Unreal. Determined to Destroy Gulf Coast Feds Shut Down Sand Berm Dredging!

The Obama Administration continues to act as if they want the Gulf oil spill to destroy as much of the coastline as possible.
– They have only accepted assistance from 5 of 28 countries.
– It took the Obama Administration 53 days to accept help from the Dutch and British.
– It took 58 days to mobilize the US military to the Gulf.
– They shut down crude-sucking barges due to fire extinguisher concerns.
– They ignore oil boom manufacturers that have miles of product stockpiled in their warehouses.
– They only have moved 5 of 2,000 oil skimmers to the disaster area off of Florida.
– The president continues to hit the golf course, ball games, hold BBQ’s and party while the coast drowns in oil.
And, now the feds are shutting down the sand berm dredging off of the Louisiana coast.

The federal government is shutting down the dredging that was being done to create protective sand berms in the Gulf of Mexico.
The berms are meant to protect the Louisiana coastline from oil. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department has concerns about where the dredging is being done.
Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, who was one of the most vocal advocates of the dredging plan, has sent a letter to President Barack Obama, pleading for the work to continue.
This is not just illogical, it is criminal.

RIO DE JANEIRO, June 11 (Reuters) – Brazil could benefit
from the BP Gulf of Mexico spill as a U.S. moratorium on
offshore drilling boosts available rigs for the country’s deep
water oil exploration program.

The spill has temporarily halted new drilling in the Gulf
of Mexico and Alaska, and has spurred Norway, which 40 years
ago pioneered offshore drilling, to halt new licensing for now.
Brazil’s state oil company Petrobras (PETR4.SA) (PBR.N),
which already produces around a quarter of the world’s deep
water oil, could be an obvious candidate to take newly
available rigs.
Petrobras declined to comment on the issue.
But Mauricio Tolmasquim, a top Brazilian government energy
advisor, said this week that he expected the Gulf spill to
benefit Petrobras by making more deep water rigs available –
adding that cost savings could be offset by higher insurance
premiums for drilling operations.

Brazilian officials, including government leaders and
Petrobras executives, have said Brazil has no intention of
slowing its offshore development as a result of the spill.
Analysts say oil companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico
– most notably BP and Chevron (CVX.N) — may have to decide
between paying standby fees while the rigs are idle, moving
them to other projects, or canceling the contracts.
The U.S. moratorium may last longer than six months because
of U.S. sentiment against offshore drilling and plans for an
overhaul of safety standards.
This could provide further incentives to move rigs to
Brazil or West Africa, which together with the Gulf of Mexico
have over the last five years been the principal areas of deep
water exploration.

Petrobras, which pumps the vast majority of Brazil’s crude,
said in its 2009 business plan that it would lease eight deep
water drilling rigs this year and a total of 14 in 2011 and
2012.

The courts overturned the moratorium on offshore drilling yesterday, yet according to televised reports, none of the platforms will reactivate pending appeal. Realizing the costs associated with shut down/activation Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser should emulate this decision by oil co.’s and ignore the order. Continue dredging, creating necessary berms and file suit against the feds for ALL resultant damages occuring during any enforced shutdown.

Here’s the key though. Obama cut off the money from BP that would have paid for the dredging. Remember, LA is broke just like the other states. They need the cash from BP or from the feds to move forward.

I live on the coast and it’s clear the help won’t come from the federal government. It will come from local and state government and the free market. I have no faith in this federal government except for the huge change coming in November. You have to forget how you behave in a normal society. This is an abnormal situation. And he [Soros's father] arranged for all of us to have false papers, everybody had a different arrangement. I was adopted by an official of the ministry of agriculture, whose job was to take over Jewish properties, so I actually went with him and we took possession of these large estates. That was my identity. So it’s a strange, very strange life. I was 14 at the time.”
In point of fact, Soros’s adopted “godfather” served under Nazi Waffen SS Gen. Kurt Becher, who ran what was euphemistically called the Economic Department of the SS Command, which oversaw the extermination of 500,000 Hungarian Jews. In his famous book {Perfidy}, an indictment of the Jews who colluded with the Nazis in order to survive, Ben Hecht described Becher’s Economic Department, in more graphic terms than did Soros. Breckenridge), the Jim Crow laws of the KKK, the Sedition Act of Woodrow Wilson and it thousands of political prisoners, and ten years of depression with Franklin Roosevelt.

The only states facing a Petroleum epidemic are the Republican run gulf-states and in typical Republican fashion they are begging the Democrats to save them again. There’s a reason that California, Oregon, and Washington don’t have oil all over their beaches and ocean, it’s because they vote Democrat.

Have you heard about the law of unintended consequence? You can place a lot of BLAME for the Gulf Oil disaster at the feet of environmentalists. Yep… THANKS to greenies for pushing rigs to be way the hell out in immensely deep water instead of more managable areas such as on land or shallow water. Thank you SO MUCH for your HELP in causing this disaster!

P.S. – Drill baby drill is the correct position to take, regardless of party, to help America get off the teat of foreign oil dependency.
