Radical Far Left Dem Jan Schakowsky Says Public Option Will Reduce Deficit

Do you remember when Rep. Jan Schakowsky bragged that Obama’s nationalized health care plan would destroy the insurance industry?
Now this radical leftist is out telling supporters that the public option will reduce Obama’s record deficit.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) said Saturday that serious deficit hawks ought to get behind a new “robust” public option bill that she and more than a hundred other members introduced days ago.
In an interview with Raw Story at the Netroots Nation conference, Schakowsky predicted that a new “focus on deficit reduction” and rising public distrust of the insurance industry would generate stronger support for it among members of Congress.
“We’ve seen the cost [savings], and we’ve seen the behavior of the insurance companies,” she said. “I think that really puts a new atmosphere on the prospects for a new public option.”
Sure it will, Jan.
Just like the original bill helped reduce the deficit.

human nature always has us looking for things that promise much more than they actually deliver. there is no such thing as quick fix and most things with positive effects also carry negative side effects. one thing comes at the expense of the other. set up a barebones health care system and when big government takes the reins they through everything including the kitch sink thus turning a compassionate venture into a mega sinkhole…

The only thing better would have been decking her. Alright, it’s a joke in case any of you leftists are reading this. I don’t want to be labeled violent. It’s ok to fantasize about it though. Maybe a voodoo doll? I’ll get one of her, Obama, Pelosi and Reid. Oh what I can do with that…..They forget, they’re outnumbered. There are 300 million of us, against only hundreds of them. Perhaps Ms. Schakowsky should read Drudge today about what the Brits are planning to save their healthcare program. The NHS is already the largest employer in Britain (third largest in the world, after the Red Chinese army and the Indian National Railway), and is their largest single budget item.
“Elective” surgeries, like knee and hip replacements, and end of life care, are seen as targets for saving money.
Sucks to get old in Old Blighty. And it’s coming here, too, if Schakowsky gets her way. The way I see it, it’s as predictable as the roaring deficits it will cause.

Well what do you know, another community organizer from Thugtown — who Wiki calls “by some accounts the most liberal member of the current US Congress.”
Schakowski’s path to DC included the founding of National Consumers Unite, a stint as the Program Director for Illinois Public Action, a turn as Executive Director of the Illinois State Council of Senior Citizens, and eight years in the Illinois House of Representatives.
Since this proud statist no doubt cares deeply for those country class seniors she was organizing, this is undoubtedly a very SPECIAL public option. Call it the “unicorn option” if you will. One that will not just reduce the deficit, but will also improve care for seniors as well. No rationing here. No sir.
