President Barack Obama told graduates at Kalamazoo High School yesterday,

Don’t Make Excuses. Take Responsibility Not Just For Your Successes, But For Your Failures As Well. … It’s The Easiest Thing In The World To Start Looking Around For Someone To Blame.”

By the way– It was a real sleeper.

Obviously, his speech writers forgot who they were writing for.
The Republican Senators whipped up this list after the president’s speech:

ON AMERICA’S CHALLENGES
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “When I Showed Up After Inauguration, They Had Left A Big Mess On The Floor.  So I Got A Mop, And I Started Cleaning Up Their Mess.” (President Obama, Remarks, Norfolk, VA, 10/27/09)

ON THE ECONOMY
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “By Any Measure, My Administration Inherited A Fiscal Disaster.” (President Obama, Remarks, 3/4/09)

ON DEFICITS
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “Now, If We Had Taken Office In Ordinary Times, I Would Have Liked Nothing More Than To Start Bringing Down The Deficit. But We Took Office Amid A Crisis.” (President Obama, State Of The Union Address, 1/27/10)

ON THE ADMINISTRATION’S BUDGET
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “My Budget Does Not Attempt To Solve Every Problem Or Address Every Issue.  It Reflects The Stark Reality Of What We’ve Inherited – A Trillion Dollar Deficit, A Financial Crisis, And A Costly Recession.” (President Obama, Remarks To A Joint Session Of Congress, 2/24/09)

ON DEMOCRAT ELECTORAL LOSSES
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “Here’s My Assessment Of Not Just The Vote In Massachusetts, But The Mood Around The Country… People Are Angry And They Are Frustrated. Not Just Because Of What’s Happened In The Last Year Or Two Years, But What’s Happened Over The Last Eight Years.” (“Exclusive: President Obama Says Voter Anger, Frustration Key to Republican Victory in Massachusetts Senate,” ABC News, 1/20/10)

ON THE OIL SPILL
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “When Interior Secretary Ken Salazar Took Office, For Example, He Found A Minerals And Management Services Agency That Had Been Plagued By Corruption For Years …” (President Obama, Remarks, 6/1/10)

•    OBAMA: “The Habit [At MMS], Predating My Administration, Was You Just Automatically Gave The Environmental Waiver.” (President Obama, Remarks, 5/27/10)

ON HIS ADMINISTRATION’S ECONOMIC ACTIONS
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “We Had To Act Fast.  And Unfortunately We Didn’t Have All The Tools That We Needed To Act Fast Because You Had A Previous Congress And A Previous Administration That Had Left A $1.3 Trillion Deficit Wrapped Up In A Bow That Turned Surpluses Into Deficits As A Consequence Of A Whole Host Of Irresponsible Policies.” (President Obama, Remarks, 5/26/10)

ON AMERICA’S STANDING ABROAD
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “Well, First Of All, During The Campaign I Did Not Say That Some Of That Loss Of Authority Was Inevitable. I Said It Was Traced To Very Specific Decisions That The Previous Administration Had Made That I Believed Had Lowered Our Standing In The World. And That Wasn’t Simply My Opinion; That Was, It Turns Out, The Opinion Of Many People Around The World. I would like to think that with my election and the early decisions that we’ve made, that you’re starting to see some restoration of America’s standing in the world.  And although, as you know, I always mistrust polls, international polls seem to indicate that you’re seeing people more hopeful about America’s leadership.” (President Obama, Press Conference, 4/2/09)

ON AMERICAN HEALTH CARE ABUSES
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “And By The Way, I Don’t Recall Any Of These Republicans Trying To Do Anything About Insurance Companies’ Abuses During All The Years They Were In Charge.” (President Obama, Remarks At St. Charles High School, St. Charles, MO, 3/10/10)

ON GUANTANAMO
PRESIDENT OBAMA: “The Problem Of What To Do With Guantanamo Detainees Was Not Caused By My Decision To Close The Facility; The Problem Exists Because Of The Decision To Open Guantanamo In The First Place.” (President Obama, Remarks On National Security, National Archives, Washington, D.C., 5/21/09)

  1. Do as I say, not do as I do.

That’s how you lead by example… NOT.

  2. Our dear reader does not comprehend what he reads off the teleprompter. It happens a lot, people call them actors, and laugh at them a lot.

  3. Check out the student in the upper right.

  4. ADVERTISEMENT

  5. Don’t make excuses. Just blame George W. Bush, Wall Street fat cats, Israel and BP for your failures.

And always read what your handlers feed you from a teleprompter.

  6. Rules like these are apparently meant to bind the rest of us. People like Obama, and our other would-be aristocratic rulers, don’t have to play by the rules; they never cause bad things to happen, and when bad things happen anyway, they can always blame people on the other side of the divide, like Sarah Palin and George W. Bush.

See, this is why you don’t want elitists like this running things — they never take responsibility. They sometimes SAY “I take full responsibility” but they never fix anything and they always start blaming other people when the criticism starts rolling in. They use “I take full responsibility” the way a little kid says “I’m sorry” — like a talisman to ward off punishment.

