The media pressed John F. Kerry yesterday about docking his new yacht in Rhode Island to avoid paying taxes in Massachusetts.
My FOX Boston reported:

There are new details in the controversy over Sen. John Kerry’s brand new boat.

Kerry may still be on the hook for a half million dollars in excise taxes because he docked his yacht in Massachusetts less than six months after buying it.

The controversy came up following a report that Kerry moored the multi-million dollar yacht in Rhode Island , rather than the Bay State to save on sales tax.

  1. The headline says he was confronted by the press, yet the article makes no mention of what he was asked and how he responded. How misleading!!

  2. $500,000 for sales and i read $70,000 for excise. so kerry-ish… i guess john didn’t really
listen to joe – paying taxes is patriotic…

  3. What will his good buddy Scottie Brown think about this?

  4. John Kerry; not so ‘Swift Boating’ again!

When the truth comes out, it always hurts those that ‘care’ the most.

  5. [Kerry, one of the wealthiest members of the Senate, has yet to see a tax hike he would vote against. He..] and this is the meat of the
argument….taxes for thee but not for me.

  6. Andrew, did you watch the video? Don’t try to Brietbart GP!

  7. Row, row row your boat gently down the stream,
Kerry, Kerry, Kerry, Kerry, a progressives worst wet dream!

  8. So the excessive taxes in Massachusetts are only for those citizens who are not sufficiently wealthy to escape the states reach.

  9. But Senator, shouldn’t the rich pay their fair share? Oh, I forgot for a second, that’s only for the rubes consumption at election time. Depends on who owns it huh? Don’t worry yet though Senator, the msm is still in full Democrat protection mode, your protection is holding; for now. Just don’t get Andrew on your case, you stupid schlub.

  10. Will Kerry claim he is being Swift-Yachted?

Mr. Kerry, just ask yourself what Jenjis Khan would do.

  11. It’s interesting how people like Kerry get up and crow about how we are on the brink of destruction from global warming and then go hop on a yacht.

  12. I was about to say Thank God he was not elected POTUS. Sadly, I suspect he would have been an improvement over the current disaster.

  13. Also why not go after the MA state legislators to repeal the excise or use taxes so that the docking business can be brought home to MA. Prob talking millions of dollars in dock fees and repairs and service and, yes, jobs!
    Taxes drive business away.

  14. much like this bozo although on a vastly smaller scale. voting to tax the little people while you avoid the same.

  15. Kerry trusts the gov. to spend/invest your $, but not you. No, the productive citizen can’t be trusted according to Kerry:

  16. The Skipper said “We’ll pay our taxes. We always pay our taxes.” WE? What’s this we stuff? I guess the Skipper is going to have to ask Theresa to write a check for him. Now shut up and go back to work. You’ve got taxes to pay. And if you don’t pay you’ll go to jail. The Skipper? He’s your better. He’s one of them. You know, “The Ruling Class”. He can do pretty much what he wants. He writes laws that are meant for you. Not him.

  17. Actually, I’d do the exact same thing if I were rich (As long as there is no law against what he did). It’s smart to keep your own money. But, if I was in charge of making up new taxes, I’d also vote them down every single time. So, Mr. Kerry is a huge hypocrit. Period.

  18. “The controversy came up following a report that Kerry moored the multi-million dollar yacht in Rhode Island , rather than the Bay State to save on sales tax.”

Huh? Mass has a 6.25% sales tax rate (it may have been lower when Kerry bought the boat). Rhode Island has a 7% rate. How is Kerry saving on sales taxes by having the boat docked in RI?
