Awful leftist Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA), the voice of the Democratic Party, insults town hall participants who are concerned about border security.
For three minutes straight he abuses his constituents:
From the video: First he taunts a member of The Minutemen by asking “Who’re you going to kill today?”. Then, he mocks the Minutemen by saying that he will “try to get (them) some more arms” so they can protect the border.
The Congressman from California then strangely said: “You tell me, I’m not the government.” An odd statement for a man who has served as a US Representative for the past 37 years.
Finally, for the money quote: “Our borders are quite secure, Thank you.

Mats commented:
If the purpose is to get more democrat votes, then, yes, the border is “secure”.

Pete Stark Raving Mad.
Male Silverback commented:
I did like his comment “You tell me, I’m not the government.” Don’t worry Pete, I’m sure that your constituents will help you with that come the next election.
Male Silverback commented:
When is he up for reelection? Anyone with a chance in hell running against him?
Mats commented:
Wait. This is california. They love the illegals there, so that’s why he feels safe.
CoolCzech commented:
“Our borders are quite secure, thank you.”
I guess Stark must live in a gated community?
Chris Vehr commented:
What a total jerk! He mocked everyone who made a comment or asked a question. This guy is waaaaaaaay to comfortable in his job.
Wonder why he is so arrogant. Sounds like a certain “Hussein” in the White House…or maybe his Chief of Staff, perhaps the White House spokesperson, or the vice president, maybe the House Speaker, or the Senate Majority Leader…
Why do we do this to ourselves?
C’mon November!!!!
Eden commented:
All Representatives are up for election every two years. Senators are 6 years.

[Finally, for the money quote: “Our borders are quite secure, Thank you.] secure from the average john q public probably.

Obviously, this congressional clunker is running on an expired tag. Time for the pasture.

Pete Stark-Contrast
There’s Progressive Democrats who live parasitically off the tax payer & then there’s the rest of us.
Not mentioned is that Stark claims a Maryland address as his primary residence to avoid paying those pesky (high) Ca. income taxes.
Please show him the door come NOvember.
His GOP opponent in CA 13th is Luis “Coach” Garcia

He looks like he might be on meth, the way he talks.California is a big meth producing narco-state.
Arch commented:
Unfortunately, Pete Stark is in a very secure democrat seat.
Part of Oakland is in his district but I do not know if it includes the Latino gang war zone. There are three gangs identified by their colors – red, blue, and black. The number of members totals 40,000 and despite a handgun ban, the gangs are armed to the teeth. Oakland’s mayor responded by forming a special gang unit of eight officers. Yes, eight! That’s one officer for every 5,000 thugs.
As John McEnroe would say, “You cannot be serious!” Nothing in California is serious.
D_Fitz commented:
Some people enjoy being miserable. It is the only rational explanation as to why people continue to vote for Democrats.
proof commented:
Fortney “Pete” Stark is a national embarrassment. Unfortunately, the only way he’ll leave office is on a stretcher.
bobc commented:
Smug, arrogant, elitist, ignorant….what happened to these combative Democrats, to make them think they are royality?
Who do they think they are?
I’m beginning to think all elections are rigged, surely we don’t have that many ignorant citizens that keep voting for these idiots…then maybe we do..how sad!
Tom63010 commented:
To quote Joe Biden
“Why do you have to be a smart-ass?”
At the 2 minute mark he declares he isn’t the government, excuse me since when is a Representative in Congress not part of the government.
I must compliment the person asking the questions. He must have a lot of restraint not to start yelling, which of course was exactly what Rep. Stark wanted.
Had the questioner started yelling, which would be appropriate then the news media would have ran a story about the right-wing nuts screaming at their representatives.
Corky Boyd commented:
Democrats are feeling the heat.
They know they are ruling against the will of the people. And their day of reckoning is coming. So they spew their hateful venom at those who will vote them out of office.
Nevember 2 can’t come soon enough.
Robert commented:
They all have to go.
Democrats first.

