Sarah Palin will meet with Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher, the first female prime minister in Europe, during a planned trip to Great Britain.

The Daily Mail reported:

Sarah Palin could soon be on her way to Britain to boost her hopes of challenging Barack Obama in the 2012 US presidential election.

Her representatives approached Margaret Thatcher to ask for a meeting as part of a bid to enhance her claim to be the ‘heir to Ronald Reagan’ and prepare to challenge Mr Obama.

And Lady Thatcher has agreed to see Mrs Palin, who stood as the Republican vice-presidential candidate in 2008. A spokesman said: ‘We had an informal approach asking if Lady Thatcher would meet Mrs Palin if she comes to Britain and we said yes.’

  1. Awesome, she is running in 2012.

  2. Girls just wanna have fu-un.

  3. Anything to strengthen the relationship with Britain now is good.

  4. Individually, both these women have more character, strength and courage than the beta males & femNazis currently occupying the executive branch of the US government have in aggregate.

  5. I like the fact that we have a conservative from the United States meeting with an iconic conservative from our dearest ally Britain. Hope is alive!

  6. Small steps to securing the future. But MIGHTY steps they are!!!!!

  7. Reagan in a skirt. No doubt.

  8. I would lay down my life for either of these two. Leaders of good character and vision are rare and need to be credited. Both these women are far surpasing the rest of the cadidates for clarity and vision. Sarah, I’ll die for you cause/That is America. powder is dry.
    salute

  9. Sarah is the only leader from the conservative side that can win the Presidency in 2012.

    Wake up you doubters.
    Palin is the real deal.
The rest of the field is full of fake conservatives.

    Smart move, Sarah!
    And smart move Mrs. Thatcher!

  10. I heard Thatcher talk about Palin a while back. It was obvious she admired Sarah. She did say she believed it would behoove Palin to embark on an intensive study of events and learn how to speak “the Queen’s English”.

She did not say it in a derisive manner, she indicated she herself had come from a “common” background and made the decision to immerse herself in the language of the upper class. I am certain their conversation will be lively and those two will have a serious heart to heart. These women know what’s at stake.

  11. I think Palin just wants to pay homage to one of her heroes. And if Mrs. Thatcher is well enough to give some advice (I’ve heard she has dementia), I’m sure Palin will be all ears.

  12. This is great news!

  13. Margaret Thatcher and Phyllis Schlafly were the trailblazers for Sarah and Michele Bachmann. I hope Sarah takes a meeting with Phyllis, too.

    Conservative women rock!!!

  14. I have an uncle in England who, to this day, calls Maggie Thatcher for everything!
(I guess we can’t choose our relatives.)

  15. Next Sarah needs to go to Israel to repair the damage caused by Captain Kick A$$.

  16. This is like when Luke met Yoda. Sarah will learn the force. This is good, very good.

  17. I’ve read that Sarah has a big campaign chest now I can see for myself.

  18. They are real, and they are spectacular.

  19. Margaret Thatcher was one of the real World leaders in a time when we needed one. Together with Ronaldus Magnus Reagan they tore down the wall. We, do to their efforts began a 20 year cycle of prosperity that was only slowed by Clintons tax increases. We owe her and him a lot. Sarah sit down with her and learn, you could do a lot worse. Thank you LORD for giving us Thatcher and Reagan, and now Palin.

  20. It is just wonderful that Sarah will have a chance to meet Mrs. Thatcher. Hope thing will go well for Sarah when she go to visit with Mrs. Thatcher.

  21. No doubt that Sarah Palin is a worthy inheritor of the Great Communicator’s mantle of leadership. Meeting with Lady Margaret is the Conservative World’s equivalent of receiving the Pope’s personal blessing.

However, as much as I like Sarah Palin, she needs to demonstrate some foreign policy credentials to win my vote for President. Granted, Zero has NO experience in any area (other than Community Organizing) but the next President will need to soothe our allies (if any are left). Who advises Sarah on that mine filled course had best be someone of John Bolton’s grade or better.

  22. I was listening to some babbler on KTLK yesterday panning Saracudda as a quitter. Callers tried to inform this dip about the highly negative effects of all the phony ethics complaints and lawsuits brought by the Dimocrat sharks on her, her family, and their finances ($100k+ in personal legal bills). He poo-pooed it and kept babbling on about only admiring ‘fighters’.

Apparently he thinks suicide is admirable. What a butthead. Study the successful greats of times past like generals and state leaders. You fight the ones you can win. You dig in where you can. You attack when they’re weak. And… you walk away from suicide. Duh!

Three cheers for Gov. Palin. I don’t know if she’ll run for President or not but she is certainly a wonderful asset for the conservative cause. I love watching libs foam at the mouth as they say her name.

  23. I have to agree with SeniorD.

Have to also say, to chuck, she did abandon her sworn oath to an Office – conservatives just do not quit on a responsibility – even for a mega book deal and cheap liberal lawsuits. Shows a lack of commitment – and substance is part of the problem with the Palin Celebrity.

Making her out to be the next Reagan actually hurts her – for there is literally nothing to compare to as of yet. Thus, it becomes rather silly.

Also, regarding meeting the wonderful Margaret Thatcher – it is more IMAGE BUILDING. Just like the efforts of a typical politician who is more interested in identity. It reminds one of the Maverick, playing the game, instead of doing the homework and the real effort in the trenches.

