Sarah Palin bashed plans for a Ground Zero Mosque today on Twitter.
The Hill reported:
Sarah Palin took to Twitter Sunday to bash plans for an Islamic cultural center and mosque two blocks from the site of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City.
Palin tweeted: “Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real.”
An hour later she added: “Peace-seeking Muslims, pls understand, Ground Zero mosque is UNNECESSARY provocation; it stabs hearts. Pls reject it in interest of healing.”
The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate is attacking the planned Cordoba House, a project that has New York politicians lining up on both sides.
The radical imam behiind the Ground Zero Mosque is linked to the Gaza terror Flotilla.

[I am an American Muslim dedicated to defeating the ideology that fuels global Islamist terror -- political Islam. And I don't see such a "center" actually fighting terrorism or being a very "positive" addition near Ground Zero, no matter how well intentioned.
To put it bluntly, Ground Zero is the one place in America where Muslims should think less about teaching Islam and "our good side" and more about being American and fulfilling our responsibilities to confront the ideology of our enemies.
Khan and Rauf avoid discourse on reform and political Islam. Instead, they simply give us the familiar, too vague condemnation of "extremism and violence." They seem to conveniently view 9/11, al Qaeda and every manifestation of militant Islamism as simply a public-relations problem for "Muslims in the West." Imam Rauf has even gone so far as to bizarrely say that the 9/11 terrorists were "not Muslims."]

Yesterday on AM 770 WABC radio in NYC, Aaron Klein played a tape interview with the controversial imam that somehow raised $100 million, and charmed NY idiot politicians (I repeat myself) to allow this affront to the memories of 3,000 murdered Americans.

From what I hear in NYC the Community Board has given it’s blessing to the mosque. [Community Boards consist of volunteers appointed by the local politicians {liberals}].
The Department of Buildings is strictly concerned with building structure, not usage as a mosque is a “community facility”.
The entire decision rests with Landmarks and I honestly do not see them landmarking what is basically a dilapidated tenement building.
I fear the process is too far along to be stopped legally.

The muslim leader of such proposed mosque refused to classify either Hamas or Hezbollah as terror groups and even refused to say that there is any such definable thing as terrorism. NYC was against terror trials because of temporary security concerns, but a permanent victory symbol visited by terrorist wannabes in the heart of downtown would be ok? What if they made this building in the shape of a crescent pointing to Mecca, in the name of interfaith goodwill, would that be ok too, Mayor Bloomberg?

Unfortunately this is so typical of the behavior of Muslims, that yes it is unsurprising. They have this unquestioned belief in their own superiority and so they have no qualms about forcing themselves, their centers, their laws on us as if they think that once we are forced to accept them, then we will appreciate the gift they have given us.

I swear, if this thing gets built, a huge accident needs to happen to it (when the building is empty of course). That is something they should understand loud and clear. Most any other religious facility in the US is financed from within. If there is any flow of funds, it is TO the Vatican, not from, in the case of RC’s.
It’s only in the case of islam that we see foreign countries spending billions building their religion in our midst, and in fact in all the countries of the West.

Peggy, I don’t agree with you– but I appreciate fact that you thought twice about advocating violence, and decided it was a mistake. That’s important. Antilbr, on the other hand, sounds like a terrorist himself. “Burn, baby, burn”? FBI, take note.
P.S. If you don’t live in a diverse city like NYC, maybe it didn’t occur to you that a lot of people working in the WTC were Muslim– and Americans. American Muslims have as much right as anyone else to be part of New York City in 2010. Unity in diversity, e pluribus unum– that’s the American way.
