What an absolute stunner.
Dave Weigel, The Washington Post‘s contributor on conservative issues, was also a member of “Journolist”, an exclusive leftist email list-serv.
The Daily Caller reported:
Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh famously said he hoped President Obama would “fail” in January, 2009. Almost a year later, when Limbaugh was rushed to the hospital with chest pains, Washington Post reporter David Weigel had a wish of his own. “I hope he fails,” Weigel cracked to fellow liberal reporters on the “Journolist” email list-serv.
“Too soon?” he wondered.
Weigel was hired this spring by the Post to cover the conservative movement. Almost from the beginning there have been complaints that his coverage betrays a personal animus toward conservatives. E-mails obtained by the Daily Caller suggest those complaints have merit.
“Honestly, it’s been tough to find fresh angles sometimes–how many times can I report that these [tea party] activists are joyfully signing up with the agenda of discredited right-winger X and discredited right-wing group Y?” Weigel lamented in one February email.
Dave Weigel resigned today from The Washington Post.
…Maybe they can get commie Rosie O’Donnell to comment on conservative issues?
UPDATE: The WaPo’s Ombudsman admitted today that the Post had lost its standing among conservatives.
Actually, it lost its standing among conservatives years ago. Today’s news just confirmed what we all already knew.

oh, i’ve been changing plenty of minds lately…. i have a friend who used to just slam glenn beck…he never watched him, just watched John stewart and msnbc… so we talked bout all the nonsense and he agreed with about 90% of what i was saying, then had to break the news to him that…. “you sound just like glenn beck” and handed him the book, Common Sense. most of my fam is democrat, didnt vote the last election…all voting repub this year in Pa. Firefox has firstthings (and Gateway Pundit) listed as an attack site. I had to uncheck “block attack sites” in the options tool in order to view it just now.

Two reasons…..
1. Someone with malicious intent (probably political) hacked into the First Things server and dumped some “goodies”.
2. Someone with malicious intent (probably political) wants Gateway Pundit and First things as “hate sites”.

All you need to do to get around the Firefox browser block is go to File/Preferences/Security and uncheck the block sites function to disable this new “feature.”
I don’t know about you folks, but I really don’t want Google and some StopBad something or other telling me which sites I can and cannot visit. I’ve already written to them and if this is not fixed almost instantly then I will simply stop using Firefox – and Google if I must.

Los Angeles Library system computers are trying to block this site. Had to come in throught the back door. They claim viruses, but is an exscuse to block it. This is not good.

Agent 99, there are no problems on this site. Check your antivirus for a way to stop them blocking this site – they are probably using some list similar to a parental blocked sites list. If you can’t undo that then consider simply uninstalling your current antivirus and installing something else. There are several available that are good and free.

No libtard sent Google Inc/ MS a message that this site is full of viruses, so when using MS browser, which is the library’s only browser ( cannot manipulate their systems) the browser will not let you in. you have to go to another page that is linked to this site to get in and not from the serch engine. Just though I would let GP know. It had to be a libtard, lying of course.

Rachelle, go to Preferences/Security in your Firefox and uncheck the block sites option. They have added in something from STopbadware.com that blocks sites claiming they have malware. If blocking this site is any indication of their reliability they are something I want no part of.
Come to think of it, I suspect I can stay away from “bad” sites with no interference from whoever Stopbadware is – and no censorship from Google thanks.

If one is using Safari 5.0, the short-term solution to the block seems to be as follows:
1. Go to Preferences (under Safari menu);
2. In the top bar of Preferences, select “Security”;
3. The top checkbox is “Warn when visiting a fraudulent website”. Uncheck.
I have toggled this several times. If checked, the warning intervenes. If unchecked, no warning.
Not clear why an Mac OS app should be tied to Google diagnostics.

My avast! has been popping up with a warning everytime I log onto First Things; however, it disarms the threat and lets me access the site.
The funny thing is that it names a different threat, trojan, etc. each time.

Guys, there was a hack on this site. I viewed it at work, and the next workday, the network guys paid me a visit. Said my PC contracted the UDS_Waldec/Zeus virus by going to a certain website (a Google search reveals said site is known to be malicious). The timestamp was Friday, June 25, at 11:20 am EST, and this very page is where I was at during this time.
So yeah, GP and/or FirstThings got hacked.