Christie is LEADING like the GIPPER and MAGGIE – no need to attempt to fake it with a politically motivated meeting for image sake

Sarah has such a great potential, but every time she appears a safe environment for an interview – she proves to be a let down.

In fact, she has endorsed the opponent in Sen. Murkowski’s Primary – which seems to be entirely out of petty politics based on past local Alaskan infighting, while Mrs. Murkowski has recently led an admirable endeavor in the Senate to stop the Democrats to exploit the EPA.

One continually has to question Mrs. Palin’s judgement, like leaving the Governorship in Alaska, endorsing Rand Paul, embracing the Maverick Platform (including Cap and Trade folly) in the last GOP Primary – which was even more concerning knowing the exposure a young pregnant Daughter was going to receive.

However, the biggest problem is, I am not certain folks are studying the content of the offering from Mrs. Palin, (just like during the time she defended herself against the failed ARNOLD in CA, with reminders of growing bureaucracy by creating ‘Climate Panels’).

Recently Sarah Palin wrote (had someone write) a Facebook offering on the disastrous Obama handling of the BIG SPILL. It was an obvious political offering, including several name drops, to display some image of having experience in dealing with the Oil Industry (which she raised taxes upon as Governor by the way).

But the context of what Mrs. Palin actually said was indeed concerning for any Conservative, “reach out to experts who have experience holding oil companies accountable…”

This is not what one wants to hear.

Sure it is politics. Yet, holding Businesses accountable is not addressing a crisis – it is what Democrats do, often resorting to mere lawsuits and blame.

This is not an action plan, nor does Mr. Obama need to TALK with any more EXPERTS. That is part of the problem, as with the joke – ‘the World burns as Obama holds another SUMMIT’. Jindal, Christie, etc., are showing everyone how a sound CEO (like Rudy and GW did before) takes proper ACTION; focusing on priorities, gathering personnel, allocating resources, addressing the problems, etc. These Republican CEOs actually “DO IT”, where as Democrats talk, emote, hold others accountable, tax, slander, blame, etc.

I feel Mrs. Palin needs a lot to learn, or should seek some better help – her natural instincts to raise populist taxes on Oil Companies, create Climate Panel Bureaucracy, embrace the Maverick ‘Dem Light’ platform, etc., is far from the Reagan Legacy.

  24. I hate get all juvenile on here, but, man, Sarah Palin is HOT!!!

  25. Of course she is running. She submitted her bid in Feb 2009 with the elections board right after obonehead was sworn in as UOTUS.

Why else would she quit as Governor? So she can secretly position herself, which takes time.

Why else would the obozo admin be relentless on their attacks of her? Because they saw the elections docs to run for president in 2012 submitted by Sarah in 2009.

You can find the doc on the web. It was posted in Feb 2009.

  26. Mrs. Thatcher has dementia. Should be an interesting meeting.

  27. “Mrs. Thatcher has dementia. Should be an interesting meeting.”

Thatcher has quite a few former aides who can meet with Sarah as well. Plus, there’s a whole Margaret Thatcher Foundation that can be available at Sarah’s disposal.

    http://www.margaretthatcher.org/

  28. I Think she has had a couple of strokes. That is a far away diff than dementia. It is very kind for Lady Thather and her people to see Gov Palin.
Perhaps they could give advice on world events from a conservative view and additional things to study. Doesn’t hurt to be over-prepared.

  29. Gov. Sarah Palin continues to grow in prestige, power, & popularity, even as Obama spirals downward to irrelevance & foolishness. Let’s support Sarah for 2012!

  30. Those two women should be the icons of feminism, but….they are not. Thats probably bkz f’ism is not about women but about communism.

  31. Actually Margaret Thatcher wasn’t for the taking down of the ‘wall’ and for good reason.

I thought Margaret Thatcher was suffering from dementia of some sort, but she seems to be getting better.

  32. Lady Thatcher risked her life to attend Ronald Reagan’s funeral. Her doctors told her traveling at high altitude would not be good for her health.

The Iron Lady went ahead and stood beside the casket, Nancy Reagan and her family. That’s not only guts, but true friendship talking.

How many people will attend Zero’s funeral? Or, who would risk life and limb to say their final goodbyes at his resting place?

  33. Well she might not have a better brain than the last republican president, but she sure bought herself bigger boobs than Dumbya ever had!

  34. Thatcher never had to write notes on her hand. Sarah is going to have to do some study before this meeting.

  35. “So a Palin representative approached Margaret Thatcher to ask for a meeting as part of a bid to enhance her claim to be the ‘heir to Ronald Reagan’”

This is what the Palin representative said Jim? How about verifying that quote from the Palin camp. Have a name Jim?

  36. Wow, her tits look great.

    Margaret Thatcher’s I mean.

  37. To John #39: You wrote:

Hmm… another lib who can’t click a provided link nor read the quoted news story. Sigh – lib trolls are getting more obtuse by the day… too much hopenchange kills brain cells, methinks, John.

Jim provided the quote from Daily Mail exactly as it was posted and gave proper citation to the source – even showing it in the photo capture of the photo’s caption. Jim provided the information as it was provided – so what are you sniveling about?

If you have to pi$$ and moan about verification of a source of a quote from an international news story, take it up with the UK publication that made the original assertion, you chucklehead.
