Unreal. Obama Replaced Churchill Bust in Oval Office With Picture of Himself Walking On Water (Updated)

What a shock.
The LA Times reported, via FOX Nation:
Ever since the Obama White House got rid of that colonial era bust of Sir Winston Churchill on-loan from Great Britain, they’ve been on the lookout for new less offensive art.
Now we learn, thanks to Howard Kurtz on CNN, that Obama adviser David Axelrod made a call to the editor of the New Yorker magazine requesting a copy of the Feb. 1 cover of the magazine showing No. 44 walking on water. (No, not the newly-resurfaced Gulf of Mexico.)
The only stipulation: The cover art had to be autographed by artist Barry Blitt.
Here’s the exchange between Kurtz and magazine editor David Remnick on “Reliable Sources”:
REMNICK: Well, they wanted a signed version of the cover. And, you know, there were other covers maybe they didn’t like as well. But I think they got over it. In fact, they got over it a lot faster than some other people.
KURTZ: What did Axelrod’s office tell you about Obama’s personal reaction?
REMNICK: I think Axelrod and Obama were laughing hysterically over this cover. And the fact to their credit, within a matter of weeks, that they reversed the really sinking trend that they were experiencing, and they passed health care. And the White House certainly reversed its downward trend pretty quickly after that cover. I’m not saying the cover was anywhere near responsible for it.
KURTZ: Well, it’s a good thing you didn’t have him sinking all the way into the water after Scott Brown’s victory.

The LA Times item is based entirely on this CNN transcript. I don’t see anything there about the New Yorker cover “replacing” the Churchill bust.
True. Although President Obama removed the Churchill bust and then later was given the framed magazine cover, it is not cllear that he replaced one with the other.

1) Remnick tells Kurtz that Axelrod asked for a signed copy of the New Yorker cover. No one suggests that the cover is on display in the Oval Office, let alone that it “replaced” the Churchill bust.
2) The LA Times introduces the story about the cover request by noting that Obama banished the Churchill bust.
3) Fox mistranslates the LA Times item to mean “Obama Replaced Churchill Bust With Mag Cover”.
I admit this sounds like just the sort of mindlessly egocentric thing Obama and his lackeys might do, but it looks like they got a bum rap this time.

Yesterday, seven Republican Senators issued a letter to Barack Obama questioning a proposed executive order that could potentially not only grant mass amnesty to the nation’s illegal alien population, but also allow new immigrants into the country.
Obama cannot get Congress to vote on this Amnesty Bill so he may have decided to do this himself. It doesn’t matter that something like this cannot be done by Executive Order, or that its Unconstitutional.

I was going to remark on the “Colonial Era” bust, since the Colonial Era here in the US ended a couple of hundred years ago, long before Sir Winston was ever born (his mother was American BTW – and he was made an honorary US citizen). Then I read someone’s comment above about the “offensive” bust and realized that the “Colonial Era” causing the offense is the British Colonial period of KENYA, The Won’s true nation of citizenship.
Sir Winston Churchill may be offensive in Kenya, but here in the USA he is highly honored and indeed, quite nearly one of our own. Certain parties who find that “offensive” could simply go back to Kenya where they belong.