He should change his name to Pete Snark.
Robert commented:
These people are all becoming so arrogant and condescending, including the Republicans. None of them deserve a single bit of respect, nor the office they hold.
This and media bias are the two most destructive forces endangering our Republic today.

Joanne commented:
This Pete Stark character is a jerk and a moron – making light of illegals crossing the US/Mexico border and the threat it is to people’s lives. What a POS!
Jennifer commented:
extremely arrogant, doesn’t care one bit about anyone, only himself. He’s got a cushy job and guess what? In Calfornia, he’ll be voted right back into office. Having lived in California nearly all my life, things will never change. Never, no hope for change. I’m from Loretta Sanchez’s district. She’ll be voted right back into office again, and again. The only solution is to move to another state.
dnb commented:
Does anyone know the stats on “deaths by Minutemen?” When did Minutemen start defending the borders? Thanks for the info.
dnb commented:
Secondly, is that considered libel? Can he be sued by the Minutemen? If so, any good lawyers out there.
dnb commented:
If I were Coach Garcia, that would be my campaign ad? That man is so condescending, it makes your skin crawl. Run mockery ads against all Democrats (Alinsky says that okay). Some up-and-coming conservative CA directors/producers should donate their time and talents to changing the political landscape of CA.
Pat the First commented:
The unfortunate thing about both the GOP and the Dems in secure districts/States is that they can become completely unconnected with the “small people”. DC is way too insulating.
Pat the First commented:
Oh, and by the way, I am not for 100% term limits in Congress. I do think there should be term limits in either the Senate or the House. We do need some continuity so we don’t need Congress to be completely changed often.
Sandy commented:
Flash — Obama is going to make a speech about his Comprehensive Immigration Bill. Ok so its not really a flash because once again Obama thinks he can solve all problems with his mouth.
Hey Pete, the reason you are so angry at the Tea Partiers is because they represent the American people and if your heart you know their right. How pathetic that you can’t win without the votes of Illegals.
Sojourner commented:
..I’d love for Stark to be taken to Nogales, AZ and be placed with his boots on the border to patrol. Let him get a real taste from the desert drug smugglers & coyotes of just how ‘quite secure our border is, thank you.’
SPIT.
SKAY commented:
My Republican Representative and Senator are not arrogant — but my Democrat Senator certainly is. No surprise–she does not like to have open town hall meetings.
Pat in Shreveport commented:
Time to support Forest Baker in CA-13.
bertogem commented:
Same old, same old, Pete Stark:
In an August 23, 2008 video taped interview with Jan Halfeld concerning the size of the national debt, Stark stated that the size of the national debt is a reflection of the nation’s wealth. When pressed if the nation should take on more debt in order to have more wealth, Stark threatened Halfeld and said, “You get the f**k out of here or I’ll throw you out the window.” –WikiP
We’d better start thinking of a contingency plan in case these bastards retain control of Congress in November — like seccesion.
Stuart commented:
Yet, one has to wonder how many of his constituents simply smile, and say nothing. While in their heart of hearts they grimly repeat; “sooner or later smart ass, it’s off with your head, off with your head.

Jack B. Nimble commented:
Why can’t conservative candidates be moved into districts like this nuts and run against them after getting residency and make their full-time job running for office? Surely, there are charismatic, conservative candidates who can beat the likes of Stark, Pelosi, and that little pig-faced California congressman whose name I cannot (and do not want to) recall. Target these people early one and spend every waking hour campaigning agains them for two years!
Arch commented:
My advice to anyone who lives in California and is dissatisfied with the state and their congressional delegation, do what I did when I lived in New York – vote with your feet – move.
I traded Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer in on Dick Shelby and Jeff Sessions. My property tax dropped from 4% to less than 1/2%. I pay zero state income tax on my retirement income. Best of all, my vote for president actually counts.
