True democrat Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-NC2) was caught on camera violently assaulting a student reporter on the street after he was asked if he supports the Obama agenda.

This what you can expect when you question democrats about their radical agenda.

Unfortunately for Bob, this didn’t go over well with his constituents. Etheridge now trails Republican foe Renee Ellmers.
ABC Local reported:

Days after North Carolina Congressman Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) was seen in a video confrontation with a man with a camera on a Washington street, a new poll seems to indicate the incident has damaged him with voters.

The conservative leaning Civitas Institute released a flash poll Thursday that shows Etheridge slightly trailing Republican challenger Renee Ellmers.

Civitas said the poll of 400 registered voters in the 2nd Congressional District shows Ellmers leads Etheridge 39 percent to 38 percent. Twelve percent said they would vote for Libertarian Tom Rose and 11 percent said they were undecided.

  1. If this bonehead couldn’t come up with a charming response to that question, he doesn’t belong in public office.

He could have shaken his head wearily at the dumb kid, grinned, and said “Like everyone else, I agree with some parts and disagree with others. That’s why I’m here – to help shape wise decisions.”

  2. Etheridge is a prime example of the type of person we don’t want in Washington. He’s obviously been there far too long.
What we need is folks who realize that they work for everyone, not just campaign donors and special interest groups. If they can’t handle their job with patience, empathy and humility, then they should find another line of work.

  3. Maybe I’ve got this all wrong. Perhaps assault is the new “Hope and Change.” For the second time in a week, a Democratic campaign for Congress has to answer for an assault on a videographer,

  4. just shows how jaded I’ve become–your title “…Trails Republican Foe” brought to mind Etheridge harassing Ellmers -by using dirty tactics…

  5. She should be leaving him in the dust. Please, NC voters do the right thing and lose this Dem thug come Nov.!

  6. .. Ellmers would be very wise to keep the video of Lil’ Bobbie Slap n’ Grab front and center in her campaign & in the press… In 2008, Etheridge increased his voting share by a mere 1% over 2006, despite the ‘historic’ nature of the election cycle.. he’s vulnerable, especially on Obamacare..and now add this most recent display of ‘ arrogance, unhinged.’ Ellmers should use that video for all its worth.. keep asking NC voters, “Just WHO is Bob Etheridge? Just WHO is he?”

Democrats are silently condoning BE’s actions, while the Republicans are jumping all over Joe Barton for apologizing to the BP exec for the Obama thug shakedown.. gah!!

  8. ..bg.. indeed, the Dark Side knows how to control the message.. Republicans need to get their act together. Barton was right…perhaps if he had called out the whole lot of gangsters, including Obama, he would have won the moment.. instead, he couched his argument in defense of BP.. sigh.

  9. Barton’s problem is that the guy he apologized to is also a thug.

  10. Clearly as evidenced by this video, power does corrupt the mind. This man needs a lesson in humility.

  12. Just read at BigGovernment that this isn’t the first time BE has bullied/attacked a kid.

In the mid-90′s, a senior in highschool met him at a football game. He then asked him his opinion re an education issue (BE was running for office) and didn’t get an answer. He asked two more times. Says he was then grabbed by the shoulders and shaken by BE.

Watching the video brought back those memories to this young lawyer. It created a stir and he was contacted by news people, but no stories were ever written about it. (He’s a Dem and says he supports BO…)

BE’s people are denying the account as it’s been told.

  13. Sojourner — I think Barton’s point was that a President has no right under the Constitution to shake down private industry. This is not the first time Obama did this. I believe that Barton said this with the full support of The Republican Party. That video is out there and will be played far more than his apology of his apology.

By the way, isn’t the MMS also responsible being that BP did not make a move unless the MMS signed off on it. But with Obama there always has to be a fall guy — and now he wants to move on from this issue.
