It’s Time to Tax Whitey–

Dems impose a 10% surcharge on the use of ultraviolet indoor tanning beds. White folks feel burned.
The Washington Post reported:
The sun hasn’t exactly set on Solar Planet, but anxiety over the fate of the Arlington tanning salon has been running high ever since a “tan tax” took effect Thursday.
One of the less publicized measures in the new health-care law, the tax imposes a 10 percent surcharge on the use of ultraviolet indoor tanning beds.
Supporters — including the Obama administration, congressional Democrats and dermatologists — have argued that the tax will raise an estimated $2.7 billion toward the cost of expanding health coverage to the uninsured, while discouraging a practice that increases the risk of skin cancer by as much as threefold in frequent users, according to scientific research.
But outraged tanning salon owners worry that the levy could deal a death blow to an industry already reeling from the recession.
“In 26 years of business this is the worst I’ve seen it,” said Scott Shortnacy, owner of the Arlington Solar Planet as well as six other branches in the Washington area. “Normally for people who tan, it’s a part of their lifestyle. They keep doing it even in a recession. But everybody has been looking for ways to cut back on those areas. … Our sales are down 20 to 30 percent.”
Ma Pelosi’s got to pay for her socialism.

I wonder if this tax could be successfully challenged on racial grounds? Does inequitable effect give cause? That would be interesting case in light of the DOJ’s actions in the Black Panther case, wouldn’t it!

If a tax was levied on malt liquor or watermelon, Jesse & Al would scream racism.

I think I’ve known only one individual who bothered with a tanning salon. She was a Hispanic woman married to a black football player who did not feel that she was dark enough for him, so she tanned daily to make sure that she was. Sad. . . .

What ticks me off is simply this. These idiots in congress think they can tax whatever legal product or service they want at whatever rate they damned well please.
Why are the republicans and legal foundations suing the governmet for disciminating practices.
How is it legal to tax any legal product or service at a higher rate than any other legal product???
Why is a legal pack of cigarettes or a tanning session taxed more than a car ?Cars “kill” more people than tans or smokes. How is it that liberals get to decide which legal items are ok to use and or tax at higher rates than other?
That no different than charging a rich person $10 for the same burger thats $3 for a poor person. Or taxing blacks higher rates than whites, chinese or mexicans etc. If those people are here legally shouldnt they all pay the same for the burger , income tax etc etc etc.
Its time to sue these freaks and vote them out of office if not charge them with treason and unfair law practices at the very least.
Liberals are leaches on the ass of society.

Not going to be the last tax hike. Just wait. Soon you’ll be taxed like we in Europe. And here, despite all the taxes, all EU countries are bankrupt. Right, so they don’t call it “bankrupt”, but when you look at the national debt and the deficit in the annual budget of every single EU country, what other word would fit except “bankrupt”?
Despite all the taxes the money is not enough. Even though the politicians force people to pay up to 20% VAT on a loaf of bread.

The tax on tanning beds is only a beginning.
People of ill will always begin their bad actions against something or someone that some people don’t like. It concentrates its effects on an unpopular minority (like smokers) so that a precedent, which would otherwise fail on more general grounds, can be established.

Once again the failed logic of the left. Tax an activity to decrease it’s usage while touting the windfall they will get from taxing it…huh?

May I ask what is the address tanning salons are supposed to send their confiscations-oops meant taxes to? The federal government-oops meant chief wealth stealers-redistribusitionists now need to open the Office of Tanning taxes (otherwise known as -we care about your health and you must pay for your trangressions) in order to make it equitable, hurry hurry the IRS needs to hire thousands more to catch these tax cheats!

liberals always know better. just trust them to make all the decisions and you will live a longer, happier life. for example, pol pot brought a lot of smiles to 1 to 3 million faces. i am sure congress and obama are working equally as hard.

What is so hilarious about these Demtards and their tax-schemes is that they base everything on “absolutes”. The sales of soda in NYC over a calendar year, the revenue of tanning booths across the US in a year, cigarettes, etc. What these idiots do not get is that when the taxes go into effect, the revenue begins to decrease as the number of times to go back and purchase the same thing decreases. This does not apply to everything, however, a 10% tax or increase in the price, during these times is felt. Just like when they raise the price of smokes by a couple of bucks and wonder why “revenue” drops.
Progressives always think counter intuitively on topics regarding business, tax, etc.
Perhaps if we just apply “fairness” across the board and tax everyone at a flat single digit tax. Not a VAT, but a flat tax on final goods sold.
Oh well. These clods won’t listen to reason.

Where is the ACLU? This is no different than the “poll” taxes of the past that were targeted to Blacks. A tanning bed tax is only going to affect whites!!!!Discrimination is discrimination!!!!

Seriously, all the white people should get out and move to some white country like France or Canada while they’ve still got their lives and treasure. HURRRY~
