Arrested Gaza Flotilla "Peace Activists" Are Al-Qaeda & Muslim Brotherhood Members; Have Record of Radicalism

What a shock. A majority of the arrested “peace activists” who brutally attacked the Israeli soldiers with pipes, metal rods. chairs and knives are linked to terror groups including Al-Qaeda. Several are members of the Muslim Brotherhood. The activists include Turks, Yemenites and Indonesians. And, many of the arrested “peace” fanatics have no identification papers.
The terror-linked “peace activists” even brought their own “Hezbollah slingshots” with them on their “peace” mission. (IDF)
YNET News reported:
The ongoing interrogation of passengers who were aboard the Marmara – the Gaza aid flotilla’s flagship – revealed that the majority of those who attacked the Israeli Naval Commandos boarding the ship have direct and indirect Global Jihad ties.
Israel’s investigation has revealed some 100 people infiltrated the peace and humanitarian aid activists making their way to Gaza, with the explicit design to attack Israeli soldiers using cold arms.
Some among that group are believed to have ties with World Jihad groups, mainly al-Qaeda.
The majority of suspects are Turks, but some are Yemenites and Indonesian. One Yemenite Islamist was photographed with a dagger in his belt prior to the raid.
The suspects are not cooperating with investigators. Most of them have no identification papers, and Israeli authorities are still trying to ascertain their identity.
So, will the Western media omit this from their reports, too?

UPDATE: Michael Oren, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S, said the terrorists had ties to Al-Qaeda.

“I believe that the organization involved in organizing the Turkish part of the flotilla was deeply linked to Islamic extremist organizations in the world,” Ambassador Oren said. “This is not just Israel’s conclusions. There is evidence from the CIA.”

I can certainly believe that at the very least the humanitarian project was at the least subverted for political/terror goals. But this story doesn’t really give any details; and the details it gives are confusing.

Three German politicians were on the ships. Annette Groth, Inge Höger and Norman Paech. They have now returned to Germany and have issued the following comments:
“We have felt like in war, like being kidnapped.”
“We could return because we’re members of parliament. Everybody else is in jail.”

Both women, and their whole party, hates the Jews, hates capitalism, hates America, hates freedom, hates democracy, hates liberty. Their signs in the last election in Germany read “Wealth for everyone” and “Tax wealth.”

He’s also from the above mentioned party. Paech is known for being a rabid anti-semite. He said that Israel has no right to exist, no right to defend itself and the “Palestinians” have the duty to fight (and kill) Israelis.

There’s better and more information in David Goldman’s commentary to which I linked in my follow-up post. He makes very clear the ideological connections and relationships, and his analysis is much persuasive than the original story above or the comments in this thread.
sliderblaze: I’m not assuming anything of the kind. The story quoted by Hoft is what cites “interrogations” and “investigation” and their non-cooperation. It simply doesn’t back up what it claims.
I have no doubt Israeli investigators are leaving no stone unturned in determining who these people and any affiliations they might have.
But judging from the comments here, only a true innocent would rely on “Internet postings” for reliable information. And I’m pretty sure that the Israeli intelligence services aren’t relying on them.

Israel did NOT “attack” or launch an “assault” on the flotilla. Stinkin’ media leads with that when it should lead with “Israeli boarding party brutally attacked by blockade crashers in violation of maritime regulations and protocols.”
What does Israel need to “assault” for hazardous hand-to hand ship board combat when blowing a hole in the side is simpler and safer? “Assault” or “attack” wasn’t the purpose at all.
They boarded by standard naval regulations to take control of the steering wheel of the ship.
As far as the “undocumented” passengers go, they don’t have ID to confound any inevidable investigation. They probably recruited for “nobodies” with no police records.

This is a gross distortion of an already distorted Op-Ed by Cal Thomas, a Fox affiliate and the most widely syndicated Op-Ed columnist in the U.S. The Christian Science Monitor has a much better take on any possible ties of any SMALL MINORITY of peace protesters to the IHH, and organization which was reported in French Intelligence documents to have been involved in some way with Al Qaeda. To say a majority of over 600 people involved in this action have direct or indirect ties to fundamentalist Islamic organizations is not only wrong, it is an outright lie. Sorry.

The CSM take is somewhat more balanced, although it uses the word “many” at first instead of majority but then doesn’t substantiate this claim whatsoever. That you people seem so ready to buy this propaganda hook, line and sinker is disheartening.

I would trust anything Cal Thomas has said, and he is much more than a Fox News contributor. He is one of the most respect columnists in the US which is why he is also one of the most widely syndicated columnists. But you go ahead and defend the murderous Palestinians.
My sister last November was in a city in Israel that had received over 4,000 bombs just in 2009 from Palestinians. How anyone can defend the Palestinians is beyond me.
