there is also more black on black crime..

[Liberal benefactors and foundations are not interested in addressing social pathologies which can only be eliminated by change of values, stable families and the willingness of fathers to parent their children. The government's coffers are closed to moral judgments and spirituality. Faith in God, parental love and discipline to instill values of decency and responsibility are the antidotes to gangs, crime and drugs. However, allegations of racism, discrimination and social injustice are far more marketable for the Rainbow Coalition and the NAACP.]

    The white James Byrd

Community must respond to black-on-black crime deadliest

[Yes, crime is a problem in my childhood home, Hartford, Conn., and in my present home. Charlottesville; and, yes, in both places as well as in black communities throughout the United States it stems from black teens not being anchored by a positive identity.

In this century, black-on-black crime is the most insidious killer of black people, especially black men. This disease has taken years to manifest itself, and it will take years to eliminate.]

[M. Rick Turner is president of the local chapter of the NAACP.]

okay, the underlying truth of the matter is hidden in plain sight..

blacks keep pointing back to the days when they were victims of racism (and they were) because they cannot tolerate the thought of their own being racist victimizers themselves..

not to mention their own plantations & black slave ownership
& confederate army soldiers being part of their own ancestry..

[not making excuses, just filling in the way too long
excluded omissions.. not to mention white slavery]

sigh, he has so many supposed FACTS
wrong, yet he’s “excused”, go figure..

sorry Obama, but neither you nor the NAACP can make it w/out
“excuses”.. you blame everyone but you, and the NAACP blames
    anyone but the NAACP..

TIME TO BREAK THE RACIST CHAINS THAT BIND, JUST LOOK TO

  63. I don’t know why they would give her the job back. They are trying to get past the black farmer law suits – where they fear many farmers are signing on not because they were harmed but because they might get some money – but they are paying to get all that behind them. Now, because of what she said, context or no context, she is a magnet for white farmer law suits.

In fact I don’t know how an agency can hire anyone who sued them. It seems like a conflict of interest. How do they explain to tax payers that someone who sued the government for 13 million dollars of taxpayer money should be working for that government?

She may be a wonderful and saintly woman, but she doesn’t belong at the USDA.

  64. ++

DID ANYONE LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE VIDEO??

EXACTLY WHAT WAS THE “CONTEXT” THAT
CHANGED THE MEANING OF HER WORDS??

    thank you..

  65. While I commend Shirley Sherrod for admitting that her past racism, of discriminating against a white farmer, was wrong, I think many posters on here are missing a very important point.

Mrs Sherrod did NOT have to use terminology like “his own kind”, and “his white lawyer” while telling a story about how she did not use her full force to help the white farmer.

I did see the redemption toward the end of her speech about how there should be no difference between blacks, whites, and hispanics…but I don’t care how anyone explains it to me…it does not make any sense to still use that terminology when explaining past racism.

If everyone would look at this honestly, and flip this around with a white person telling the story, then I believe people would see the hypocracy here.

If a white person told this story, referrring to blacks as “their own kind”, and later admitted that blacks and whites should be treated the same…wouldn’t the white person be expected to also admit that it is wrong to refer to another race as “their own kind”?

Mrs Sherrod did admit that her job should be color blind, but it would have been nice if she had admonished her audience that it is wrong to speak about other races as “their own kind”. Mrs Sherrod appeared on video to have an endearing quality to her. I’m sure she is a nice person at heart.

If Glenn Beck was caught on tape referring to other races as “their own kind”, while trying to tell a story of redemption, he would be pilloried. Critics would say he should have motioned quotation marks with his hands while using the term “their own kind”, to show that he does not currently agree with using that terminology. Let’s be honest about this.

I don’t know if Mrs Sherrod harbors racist attitudes towards whites today, but I believe that Black Panthers and many in the NAACP do harbor negative racist attitudes towards whites.

I disagree with those that are bashing Jim Hoft on here. Jim has proven to be one of the best trustworthy conservative bloggers out there.

I agree with Mrs Sherrod that it would be nice to see more white people setting with blacks at speeches like she gave……..but that day will probably come faster when people stop using racist terminology that separates us.

  66. Title of post:

Team Obama May Give Job Back to Racist Marxist NAACP Speaker Sherrod

    Sentence within post:

The entire tape shows that not only is Sherrod a racist who attacks white farmers during her speech but that she is likely a Marxist, too.

    Shouldn’t you be consistent?
