Obama Will Skip Boy Scout 100 Year Anniversary Jamboree – Will Appear on "The View" That Day Instead

Barack Obama will skip the Boy Scout 100 year Anniversary Jamboree…
Instead he will travel to New York City to appear on “The View.”
Maybe they’ll call him “sexy” again?
The last three presidents spoke in person at the jamboree.
CNS News reported:
President Barack Obama, the honorary chairman of the Boy Scouts of America, will not speak in-person before the group on Wednesday at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, as part of the organization’s 100th anniversary celebration. However, the president is sending a videotaped message to the scouts for Wednesday, the same day he will be in Manhattan to tape an appearance for ABC TV’s talk show “The View.”
Bob Dries, chairman of national news and media at the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree – a gathering that happens every four years and attracts thousands of scouts from around the world – told CNSNews.com that the organization was told on Monday that the president had scheduling conflicts and would not be speaking in-person at the week-long event…
…Obama’s three predecessors spoke at the event – George H. W. Bush in 1989 and Bill Clinton in 1998 in-person, and George W. Bush who spoke via video in 2001 when bad weather prevented him from traveling. George W. Bush did speak in-person at the 2005 Jamboree.

Scouts Pledge.

My Eagle Scout son is there and as an African-American I would have been thrilled to have my son see Obama speak. Now, yet again, I am ashamed.

Guy – #9: I couldn’t agree with you more. It is a blessing he won’t be there. My son, an Eagle Scout, is there, and it would have been an insult to the 40,000+ Scouts there to have this disgraceful man address these fine, upstanding, honorable individuals. Bush, Cheney, McCrystal – almost anyone who has been a true leader would be a better choice!

* Several previous presidents — including conservative hero Ronald Reagan — did not address a Boy Scouts jamboree in person.

President Obama participated in Scouting in Indonesia, and has supported Scouting prior to and since his inauguration as president. He serves as the Honorary President of the Boy Scouts of America, and alone among presidents since Calvin Coolidge, Obama has actually met with Scouts to discuss policy in the White House.

Why am I not surprised? Yet another example of the left’s and obama’s hostility towards traditional American values. The Boy Scouts may have been created in the UK, but it might as well have been invented right here in America since it reflects all of our founding principles so perfectly.
I guess the left is not yet satisified with their efforts to turn the Boy Scouts (one of the last remaining bastions of institutionalized conservatism in America) into yet another one of their tentacles that they use to reach into the lives of our youth and then brainwash them into being good little neo-communists that votes Democrap when they grow up.
Lord knows they’ve been trying though. I’m in my early 20s, and when I was in the Boy Scouts their twisted and perverted social engineering had already crept in. Scout Masters were no longer allowed to even sleep on the same floor in a hotel with other Scouts; lest they instantly turn into child molestors…
Sadly, in the years since I left (mid to late 1990s) they’ve made far more “progress” in their agenda of infiltrating and “reforming” the Boy Scouts of America and turning it into yet another one of their leftist indoctrination camps – of which I very depressingly saw first hand recently.
I decided to do some volunteer work with my old Scout Troop last year since I looked back so fondly on my time in the Scouts; only to discover that it had been totally hijacked by far left obama supporters – there’s been a huge influx of deranged lefties into my area of Northern Virginia thanks to the insane increase in federal spending (which hires tons of of left leaning federal employees).
The kids didn’t wear their uniforms correctly anymore, they weren’t quiet when they were supposed to be, “reverent” was taken out of the Scout Law, half of their “outings” seemed to be trips to amusement parks, they were no longer allowed to carry knives, they were no longer allowed to practice making fires, they were no longer allowed to use guns or hunt, and scouting trips were cancelled if rain was forecasted… I was so disgusted.
The next day I asked my neighbor (who used to be one of the Scout leaders in my old Troop and who also worked in the Reagan White House and is former military PSYOP) what the hell had happened. And he confirmed what I had suspected when he told me that the sudden influx of liberal parents from California, New York, etc, over the last few years had completely ruined Scouting here. He told me this latest generation of liberal parents had absolutely zero parenting skills and that our country was basically doomed in his view.
And I couldn’t agree more. It was such an eye opening lesson on the affects of liberalism on our society and I’ll never forget it. I grew up as a liberal myself and it wasn’t until my late teens that I finally saw the light and became a conservative. But I was primarily a fiscal and foreign policy conservative around then and socially liberal. Well, not anymore! After that traumatizing experience I’m now a staunch social conservative as well.
I still find it hard to believe how quickly leftists can ruin an entire community in less than 10 flipping years (just look at Detroit as the textbook example). They’re like a quickly growing cancer that swiftly destroys all that is good from within. And the only way to get rid of it is to go nuclear – as Andrew Breitbart and other former leftists have done after going through somewhat similar experiences themselves.
