Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) told an audience in North Tempe that Obama is holding the border hostage.
“They want to get something in return for doing their duty.”
On June 18, 2010, Arizona Republican Senator Jon Kyl told the audience at a North Tempe Tea Party town hall meeting that during a private, one-on-one meeting with President Obama in the Oval Office, the President told him, regarding securing the southern border with Mexico, “The problem is, . . . if we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support ‘comprehensive immigration reform.’” [Audible gasps were heard throughout the audience.] Sen. Kyl continued, “In other words, they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with ‘comprehensive immigration reform.’”

Wow, people in the U.S. are being killed because the borders aren’t secure, but Obama doesn’t seem to care because he wants comprehensive reform, of which, of course, means more votes for the democrats, if and when implemented. Obama is clearly not faithfully executing existing federal law made in pursuance of “this Constitution.” Article VI.
That a person with Muslim sympathies would lie is no surprise. The surprise is that Members of Congress who have taken the 5 USC section 3331 oath would tolerate this behavior

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.
Now, what the hell are Congressional Republicans- those left who are presumably true Americans- going to do about it? That’s the REAL salient point.

The problem is that even after this election, with a majority in both House and Senate, the Republicans will still not have enough seats to override a Presidential veto. That will only come in 2012 but then we will have a Republican President and it won’t be needed.
But I believe the Democrats have destroyed their chances in Congress for decades. We are now likely to see a 40 year reign of the Republicans in Congress just as the Democrats did for so many years.

I vaguely recall the first amnesty, 1986 I think it was. At the time we were told that it would be the last time for any amnesty. Under the circumstances, that seemed to be OK. It would fix the problem once and for all and then we could move on. Well, now some 25 years later it is obvious that neither Democrats nor Republicans had any intention of fixing anything once and for all. It was just opaque politics and pandering to the power of the business community and their campaign contributions. Since that time, neither party has done anything about this issue – not Bush Sr, not Clinton and not Bush Jr.
As far as I can tell, neither party is worth spit when it comes to much of anything. It is refreshing to see voters finally getting irate at their own lousy incumbents for a change. Up till now, all people have done is blame other politicians, but not their own. With any luck, those days are coming to an end. I would be just as happy to the the end of Mitch McConnell and John Boehner as I would to see Reid and Pelosi go. Maybe then a reasonable solution to this intractable mess could be implemented. If Obama fails to get a handle on an acceptable solution, then that will be a reason to vote him out of office.

Just came back from 4 months in Brownsville/Matamoros area. In my opinion neither Mexico or the US Governments want to secure [close] the border. Mexico wants the cash flow from illegals working in the US plus the “proceeds” of the drug trade. They also can’t provide for their growing population. The US wants the cheap labor. Employers can pay below the minimum wage and still attract workers from Mexico, 5 dollars an hour in the US is still better than 7.50 per day in Mexico. Waiters in Matamoros get 55 dollars a week plus tips. Merchants in the market are lucky to make 100 dollars a week and can raise 6 kids on that. Drug dealers reportedly can hire gunmen for 800 dollars a month.
There is too much money involved for mere politicians to be able to fix the problem. Closing the border will start a war on the border that will involve more than the Mexican authorities and our Government knows it.

Well, why would he care about the Constitution since he violated it by taking the oath of office in the first place, or second place counting the re-do? His father was a foreigner if Obama Sr. was his father.. and that violates the natural born requirement. He had no right to take the oath and only the treason of the Democrats and the media got him that far. He knows he will get only one term unless he can get a lot more Democrat voters and if he can he will be in the WH for the next forty years. Think Fidel and Hugo. Impeachment? That’s the easy way if the Republicans can get majority. The hard way is civil war..

Given most of the comments above are sincere and I think on the money, I find myself angry and confused as to why a nation populated by over a million Lawyers, not one lawyer or law firm has shown the stones to make a case against the man who occupies the White House. While not well off I would financially donate to any qualified firm that brought a sincere case for impeachment or at least failure to honor his oath against this fraud. I also suspect many others would be of the same mind. Age and health has deprived me the ability to be active in the community, it sickens me that after 20 years of active duty service that a threat as great as this and I’m stuck on the side lines. He has not lived up to his oath of office where is the political outrage.