  7. “Holy Hypocrisy, Batman!”

or to quote another famous personality:

    “Jumping Jehosophats!”

  8. Bwaah-ha-ha, check out the chick directly behind barry with the eyes WIDE open…
    the thought bubble says,
“must keep eyes open…must keep eyes open”…

  9. But isn’t the entire basis of the Democrat party “It isn’t our fault”? Isn’t that an excuse, especially when it *is* their fault?

  10. Wow….just wow!!

What does this clown think he’s been doing since he took office??

Can’t these schools find appropriate role models to speak to the future of America? Obama is unqualified to be a role model for future generations.

Habitual liars are NOT role models and should not lecture others.

  11. Don’t feel bad sweetie, he puts all of us to sleep.

  12. Well there just can’t be any question about it – you all must be racists that you would dare to attack “I Won”.

See once you get to be president – especially if you “have a funny name and don’t look like other presents presidents – all bets are off!

  13. Ha, he should follow his own advice and resign.

  14. Pot… meet kettle. In the immortal words of Bugs Bunny – “What a maroon”

  15. schizophrenia [(skit-suh-free-nee-uh, skit-suh-fren-ee-uh)]

A form of psychosis marked by a strong tendency to dissociate oneself from reality. Schizophrenia is often characterized by hallucinations, delusions, and inappropriate reactions to situations. The word schizophrenia is often used informally as well as scientifically to indicate a split personality.

  16. You could show him that list of statements he’s made that prove him to be a hypocrite, and he wouldn’t care… he truly believes he can do no wrong, that all he touches turns to gold. It’s not an excuse if it’s true, right???

    BUSH!

  17. It was so interesting watching the kids in the background. Of course, we obviously notice the kid on the right, but notice the girl right beside him; she seems about as interested in what The Won is saying as if it was her parents preaching to her. When you get a glance of the girl right behind Dear Leader’s back, you’ll see her wide-eyed, like she’s trying to keep herself awake. But, you’ll notice when the audience claps, the kid on the right wakes up long enough to automatically clap along. An obamatron in the making!

  18. Wasn’t this jerk looking for someone’s ass to kick if there was a crisis in the Gulf? How long has it been now since he has been blaming Bush for EVERYTHING? This guy is so full of crap – it is unbelievable how he can manage to keep a straight face. I really believe he is more than a pathological liar and narcissist, he is insane.

  19. Maybe his speech writers are having a giggle at Obama’s expense – it would be soooo fun to write Obama’s speeches for him.

  20. what an immature asshat!

  21. down with dems,

You could show him that list of statements he’s made that prove him to be a hypocrite, and he wouldn’t care… he truly believes he can do no wrong, that all he touches turns to gold. It’s not an excuse if it’s true, right???

I honestly think Obama believes what he says/reads at the moment he says/reads anything. It’s just that he has the memory of an amoeba*.

    * With apologies to those amoeba everywhere striving to better their lot in the Earth’s ecosystem.

  22. What a wascally wetard!

Helen Thomas would have kept them awake. They’d have stayed up to see the house land on her.

  23. Is it just me or does he have that italian “el douche” look about him? When you see pictures of “el douche” he sure looks like obama.

  24. Somehow, that advice has more effect coming from a great man who never quit and did his best. A man who appreciated the blessings he has received in life. A man who didn’t get his first professional success until mid-life: John Wooden.

Perhaps the godling ought to take to heart the great John Wooden’s “Two Sets of Threes”:

    1. Never lie.
    2. Never cheat.
    3. Never steal

    1. Don’t whine
    2. Don’t complain
    3. Don’t make excuses

When it came to teamwork The Coach was just as pithy:
Be on time, do not use profanty at any time, and never criticize a teammate.”

The godling could use some pointers on how to acquire leadership skills. No doubt he could benefit from the brilliant pithiness of Coach Wooden. As AP Sports writer, Beth Harris, points out:
He was the master of the simple one- or two-sentence homily, instructive little messages best presented in his famous “Pyramid of Success,” which remains must-read material, not only for fellow coaches but for anyone in a leadership position in American business.

Hmmm…like, maybe running the American nation?

  25. Just can’t do it. Only 33 seconds in and I had to shut him down. Perpetual “outsider” campaign mode. Enough all ready!!!! Queen of Diamonds….who’s the puppet-master?

  26. KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A man has been hospitalized after going into cardiac arrest during President Barack Obama’s speech to high school graduates at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.

  27. The Talking Chimp talks again…and again…and again….

  28. LOOK! The person at the top right of the vid fell asleep to his speechifying. LOL

  29. ++

oh i feel so sorry for both those kids (the one who can’t seem to stay awake except to clap, and the other sort of doing an Obama style nose picking)..

either one of them may never be able to live down being caught on tape like that.. unless, of course, their parents, family & friends love them more than they love Obama, which i’m sure they do..

  30. Tell the president to take his meds. He is high again on Cocaine.
