The former civil rights group known as the NAACP does not just invite anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan and radical America-hating Marxist Jeremiah Wright to speak at their events…
They also invite government officials who hate whitey, too.
Georgia Director of Rural Development Shirley Sherrod, who was appointed last year by Obama’s Agriculture Secretary, admits in a speech at the NAACP that she discriminated against farmers because they were white.
Of course, the audience did not even bat an eye.

Big Government has uncovered video from the NAACP Freedom Fund dinner in Georgia showing a federal appointee describing her racist behavior toward a white farmer in need of federal assistance. The NAACP has yet to renounce her behavior.
Earlier in her speech, she talks about the inherent job security that comes with a government job: “Have you heard of anybody in the federal government losing their job?

When my two boys graduated from college in the eighties and sought jobs they were told repeatedly that “we, have not met our quotas yet.” In other words, “take a hike, whitey.” The situation has not improved. One went into sales and the other worked up in scut jobs to finally be hired in an engineering position with Hewlett-Packard.

If a bureaucrat feels that a public expression of racial bias is acceptable, and takes the opportunity to regale a public audience with a tale demonstrating to reasonable people how her racial prejudices affect her public duties, I think the American public are right to ask why does she feel so comfortable doing what she did, and expressing what she expressed ?
Given the video, the American public is right to fear that there is widespread racial bias at this agency if it is so pervasive that bureaucrats have no compunction about expressing it in public, and, indeed, seek public affirmation for so doing.

This piece of stupidity puts me in mind of an event several years ago. A young woman who worked in my bulding was going to her car on a parking lot a block from our building. She had to go down a short area between two buildings to get there. Four young black guys were loitering in that area. She started not to go there but didn’t want them to think she was afraid of them so she went down there. They raped her continuously for hours. So Obama can take his crap and ram it. I absolutely hate to be the one to say this but if you listen carefully to the end of the video it seems that Sherrod is using this incident to illustrate how her thinking has changed. The incident w/the white farmer happened 26 yrs ago and it seems that she may be using it to illustrate how she used to view things in terms of race and how working with this farmer helped her see a different side of things. She implies that she now sees it’s based on need not race. That is good, isn’t it?
Don’t get me wrong – I think the NAACP is a hideously racist organization and I think that her not doing all she could do for this farmer because of his race is disgusting. Racism is racism. Period. And the fact that the NAACP members in the audience are cheering at her racist actions makes me want to vomit. HOWEVER, it seems clear that her goal in telling that story was NOT to brag about not helping the white farmer – it was actually to illustrate that she later realized she’d been wrong. We’re all so very angry at the unfair racist labels being thrown at Tea Party Patriots – lets not lower ourselves to their level by joining them in mis-labeling this video.

Of course, Breitbart didn’t bother tracking down the farmer in question to actually ask how he felt about this. Didn’t ask for comment from Ms. Sherrod. He didn’t even post a transcript in its entirety so we could see where she was going with this story. He simply decided to blurt this out there, no matter the consequences, hoping to score points against an organization that Ms. Sherrod doesn’t represent.
We teach three-year old children finer propriety and superior moral conduct than the displays we’ve seen here, and I expect more from men and women with social and political power, Breitbart and Sherrod included.

Big Al: No, it is not good if Sherrod’s view evolved from a purely racist position to one based on economic disparity (i.e. haves and have-nots). I find this equally offensive and alarming. So she evolved from discriminating against people along racial lines to having a bias against those who were more economically well-off? This sounds like Zimbabwe to me. Sounds like she advanced in her thinking to a more compassionate, post -racial “redistribute the wealth” position.
