That’s the tactic: opposition to statism is attributed to a race-hate motive. In other words, no honest person could possibly oppose their statist goals.
They know this is not true, but cynically dismiss all dissent as racism. Which is their way of making a race-based attack on their political opponents.
Amazing, really, that they are doing exactly what they are falsely accusing Tea Party Patriots of doing. The media can’t call it, because they do it too. But people are seeing. For the first time in a long time, people are seeing.
Chisum commented:
As usual, CNN is behind the curve. Even the NYT has acknowledged this:
“he Political Times column last Sunday, about a generational divide over racial attitudes, erroneously linked one example of a racially charged statement to the Tea Party movement. While Tea Party supporters have been connected to a number of such statements, there is no evidence that epithets reportedly directed in March at Representative John Lewis, Democrat of Georgia, outside the Capitol, came from Tea Party members.”

“They created this.. they needed to elevate MARXISTS just a little higher than us to make them think they was so much better and then they would never work with us to try to change the situation that they were all in.”
See, Sherrod’s words actually ring true if you replace the word “whites” with the names of today’s hyperactive wrongdoers: marxists in general, government class apparatchiks, “elite” media blowhards, liberal academics, liberation theology cultists… etc.
No, Sherrod doesn’t recognize the harm those people do, often enough by force of law. Heck, she’s one of them! Nope, she urges her listeners to blame whites. CNN defends people who think like that. CNN thinks like that.

We we object to the government borrowing and spending $787B on a stimulus that we said wouldn’t work and now that we’ve been proven right, we are racists?
When we opposed the bailout of the banks, Wall Street, and the auto industry because it amounted to an unwise intrusion of government into the private sector, we are racists?
When we objected to the government takeover of the healthcare system because, based on experiences in Canada, UK and Massachusetts, it results in higher costs and lower quality, it would gut Medicare and put a bureaucrat between patient and doctor, we are racists?
When we opposed the cap & trade as another huge, job killing federal tax that would not reduce emissions of CO2 (as if that were a problem) and would have zero effect on climate change, we are racists?
When Nancy Pelosi and her democrat leadership marched through a Tea Party demonstration to taunt the protesters over ramming healthcare down their throats and they did not react (despite a false claim by Congressman John Lewis) we are racists?
When the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People convention passed a resolution condemning all the above racism, someone played a tape of a black government official laughing along with her NAACP audience about discriminating against a white farmer she was hired to assist and the NAACP and their democrat enablers accuse the Tea Party organizations of being racist?
Now that the NAACP and the CNN and the democrat party has explained it to us simple folks, there is clearly racism here.

You got me, I’m a Tea Partier and, therefore by any progressives’s definition, I am a racist. According to progressives, I am a racist because I hate essentially all of Obama’s policies. According to progressives, I am a racist because I don’t particularly like the president….it’s pretty hard to like a man whose sole intent is to sap freedom from each and every American and place the responsibility for those stolen freedoms in the hands of government bureaucrats. Progressives believe I am racist because I hate the fact that Obama does not seem to be serious in protecting us from terrorists or protecting our borders from invading illegal aliens. Progressives say I am racist because I hate the fact that Obama spends our money like a drunken sailor and constantly disrespects and undermines the private sector where jobs are created and from which taxes are paid.
I could go on and on as to why I hate Obama and all he stands for. But suffice it to say that if these things make me a racist then I am damn proud of being one and am going to continue to work as hard as I can to see that the president and his party lose power as quickly as posssible. Yes, if that sentiment makes me a racist, so be it. And I think the progressives will be surprised to find how many other racists will vote to remove them from power in November!

Race-baiting clowns like this Ballentine guy are marginalizing racism so that real racism will be meaningless or ignored. After all, their standard for calling someone racist has been reduced to simply disagreeing with a black person or even simply disagreeing with a party led by a black person. More importantly, it illustrates how desperate the Left is to keep power…power that they see becoming significantly diminished in the next 5-6 months. Resorting to the racism charge only shows that the facts are not on their side in appealing to the majority of the country.
This has to be especially galling to the voters that are moderate or even conservative but decided to vote for Obama in ’08 and are now being called racist because they oppose the guy they voted for based on his actions since he took office.

Remarkably, the designation of everything non-racist as racist is an important and necessary step towards a post-racial society. It’s impossible to return to pre-racial conditions (where we had no concept of race), so the only post-racial state is one where everything is racist (and subsequently the designation is meaningless).
In this respect, the left is helping us more than they’d ever anticipate. We can further the destruction of race-as-differential-identifier: use “racist” interchangeably with “lame,” “broken,” “inept,” etc. “These taxes are racist!” “That show was so lame it was racist.” “What a racist horse. I lost $50.” and so on.
Drive it into the dirt and society will no longer find it a resonant concept.

On Racism and Republicans
[The history of racism in this country --
who is responsible for it and who is responsible for fighting it.]
The Rise & Fall of Jim Crow
[The Democratic Party identified itself as the "white man's party"
and demonized the Republican Party as being "Negro dominated,"
even though whites were in control.
Determined to re-capture the South, Southern Democrats "redeemed" state after state -- sometimes peacefully, other times by fraud and violence. By 1877, when Reconstruction was officially over, the Democratic Party controlled every Southern state.
The South remained a one-party region until the Civil Rights movement began in the 1960s. Northern Democrats, most of whom had prejudicial attitudes towards blacks, offered no challenge to the discriminatory policies of the Southern Democrats.]

