This is insane…
A federal judge allowed Mexico to have a voice in the Arizona Immigration Lawsuit today.
KOLD reported, via Free Republic:
Mexico gets to have a say in 1 of the lawsuits challenging Arizona’s immigration enforcement law.
A federal judge on Thursday granted Mexico’s request to be allowed to file a legal brief supporting the challenge. That means the judge will consider the brief Mexico submitted previously.
Mexico says it wants to defend its citizens’ rights and that the law would lead to racial profiling and hinder trade and tourism. It also says the law would hinder work against drug trafficking and related violence.
The law’s provisions include a requirement that police enforcing another law ask people about their immigration status if there’s a “reasonable suspicion” they’re in the country illegally.
The law takes effect July 29 unless blocked by a court.

How much do you want to bet he finds this constitutional bill unconstitutional. Mexico is to have a say on a bill passed in the State of Arizona, is this judge on crack, or just plain stupid.
Logus commented:
Considering that our courts have had a history of ignoring the Constitution, often contradicting the Constitution, I would not be surprised at all if Arizona’s law is blocked and worse, struck down.
Obama’s speech, while on occassion reaching out to those of us who’re for a secure border and following the law, was another failure. Nothing but shamwow platitudes.

This is starting to get comical. It’s is so bad we are unable to try the man. In another time, Obama would already be pushing up daisy via the gallows.

Hypothetically speaking, if he was to be proved to not be legally in office, then we could do something fast, but our own side for some reason is hindering us.

The US had better sue Mexico over Mexico’s illegal immigrant policy, because it is blatantly and unabashedly discriminatory, persecuting immigrants if they disrupt the racial balance of the population.
Mexico is trying to protect its illegal (and legal) Mexican immigrants in the United States… however the United States government just ceded part of Arizona to Mexican drug gangs and won’t do anything to protect American citizens inside the borders of the United States. There’s something very wrong with this picture.
Barack Obama is the king of reverse discrimination.
down with dems commented:
It won’t be possible to get enough votes in the Senate for an impeachment conviction (even if the impeachment charge were to pass in the House) until after at least 2 election cycles. Hopefully after the next 2 elections, Obama will have lost his bid for re-election and it will be moot. If not, then game on.

Hey. Any Constitutional lawyers out there?
What does the 11th amendment to the Constitution mean (below) for Mexico’s participation in this legal challenge?

11th Immunity of states from suits from out-of-state citizens and foreigners not living within the state borders. Lays the foundation for sovereign immunity.

If Mexico is so concerned about their citizens treatment in our country. Then why not treat them better instead of shipping them over here? Funny, but Mexico itself has stringent immigration policies — so they have no business insinuating themselves in ours.
A town in Texas which is separated from Mexico by a small river had gun shots fired into its courthouse. To hell with what Mexico thinks — we need to control our borders.

America is too big to fail. Just wait and see.
In the meantime, there is a lot of desert sand in the African Sahara, those of us who don’t like what they are seeing now and do anything about it (like a Second Revolution!!), can go there and hide their heads in the sand because it’s going to get worse in this freaking country!

From your article:
For the first time, Pacific Crest Trail hikers are being warned that people who hike across the border from Canada into the United States are committing a federal crime, and risking a year in jail and a $5,000 fine.
and
Danielle Suarez, Border Patrol spokeswoman in Spokane, said the letter is an effort to educate hikers that everyone entering the United States must go to a designated port of entry — even hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail.
Therefore, under equal protection of the law, hikers crossing the border from Mexico into the United States are committing a federal crime, and risking a year in jail and a $5,000 fine.
and
Everyone entering the United States must go to a designated port of entry — even hikers from Mexico.
So, the lawsuit is on behalf of criminals, as based on the federal government’s own communications.
Case dismissed.

It’s my understanding Mexico is filing an “amicus curiae” (friend of the court) brief, which the judge may at his/her discretion refer to for an understanding of the impact of circumstances surrounding the matter being adjudicated.
At this point, I don’t think we have a foreign nation bringing suit against one of our states — not just yet, anyway. (Although I wouldn’t put it past this “Gee, we LIKE the idea of World Governance” Administration.)

Obama praises Bush — really — on immigration
Obama — who has been criticized by conservatives for “blaming” all sorts of problems on President George W. Bush — had nothing but praise for his successor today on the immigration issue.
The current president lamented the fact that in past years Congress has failed to come up with a new immigration plan, “despite the courageous leadership in the past shown by many Democrats and some Republicans — including, by the way, my predecessor, President Bush.”

Like A Nonny Mouse I think the concern here may be overblown. All the judge apparently agreed to do was to read a legal brief from the Mexicans. That may be a simple act of courtesy on the judge’s part, that is in no way a deference to foreign law.
Of course, we do need to be vigilant since there are those (are you reading, Arizona’s own Sandra Day O’Connor?) who have taken a position, anathema to most of us, that foreign laws and foreign precedent should be considered.
If that is what this judge has in mind, pitchforks, tar and feathers are in order. But if the judge is simply agreeing to read the sincere opinion of a party that is legitimately concerned, I see courtesy rater than treason.
We need more information.

To further contrast what’s going on at the northern border as opposed to the southern border, the Canadian hikers being hikers, they most likely intend to hike their way back home to Canada. In other words, they ain’t coming here to live; they’re just out walking.

Perhaps you and A Nonny Mouse are right. Perhaps, even, the judge is only allowing the brief to be filed because s/he doesn’t want to unnecessarily tick off those against AZ, particularly the illegal Mexicans in AZ, when it’s just as easy to allow the brief to be filed and then disregard its contents.
I’d like to believe that’s the case but after Oilbama allowing Mexican President Cow-drone to speak against AZ on the White House lawn and then Oilbama and the Demonrats standing and applauding Mexico’s president’s anti-Arizona speech, well, it’s difficult to think this is anything except more coddling of Mexico and Mexican illegals as well as more anti-AZ BS.
AuntieMadder commented:
Mexico says it wants to defend its citizens’ rights and that the law would lead to racial profiling and hinder trade and tourism.
Tourism? Via Arizona? Is that Arizonan tourists visiting Mexico or Mexican tourists in AZ? Oh! I get it! “Tourists” is what Arizonans are supposed to start calling the illegals living in their state.
It also says the law would hinder work against drug trafficking and related violence.
Right. Sure. wink wink nudge nudge Surely, no one would ever wonder if Mexico’s officials and Mexican law enforcement don’t actually work to help drug trafficking and aren’t actually the cause of at least some of the violence. No, not them. Everyone knows they’re stand up guys and gals, pillars of the global community, righteous men and women. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

2. Learn to grow food.
3. Learn to can.
4. Save glass jars (for canning/storing food) and other implements for storing water.

I wonder if Mexico would let us file a law suit or have a voice in law suit, in all the civil rights violations that go on in their croupt little Country ?
And why don’t we ever see all these Hispanic’s that want to protest Arizona and America’s Anti-Illegal alien Laws ever protesting about all the civil rights violations in Mexico ?
I guess because they are truly just Anti-America, and really not even concerned about human rights especially the human rights of their own people in their own Country of Mexico.
Seems all they really care about is right of Illegals to invade a Country and deny that Country’s people their right of Sovereignty of their own Country.

Seems to me that ANY brief would need to be addressed by the oposite party. This will mean that Arizona has to now prepare responses to that brief.
Looks to me that the acceptance of this brief by this judge should be appealed by Arizona.
Is this an IMPARTIAL judge or does this judge have an AGENDA in this case? In my opinion, accepting evidence from a foreign government in this case leaves his integrity in question.