Be Civil? … by Frances Rice
It’s a sure sign that Republicans are winning a debate on issues when Democrats, aided by well-meaning civility police pundits and activists, demand that Republicans stop showing their passion and “be civil.”
I am still waiting for those with such a keen sense of civility to demand that Democrats cease their unrelenting and uncivil, even racist, attacks on black Republicans. I won’t hold my breath.
High on the Democrats’ list of those to be denigrated are accomplished black Republicans who do not toe the Democrats’ liberal agenda line. Shamefully, Democrats do not want poor black children to have as role models any black person who does not engage in victim mongering and works hard to become prosperous rather than become dependent on government handouts.
The message that Democrats gives to poor blacks is despicable. If you remain poor, uneducated and vote for Democrats, we will celebrate
your victimhood. If you get a good education, get a good job and vote
for Republicans, we will denigrate you as “acting white,” a “sellout”,
an “Uncle Tom”, a “House Negro”, a “House N-word”, a “Lawn Jockey”,
and worse.
Brazenly, on the left-wing Internet website called “The News Blog,” Democrats posted a doctored photograph of then Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele (now chairman of the RNC) when he was running for a Senate seat, depicting Steele as a “Simple Sambo” with a blackened minstrel-style face, nappy hair and big, think red lips. The cartoon caption read: “Simple Sambo wants to move to the big house.” This contemptible racist stereotype is the same one Democrats used to demean black men during the era of slavery and segregation.
In addition to other outrageous racist images of Dr. Condoleezza Rice produced by several Democrats, cartoonist Jeff Danziger depicted Dr. Rice as an ignorant, barefoot “mammy”, reminiscent of the stereotyped black woman in the movie “Gone with the Wind” about the slave era black woman who remarked: “I don’t know nothin’ ’bout birthin’ no babies”. This is the type of racist stereotype Democrats used to demean black women during the era of slavery and segregation.
Democrats now love Gen. Colin Powell, but spewed out racist attacks
on Powell before he endorsed Obama and embraced the liberal agenda
of higher taxes and a bigger government to provide poverty producing handouts to blacks.
A video was shot by WKRN Video Journalist Beau Fleenor at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee that shows Al Sharpton demeaning Gen. Powell and Dr. Rice, when Sharpton was asked to give his opinions about whether Powell and Rice were “House Negroes”. That video can be found on the Internet.
An article that appeared in a Portland, Oregon paper was one of many exposing how hardly a ripple of protest was made by black Democrats when Harry Belafonte publicly denounced Gen. Powell as a “House Negro”.
With impunity, the late Democrat Senator Ted Kennedy called black judicial nominees, including Judge Janice Rogers Brown, “Neanderthals.” Democrat Senator Harry Reid slurred Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as an incompetent Negro who could not write good English. “Slap at Thomas stinks of racism,” was the headline of the New York Daily News’ December 7, 2004 editorial.
Even black Democrats will be maligned if they dare step off of the Democratic Party’s political plantation. When black Democrat Juan Williams wrote his book entitled “Enough: The Phony Leaders, Dead
-end Movements and Culture of Failure That Are Undermining Black America” that exposed the deplorable conditions in black communities caused by the Democrats running those communities, Williams was denounced on national TV by another black Democrat as a “Happy Negro”.
For details about how Democrats during the 1960′s even smeared Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who was a Republican, see the article posted on the NBRA website. “Civility, Ours and Theirs” is an article that provides more details about how Democrats vilify black Republicans while wagging their finger at Republicans about being civil. Our political discourse can be elevated to the high standards demanded by the civility police only when Democrats are also required to play by the rules of civility.

Patti commented:
The greatest percentage of American citizens are opposed to reparations-it simply will not fly. This is in no way on account that most of us don’t find the idea of slavery as reprehensible as the enslaved and can only imagine the human suffering involved,we recognize what a criminal (unjust)and hateful institution it is and has been. It is more that none of us living today had a say, or one thing to do with it.Many US citizens came long after it was finished and can, in no way whatsoever, be held accountable for it.
In addition, many of us had ancesters who died in a bloody Civil War to oppose the inhumanity of enslaving another human being and had supported abolition.
I believe the federal government has been commited to the idea of reparations without consent of the people and the Pickford law suit is one means of settling it under the radar -without it becoming common knowledge.Although there certainly are cases deserving an award, I have to question if all cases now involved are equal to them. If someone can show us that, indeed, yes, then that would be the end of it.
I also think there is some possibility that because of these large rewards, they(?) didn’t want attention drawn to Shirley Sherrod, for her to become a known figure to the American public and this may have been the real reason for the rush to take her out of the public domain ?
When the urging for her to resign accomplished the opposite and made her into a household word, they saw the opportunity to not oly deflect but expand and exploit their favourite theme of racism.
In some instances, this becomes a win-win situation for them, at least among those who support the use of the race card.
Furthermore, it gave them another chance to dissuade voters concerning positive outcomes issuing from state rights. A totally lame canard in my view but it will resonate with some.State rights, like the US Constitution, is a roadblock to many of the statist schemes they have been cooking up these past decades for incremental power grabs.
I do not believe for a minute that any of the spokes-persons on the CNN panel have an actual aversion to states rights because of paranoia in regards to Jim Crow today. That is utter nonsense.
Having said this, I will also say this is my opinion, conceived wholly from my own suspicions about a government I personally see trending in the wrong direction and I no longer feel is being truthful or honourable.
